I agree it is small, but when you love someone and you have a child together you make sacrifices like choosing to live where you can afford housing and driving an extra 15 minutes to work if need be. I haven't mapped it but someone said Kelsey would have to drive over an hour to her place of employment. That's a long commute IMO. If the townhome Kelsey owned was not acceptable they could have explored other options. I'm not convinced this was a loving, committed relationship. I'm not convinced they were still together as a couple at all. MOO.
KB is the one with the commute working in Pueblo early MSM indicated it was 70?miles IIRC media Links has the name of her employer

I disagree there was any mention of inflated housing market, but rather it was poor cattle prices and/or livestock economy (i.e., PK business) that was impacting the couples ability to achieve their goals of buying property together. We already know that KB was able to purchase a small, older townhome in her own name presumably with her own income. However, based on demeanor, I wasn't necessarily convinced that this was a loving, happy relationship! MOO

If there were financial problems preventing them from living together, I'm not sure why KB needed the expense of owning, insuring and licensing two vehicles. Instead, it strikes me as a flimsy excuse for why the couple wasn't living together. JMO

I don't know if this has been posted but the Woodland Park PD posted a new announcement on the FB page.

Awesome, thank you for posting. So there was no welfare check until December 2.

They must have looked into her phone on December 2 and were able to see at that time that it had pinged on November 25. Does that make sense? It's probably what caused confusion in media reports, that it was interpreted as they looked for a ping actually on November 25.

My brain is mush at this point.

Just to set the record straight Josh Powell had supervised visitation. He took the kids in the house and shut out the caseworker. He did not have custody, Susan’s parents did at the time that he killed them.
I remember that now - thank you! Wish that supervised visitation wouldn’t have been granted to allow him privacy

The article is correct and it has been widely reported. The welfare check was on Nov. 25, the same day as the texts/ping. This is very significant because it created a long delay before LE started investigating.

Evidently LE was dismissive of it because KB is an adult, her purse and cell phone are missing and her alleged fiance claimed he, too, received a text that day and wasn't concerned.

In stark contrast is the Watts case: SW's purse and cell phone were found in the house and it triggered LE's immediate concern and CBI and FBI immediately on board. If cops had waited 10-days before they started looking, the bodies may have never been found.

In the Tibbetts case, the boyfriend and family were immediately concerned when they were told Mollie didn't show up for work and

KB's frustrated mother called back on Dec. 2. and made the missing person report and the local LE finally got interested. JMO
No. Seriously. The welfare check was on December 2nd.

Here is a link to the Woodland Park Police FB Post where they lay out the time line where you can clearly see it.

This was confusing me about the welfare check because it was said that it was 10 days before the welfare check but then also being said that it was November 25th which would have only been 3 days. This definitely helped nail down the timeline with everything we know right now.

You are right, my bad. Housing market were my words. A local had previously mentioned the housing prices exploded there in the last few years and I extrapolated from that. Here is a transcript of what her mom said:

CB: "The relationship has been good, um, they're loving, um it hasn't been ideal, you know given given the economy and things, you know, they had plans that haven't worked out as they would have liked but they've dealt with that and they've made things work regardless."

Reporter asks "By.. economy... you mean...?"

CB: "I mean they had plans, you know, they were planning to find a place for them to live and so forth and the economy with prices dropping out...Kelsey's fiance has some cattle and stuff and prices were poor and so the money just wasn't available as soon as they had hoped, but they make it work."

I would be in constant communication if my baby was with the father and certainly after 2-3 days I would report them missing if I haven’t heard from them - he never reported her missing Mom did Dec 2 - I’m thinking there was no dinner together at all IMO

Just spoke to Gazette and let them know.

Kind of sad to see people’s name crucified because they share the same last name.

Let the Gazette correct their inaccuracies.

Until then Kelsey we know you need help and your baby is being taken care of. We can promise you that.

This media attention might scare her into not wanting to come home.

Please God bring Kelsey home!
Kelsey needs help in what way?

Personally, I've given thought that she probably doesn't want to be engaged or stay there anymore. Perhaps motherhood doesn't suit her. Perhaps she wants her freedom, but maybe feels pressure from all angles due to folks religious beliefs- they might be making her feel guilty for not wanting this kind of a life for herself anymore.

So, right now, I won't say that the fiance is in my mind, a suspect or a POI, but damn, why did it take HER mother to report her missing, and why did HER mother have to call him first to see if he had heard from his fiance? Sorry, but that's not a caring man I'd want in my life, if something terrible happened to me, I would hope my husband would love me enough to search for me, report me being missing, and be involved in the press conference, begging for my safe return or to at least contact one of them by phone (not text!) to let them know that she is ok!

Now we know who “We” is and The reference about how the baby is being well cared for
Exactly. People are being misled, and they should know who is misleading them.

May I ask, who are you to Kelsey, please? Have you started the process of becoming a Verified Insider on here?

She's someone who won't be buying the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper anymore. That narrows it down.

I watched the interview, too, and thought it all just sounded, well, odd. So instead Kelsey bought her own small home because they couldn't afford a huge one together? Are cattle prices poor? We watch "Pioneer Woman" on Food Network and seems her husband's cattle business is bringing them in millions in OK but I'm sure it's different all over depending on your business. And, it's cheaper to live together than apart. Shared taxes, shared electric, shared mortgage... this just isn't making sense in my head with what little we know.

We need a break in this case, its bugging me out. I keep looking on here and online for a break. Her poor family, this is so heart breaking not knowing anytinng, no clues, nothing! Whoever did this had too much time !

This case reminds me of another missing mom who could not handle life and the personal pressure they experienced. Left her children with the husband and disappeared and committed suicide. I'm hoping she will be found safe. Some families have no idea what their children are fighting internally. Jmo
