In a photo of the hole opened up, I did notice a square hole under where there was a mound of dirt, probably a septic tank. I don't know why they would dig up a septic tank if she was killed at her home. But they did dig up a lot more away from the square hole.

I'm wondering what he could have been after. Planning it for a few months...

I don't believe a word out of that man's mouth about K; it's all deflection IMO, to cast blame, shade, make him look good, like he does no wrong.

But sounds like they might have been on and off the last year, with the baby in common.

I'm looking at the layout on Zillow. She walks in that day, Thanksgiving, with the baby, with the items from Safeway...those buns on that stove...He arrives after she does, parks like he has before...

Was he there to take the baby for a bit so she could prepare food? He'd been planning something for a couple of months. What would that be? Was someone supposed to take something from the house while he had the baby? But she caught on?

What if she wasn't supposed to see something and as a witness "had" to be "silenced"?

He may not have many cows. Most dairy farms don't have a bull, they only have the cows and babies and they pay a fee to use a bull to impregnate the females.
Kelsey's mom said he had cattle and the prices were down this year adding stress to the relationship.

I'm guessing there is more of a chance he DID NOT burn her than he did. First of all a burning body has a smell like no other and it never leaves you. I was stationed in Japan in the Military and once or twice a week they would cremate people quite a ways away from the base but you would always smell it and always comment on it.
But in CO any sign of fire is taken extremely seriously especially due to the major fires of the Waldo Canyon Fire and more recently the Black Forest Fire which impacted me, I was evacuated and it came within about a mile of my house. But most people that smell smoke especially in a more remote area will not hesitate to call 911 immediately. The thing is the winds in CO are very strong coupled with it is extremely dry. So it doesn't take long for a fire to get completely out of control. The Hayman Fire which was probably 15 years ago was more in the area we are discussing and it seemed like it took forever to put out. I just think by burning it would draw unwanted attention very quickly as you can smell the smoke for miles with the wind. I am attaching a few pics of the Black Forest Fire take from my deck before I was evacuated. Yes, fires/smoke are taken very seriously here in CO. But then again it doesn't appear that he has done a very good job of covering his tracks up to this point... MOO
I tend to agree that it would raise an alarm from someone somewhere. It wouldn't be a normal or routine thing so I'd like to think a person would recall it and be suspicious in light of the development.

Thanks for the pics, I love visuals :)

Her engagement ring perhaps?

Good thoughts, do you have an idea to what that item may be?

Not sure. I guess an engagement ring is certainly a possibility. As are her purse and phone. I’m more interested in why LE believes something was taken from her by force during/leading up to the murder. I suspect whatever it is has to do with the evidence recovered in Idaho.

MOO, as always...

Hi, WSers. I’m trying desperately to catch up after some family travel.

I’ve been stewing over the “robbery.”

Something just popped in my head. It is probably too far fetched, but then again, who knows what kinds of plans someone who solicits murder, will try to come up with.

CB said she was surprised that Kelsey’s hair was not done before going to Safeway. Suggesting that something, in CB’s mind, appeared “off” in KB’s routine.

We have not seen footage of Kelsey coming out of the store. In the scenario I’m offering, POSSIBLY someone was waiting for her. (Or even with her).

I went to the Woodland Park Safeway website, and listed under Services: Bank- Wells Fargo.

Safeway at 1101 E US Hwy 24 Woodland Park, CO| Weekly Ad, Grocery, Pharmacy

(Hypothetically) What if PF or accomplice threatened Kelsey at gunpoint (or other), if she did not go to Safeway (Bank) and withdrawal a large sum of money? Threatened her life and/or Baby K’s if she were to signal for any kind of help in the store.

This withdrawal could serve multiple purposes.

By Kelsey withdrawing a large some of money before “disappearing,” it adds to the picture that PF seemed to be painting, that Kelsey willingly skipped town.

The large sum could also be used to pay the solicitee or any other accomplices. PF himself, may have needed the money to help cover up his crime.

It would only be KB on camera at the ATM (assuming it was just a Wells Fargo ATM, not full service bank - esp. due to holiday).

To my knowledge, we have never heard anything from LE about KB’s last credit card or bank activity before or after disappearance. Possibly, they withheld this info. for good reason.

We have seen crimes before, where someone is threatened in their home, and is instructed to go make a withdrawal, and on delivering the money back at home, is subsequently killed.

In this scenario, why would she go to Safeway ATM vs. drive thru ATM? I guess that would depend on whether the perp was with/near/watching her. If she had freedom to choose, obviously Safeway would buy her more visibility. Or, PF thought her getting money and certain items at store would be more “proof” that Kelsey willingly left town. Who knows? Maybe this was the only ATM KB used in the past...

As far as how the rest went down, there are many possibilities. But I just wanted to offer a new “robbery” theory. (Apologies if this has already been theoried- I am still catching up on threads).

Thoughts? Way too far fetched? Possibility?

MOO

ETA- Western Union is also listed under services at that Safeway.

You can't withdraw a large sum via an ATM. Usually 400 USD per day. For larger sums, you have to use a branch, and best, order a day in advance.

The whole article is so full of inconsistencies it's not funny. Why didn't they ask him why he didn't report her missing? Why didn't he become worried that she didn't return to pick up her child? Why was he still sleeping at her home? Why didn't he sit with investigators and answer any questions they might have? He knew so much about her, had been the last one to see her, he would have been an invaluable resource. And lastly, why not let the Berreth family have access to the baby?
BBM, I don't remember seeing this reported anywhere. Apologies if I missed it, but do you have a source, please?
According to a neighbor, PF leased a bull to the neighbor, PF must have had some cows somewhere. IMO
Where do you see that he was a neighbor? This is what I read:

Levi Snare said he went through 4H with Frazee when they were children, and he leases a bull from Frazee for his cows. Frazee kept to himself, Snare said, but could hold a conversation when engaged.

"I've known Patrick for a long time, and it doesn't seem to me like he could do that," Snare said. "You're innocent until proven guilty and so people on Facebook who don't even know Patrick need to keep their mouths shut."

Dairy farm? That's an entirely different operation. Where did this come from?

Good eyes! If they found blood or tissue they may have been examining the tanks/traps for evidence if they believe PF cleaned up there.

I use the term “large sum” loosely.

I feel like everybody knows something but me o_O. Did they find something other than <allegedly> her phone in Idaho? Or it could be my flu fog :D

Do they require a burn permit?
It isn't speculation. Most local folks DO NOT have any kind of outdoor fire to prevent catching the forest on fire. It is the responsible thing to do. We don't risk it with burning garbage. We don't want to risk our homes, our neighbors homes, our community, our beautiful area. We had a stage 2-3burn ban ALL summer. Had two fires, high chateau near Florrisant (human caused) and one in July N or WP caused by lightening.

I have no idea. What I know is that bodies can be destroyed in a burn barrel, and that I am unable to find any burn ban restrictions in Teller County at the end of November.

Speculation about burn bans can be easily cleared up by finding a link to the ban. I'm unable to find it, so it looks like there was no burn restrictions at that time. Maybe someone else can find information to support the speculation that there was a burn ban in place at that time.
Just call the WPPD

Jodee Garreston, Berreth's cousin, said the pair met online two years ago when Berreth lived in Warden, Washington. Within months, Berreth moved to Colorado to be with Frazee, said Garreston, who never met Frazee.
Frazee has a business shoeing horses in Teller County. Several of Frazee's friends and clients told CNN that he was well known and liked in the community and was a good father to daughter Kaylee.
Two friends said Frazee told them that the relationship with Berreth ended months ago -- claims that contradict statements from Berreth's aunt, who wrote on Facebook that Berreth broke up with Frazee the same day she went missing.
"I still refuse to believe that he's done this until I see the evidence," said Tamra Freeman, whose granddaughter played with Frazee's daughter.
Freeman said that Frazee told her the relationship with Berreth ended on New Year's Day 2018, and the only contact they had was related to their daughter. Berreth's mother has not responded to CNN's requests for comment.

Heartbreaking to think what KB endured with this man. MOO

While it would not be impossible for KB to have kept from her family any break-up, it is far more likely he was lying to his friends and other people. Men who cheat (as he did on the woman in the hospital) lie about the relationships they are in, they sneak around and they often lie about many things as they try for their next "conquest". Scott Peterson would be a perfect example of that--with his lies to Amber Frey. As someone stated above, it is likely he will also attempt to shred KB's character in his attempt to twist the truth and save his own hind end. Such people are so very disgusting on so many levels. imho.

The IMO stands for In my opinion. The police are probably (and the press) talking to his neighbors. IMO

I won't be surprised to find out that they had indeed broken up a while back. I think he was over her and stewing about how to get her out of his life for a long time.
ITA about him being over her, but did she really know how bad their 'relationship' whatever it was had become? He could have been scheming all of this behind her back. I wish I knew if she had any idea what was really happening?

It’s not possible she knew he had been plotting to murder her for almost 3 months, IMO. Even if the relationship had degraded to the lowest point possible, she would’ve gone to the police and refused access to baby k if she thought her life was in danger. She had a child to protect and from the little we know of her, Kelsey would do what’s best for her baby. Imo

Didn't one of Kelsey's neighbors state she often saw his truck there overnight? I'd have to look through. Hard to state the answer to the dairy farm without breaking TOS, but let's just say that if hypothetically the LS owns a dairy farm, then he would lease a bull from someone for his cows, and LS stated that he leased a bull from Frazee. That Frazee has a bull doesn't necessarily mean he has a large number of cattle, most people who lease out a bull don't have a large herd (which was what I was responding to from a previous poster who seemed to be making an assumption that because Frazee had a bull he must then also have "many cows"). I was shorthanding a response, something I need to stop doing! :)
Edited to add: I've looked through the timeline articles and I can't find the one I was looking for. I did find one where a neighbor said that she saw Frazee coming and going from Kelsey's home often, and maybe I made the jump to "spending the night". I'm retracting that sentence since it looks like I made an assumption.
