There has been no report of neighbor's seeing PF at her house during those 10 days- I am sure they interviewed all of them for that information, which is sealed. I wonder if they saw him there during those 10 days? That would be interesting to know.

I thought there was one MSM of his red truck present.

I personally hope that there is no plea deal agreed unless he gives up where Kelsey’s remains are so her family can have a funeral. That should be a non-negotiable condition of any plea deal. Their daughter should not be denied the possibility of visiting her Mother’s grave when she is older.

You know what looks strange? Judging by the thoroughness of the cleaning PF performed, he comes across as somewhat obsessive-compulsive. (Cleaning and disposing of the body are the only stages he performed well). It would be strange for such a type to leave edibles on the table.
Might have been a little tricky finding the end of the Saran Wrap with cleaning gloves on :)

I don't think poster literally meant running. I took it to mean how one would run out to do errands. Imo
Not too far fetched, considering CB was surprised her hair wasn't done. Quick run with baby in stroller/carrier from her house. Errand while exercise.. JMO
KB WAS very fit.. Google maps say 28 min walk.

The thoroughness f the cleanup points to a female, especially a detail-oriented, meticulous female, like a nurse. MOO.

SP looks great, unfortunately. I know an investigator from out of state who had to go to San Quentin to escort a prisoner back to Virginia who was going to be prosecuted there for a murder. He said he saw SP and the guy looked happy, healthy, and was playing basketball with his friends, as if he was at summer camp without a care in the world.

SP has none of the stress associated with day to day life.

Did I remember to pay the electric bill, can I afford new tires, am I going to lose my job, how will I get money for a new roof, his largest decision is what to order from commissary. Imo

Boy all these characters in this. You can't make this stuff up. People write fiction books that don't have these many twists in them.

Yup....Nurse Machete Melanie McGuire.
And, imo, a less messy crime than some.

Didn’t the 2nd charge that includes robbery come out after the 2nd search? If so, I know this might be far fetched, but do you think KB had a safe in the house and certain items (that her mom knew of) were missing? Maybe LE found some of those things at the dump? Or maybe, someone advised LE about PF forcing her to open the safe? Would there be loud banging if they were trying to open it or remove it to take prints and check DNA? MOO

That would be one hell of a workout, especially carrying a 15 month old child in a baby carrier.

Carrying groceries back in addition to that, would be quite impressive.

She drove, I’m very confident of that.

Had she walked, law enforcement would have likely asked for witnesses to come forward, people who could shed light on if she was followed.

Does anyone else see the irony in having a three page discussion on whether or not alleged murderer(s) would illegally or unethically obtain a drug they may or may not wish to use in their alleged murder plot?
Yes- I don't know which has me puzzled more- folks going on about a murderer possibly using a drug illegally, or the fact that a nurse might have been involved in someone's disappearance. Apparently, murderers don't use illegal means to kill their victims, and nurses are exempt from being evil and cold hearted murderers or accomplices.

Well, that's a question I have per the wrongful death filing- are the Berreth's saying that the abuse mentioned (emotional, suffering, etc) occurred only shortly before/during her homicide? Or are they saying that
there was a history of abuse throughout their relationship?
I understood it as referring to the murder. The circumstances surrounding the event. As if it were particularly cruel and prolonged.

Although I do not doubt that he may have been mentally or emotionally abusive during their relationship. Imo

I wonder about the fireplace inside the townhome. It's one thing to clean drywall, even a ceiling, or linoleum, bathroom tiles or tub, even most kitchen cabinets. But the upper fireplace is wood, the lower is stone. I don't know how completely wood could ever be cleaned of blood spatter or tissue. Maybe they needed a ladder to reach the upper area.

Those tiles on the fireplace could have been removed. Blood could have seeped into the grout and under the tiles.

I wonder if Patrick has a small fishing cabin somewhere. Could it be that PF gave the key to the remote cabin to the killer(s) to be able to dispose of KB's body without anyone seeing them?
imo

Lots of small fishing cabins all along the South Platte River in Deckers CO (Douglas county), which isn't far from him at all.

As one of the verified attorneys asked, how can you bring a civil suit for murder, if the victim has not yet been declared dead. I think that might be one issue here.

Well, you have five counts filed that say she is murdered or caused to be murdered going to trial. The evidence in a civil proceeding is clear and convincing evidence. By the time the evidence becomes available for the civil proceeding they will have enough to prove her death. These individuals just don't file felony cases or civil cases without evidence.

I don't know.. Maybe because I am from the city, but "Rodeo Queen of the Magic Valley Stampede"?? Jeez, they will give a crown for anything, huh?!
Somewhere I read, possibly from her HS friend that said in a MSM interview, that "she comes from a great family"..

So... #1- She is a previous "rodeo queen" ie, lots of local know and voted for this girl.
#2- Well educated.. Earning your RN is NO small feat
#3- From the looks of the video posted of the news clip outside her house, appears to be living a comfortable life (speculation) Nice size house, loots of land. Now I have no clue the value of CO real estate, but I can guess, its worth some money..

WHY on this great green earth would convince this woman to help this guy get away with this??????

PF= master manipulator OR he has something on her.?.. What is in her past we have no idea about.. Only thing that makes me speculate why she got caught up in this..

It all makes NO sense IMO

All of us (hopefully) have one person that will stand behind us. Her friend probably wouldn’t be her friend if she came from a “not nice family”. None of us can conceive of our friend or family member doing things like this. But, it happens.

We are really fortunate to have several attorneys here on KB's forum.

@gitana1, @PrairieWind, @Mercedes, @riolove77, if/as you have time, could you please share your insights about whether and how the B's civil suit will impact the criminal investigation?

My (very limited) understanding of how it works is that the civil and criminal cases should be conducted as parallel investigations, i.e., like railroad tracks, running side by side but never touching. Is that correct? Can evidence/discovery be shared between the 2 or would that jeopardize the criminal case?

Evidence in one case can be used in another. It's interesting that they filed this now, before they're coming close to the two year statute of limitations. Because they can't force him to answer questions or reveal evidence that could incriminate him criminally.

But perhaps they don't think they need to. They can use this to question witnesses and perhaps get info that could help them in the custody case. And also as some have suggested to try to freeze assets.

And to possibly assist in some ways in the criminal case.

It's interesting. They know a lot. There's a strategic reason for this.

It's going to be an interesting case.

ETA! Sorry for using the word "interesting" three time!! As you can I'm highly curious about what's happening in this case.

Are you serious? Google map her house to safeway.. 28 minutes.

Far fetched? You put that car seat carrier attached to a jogging stroller and put the groceries underneath the stroller in a basket.
I have done this..MANY times.

NOT far fetched at all.

IMO. KK probably had little knowledge of what was happening. She’s a woman and a mother and I can’t even fathom the thought that she would want to be involved in KB’s death. Even if she was infatuated with PF and he had her believing all his lies, I still don’t see a woman and a mother doing this for love. JMO

He will enter his plea before prelim, not on the day of. I am not sure when. I need to look into this for CO law and get back to you.

But yes, 63 days from when he enters his plea.

ETA I'm seeing some articles saying he was arraigned last Monday? Is this true?

"Arraignment hearings" in Colorado criminal cases

Hey, rio, I'm confident you can decipher the above article from the Colorado Legal Defense Group much better than I can...after reading it, I'm still unclear about whether arraignment and prelim are one and the same or distinct. Also, still trying to figure out where PF is at in the pipeline as far as the hearings process. Color me confused at this point.

Anyone, anyone?
