Snipped

The judge granted the prosecution's request that Frazee have no contact with any witness or anyone else named in the sealed arrest affidavit, with the exception of his family.

Patrick Frazee arrested in missing CO mom case
If I'm reading that statement correctly his family are considered witnesses and named in the arrest affidavit. In that it states he's not to have contact with anyone names in the arrest affidavit except his family, it would lead me to believe they've been named in the arrest affidavit.

I think she may have said that because Kelsey had told her she may have plans to go out to dinner, and in the video of her that day her hair wasn't styled as if she were going anywhere. Imo

Yes, this is what I'm going with as well on the hair comments. I also think KB might have told her mother what time PF was arriving to take them to dinner. So she might have known that KB was cutting it close being at the store at that time and not ready to go anywhere. Or perhaps CB knew that PF's truck was seen at the townhome by a neighbor between 12:30 and 1 PM. I wonder if KB normally used a straightening iron to style her hair everyday? CB had been in KB's home and might have known if there was no evidence that KB did her hair after arriving back from the store. JMO.

Thats what it looks like. The original order to unseal the warrant would not have made the warrant available to the public, but only to the defense team. The court has now rescinded that. The withholding of that information cannot go on forever. So the prosecution needs LE to get whatever information they can as soon as possible.
How long can they keep the warrant sealed from the defense?

That sounds like there are multiple people out there that are involved and LE is trying to leverage them for info. I can't help but still feel that LE was forced to arrest PF sooner than they wanted.
I agree and am thinking it might have been due to their escalating concern of baby K being in his custody and/or PF possibly being a flight risk?

IMO, all criminal defendants are hostile parties to some degree.

A hostile witness, however, is someone whose testimony is adverse/ to the lawyer who is questioning the witness. That is, a witness is hostile when his testimony is not helpful to the lawyer’s questions. The witness may be prejudiced against the party that lawyer represents.

When a witness is declared hostile, the questioning lawyer is allowed to ask leading questions on direct examination. Leading questions prompts or encourages certain answers, while direct questions cannot be in a form that suggests an answer to the question.

Direct questions are more open and can begin with who, what, where, when, and how. A leading question could be, for example, “Isn’t it true, Mr. Thompson, that PF asked you many times to (kill) his fiancé?”
Thank you so much for this detailed reply!

I have to say that I thought Kelsey's mother's interview w/ a CO TV station was odd.
She smiled inappropriately and made a comment about Kelsey's hair not being fixed in the grocery store
video.

WTH? Her hair?
But people can react oddly under when under incredible stress.
To me, I took it that the mother was trying to say that she thought that something was already hurting or upsetting Kelsey, because a happy Kelsey would not leave the house like that.

That was my take too. Her hair wasn't styled because she was hurrying to get a few things before getting ready to go out for the night. I always assumed she called her mom to get a recipe, then ran out to get the things she needed for the recipe and then returned home to make that recipe, probably planning to shower and fix up after she put the recipe together. It's what I would have done, especially considering if PF was supposed to arrive early. I would have had him watch the baby so I could shower and fix up. JMO

His unkempt appearance has me wondering if he has some injuries he is trying to hide? But probably a "whole body search" (or whatever LE would call that?) was done when he was arrested? And it's not likely any superficial wounds he might have from when he killed KB (do I have to say allegedly?) would still be visible. I don't know... Just thinking out loud, I guess. I'm trying to figure out why he's not keeping up with his hygiene. Maybe he's scared of going into what I assume would be a public shower?

According to his first lawyer's statements one of the way PF "cooperated" was by allowing police to take photographs-- I assumed of his body. But that would have been after Dec 3rd and any small scratches he might have had could have healed by that time.

Fiance of missing Woodland Park mom cooperating with police

Since leaving Switzerland, I have been stuck on KBs condo as the murder scene and by God, I think KBs mother fed us a clue. Why would she make it a point to tell people that KB looked kind of messy for KB?
Well, KB told Mom she thought she and PF were spending time together that day. I'm going with normal girl-type behavior here now. KB ran to the store for something, hair uncombed. Got home, PF either met her there or showed up shortly thereafter. KB asked him to either watch the baby, or put her down for a nap while she showered. There was something that went on in that time period that he found to be unacceptable for the very last time and fury and opportunity took over. I think he went off on her in the bathroom. Perhaps the shower curtain is missing. To any person, the area is easily cleaned, but is it really? Blood has a mind of it's own.
I think he might have been (perhaps) in a frenzy, perhaps scared, and told someone what had occurred. A brother? A mother?
I was quite shocked at his appearance yesterday. Was that from sinking into mental illness further and being medicated or shock itself?
Interesting case. Making my old brain hurt.
MOO, MOO, IMHO

How long would it take to mail a package from CO to ID? Could he have mailed the phone to an accomplice, told them to turn it on for a few minutes so it would send the messages and then dispose of it?

As in the Chris Watts arrest warrant, the witnesses were all listed. I am thinking that they are still following a trail that has not yet concluded in any additional arrests and they do not want this information known to the defense. IMO

I wonder who else is out there that could harm witnesses if the information was given to PF...

I REALLY want to see that warrant since it states he can’t have contact with anyone listed in the warrant other than family...
Patience, my dear! :)

Yea, and the prosecution feels witnesses would be in serious jeopardy and unsafe if it’s unsealed...interesting.
Someone might take revenge on a snitch ?

Yes, but the response to the motion specifically says that the information could put the safety of witnesses in jeopardy. So there is seemingly also a threat of harm there.

Exactly. But who? Especially if the killer is locked up...unless there is a second killer.

Well, IANAL (I am not a lawyer!) but here is what I understand. On 12/21 the prosecution indicated in court that they had no objection to unsealing the arrest warrant. They are now saying that they were misinformed about the status of the investigation and that unsealing the AW would jeopardize the investigation. The court has agreed to keep the AW sealed.
MOO
I agree with you. The state wants to continue to keep everything in the case a big secret, not from the media and public (who cares), but also from the arrestee, his defense attorney and whoever the state suspects. It means they don't have their case together and discovery is delayed. Did they offer a new date for this unsealing of the AW?

It being a holiday and weekend regular mail def wouldn't have worked and I doubt if even Fed Ex or UPS could have gotten it there. MOO

I wonder if they believe two people were involved, but aren’t sure which of the two, or if both, actually killed her? Maybe they need her body for that
