someone asked on the official kelsey berreth missing facebook page (ran by family) if she could be there and they said no chance. So i assume they already checked that out.

So worried for her family. Mom seems in shock. IMO, I do not understand fiance's demeanor. This is your child's mother missing. Also, chief misspoke and corrected when reporter asked why fiancé wasn't at presser. He said something like that is the question that needs an answer and then said that is the question to ask him. Also wondering who babysat for the baby? Why didn't they say she also texted a babysitter????? I always babysat my friends kids, they babysat for me. They become a major priority for you because you depend on them for so much for your child. You keep them in the loop for EVERYTHING. You see them almost daily sometimes. Also worrisome to me is why the fiancé lives at his old home, why not with fiancé. I would send my kid packing if he had that responsibility to be there for the baby. How come they NEVER lived together??? But, that's just me. Just doesn't sound good IMO.

I believe PF business is registered at location believed owned by his Mother, and assumption is he resides at this address as well. IMO, it somewhat explains why KB may have purchased her own place (and not live with PF and his extended family). Also makes it more likely that the child's Grandmother provided daycare while KB worked 70 miles away in Pueblo. MOO

Well, let me ask a question about that. And this is not meant to be disrespectful of the family at all, but early on in this case the reports said that KB didn't have any family in Idaho and had no connections there. But then we learned that her mother actually lived in the state. Are the same people who gave that initial information the ones who are now answering these questions? Because whoever gave out that first information was wrong. I'm not going to accuse them of intentionally misleading us, but it appears they didn't know KB well enough to know her mother lived in the state!

Again, no disrespect to whomever is answering those questions, but I don't know who to believe and I am not convinced that the person giving information actually knows.

I have been trying to say this for a long time. IMO this somehow happened, and I don't understand how or why.

Today show had a video of her at Safeway and said the fiancé babysits during the day while she is at work. I will see if the link is up yet

15 + 9 = 24 months, or two years. Timing of move seems to coincide with her getting pregnant. Makes it seem like a possible break away from family happened at this time (JMO). Yet her mother was very adamant to say Kelsey has never lived with Patrick. I have to wonder how long it took her to tell her family about the pregnancy. Did she feel at 27 or 28 years old she had to hide an out of wedlock pregnancy or had to possibly lie about where she was living/who she was living with? Or is her family covering up now for a living situation they may not have approved of in the past?

It's hard to fathom an adult woman in a relationship moving away from home at about the same time she gets pregnant, moving to the same area as the father of her child and not 1. Moving in with her boyfriend OR 2. Marrying the boyfriend right away. Option #2 is the option I see most conservative Christian friends of mine taking. Unless the relationship ends/he refuses to commit. Did Kelsey find herself stuck in this new place with a baby and a rocky relationship? It feels like she might have been isolated. Something is off or there is something we are not being told. MOO. Where are all her friends and coworkers? Have they spoken to the press yet about Kelsey?

Good thinking.. Seems that perhaps KB and her mother may not have spoken every day or very regularly being that over a week passed before she became concerned about her daughter's welfare. maybe the fact she became pregnant out of wedlock put a strain on their relationship.

So, I have been lurking on this site for years and years and have never posted anything, so go easy on me please. I was just thinking, what if she needed help for drug or alcohol problems, placed her child in a safe place and went to go get help? This theory would answer a few questions in my mind.

I went to rehab 4 years ago; I thought I had developed a substance use disorder because I was drinking a lot and using benzodiazepines to cope with some significant trauma and grief. My family had ZERO idea that I was struggling, and were in complete shock when I told them that I was taking a leave of absence from my job and seeking help. I was 29 at the time and living on my own in another state. My friends had no idea either.

The only person who would have had any inkling that something was up would have been my ex boyfriend, who I had split from the year before, and was actually a big part of the reason why I thought I had a problem. (Side note - Once I got help for my mental health condition, the excessive drinking and prescription drug use stopped.)

The disease of addiction is very shame filled and secretive, especially if a person is intelligent, which Kelsey clearly is. I am not saying that she has any mental health issues or substance use issues, but I wanted to bring a different perspective to the issue.

My own belief about the case is what many of you have already said, and I will leave it at that.

At least the baby is ok (I hope). I assume if LE thought the baby was at risk, something would happen in regards to that. They likely can’t do anything at this point. I don’t feel very good about the baby being with the father—don’t know why.

I know why I dont feel good about it. I just recently saw a commercial for an upcoming show on the Susan Powell case where Josh set fire to his home that had his two kids in it. I think we all can remember how awful that case turned out when the kids were left with the murderer of his wife.

I sure hope this case does not turn out as bad as that one did.

I've thought the same thing, sadly. Family aren't always the ones who know best, especially if they live at a distance. Plus they are the most likely to 'want' things to be fine, even in the face of actual evidence.

Having said that, someone would know. Her work - she's a pilot - would surely be very on top of any suggestion of substance abuse. (you'd hope???) Her fiance would likely know. Local authorities might even know given that she has a one year old infant, or maybe not, not sure how it works in Co. But usually in the first year of a child's life you have quite a lot of contact with potential 'eyes' on that kind of situation.
