Having her phone helped, he knew if she had calls or texts coming in, until, the phone was ditched.

Yes, but wouldn't he have had to leave her phone turned on in order to monitor incoming texts/calls?

Ping, ping, ping, ping.

Do you think KB made more income than PF?
I do not. I think he should have easily tripled if not quadrupled her salary. In half the hours. Jmo
I don't. For one thing, he claimed the cattle business was hurting his income and the reason they couldn't marry. Did he report his full income to the IRS to pay taxes? I seriously doubt it.

PF didn't have employer-supplied benefits such as 401(k), health care, life insurance, vacation days, company stock, etc. He had to pay all social security/FICA taxes. He melted-down after his horse failed to win at a rodeo. None of his actions reflect a significant income. JMO

I forgot, you’re the perfect person to ask.

Hypothetically, say that PF did some painting in Kelsey’s house, do you think it would still leave a detectable odor after 10 (ish) days?

And, would it not stick out like a sore thumb? Say one wall was painted?
I just don’t think any painting occurred. It’s such a messy, time consuming job. IMO

Chase Merritt got away with a paint-over in CA murder of the McStays, and he didn't even clean up the paint trays.

I’m only speculating, obviously.
It’s possible she walked in, bent over to set the baby carrier on the floor and was choked then & there. If someone got her from behind, she had no recourse. Moo

Totally get that, she couldn't have stopped it from happening, but you can still leave some good marks in the seconds- minutes of panic that you have. He may not have cared about her fingernails carrying dna because he had a plan to get rid of the body. But marks on himself- harder. Bruises on your legs- cover that with pants til they are gone. If he wore a face mask and gloves maybe there are no marks...

I think her friends are being respectful of the family & remaining silent. IMO, nothing they might say can change a thing.
I hope that is true .

I ask, because that’s exactly what Charles “Chase” Merritt did, when he murdered the McStay family.

Police initially missed blood evidence, on several searches of the house.

Merritt had painted over blood splatter on the walls.

We only know Kelsey told her mother that was the hold up in the wedding...she may have been making excuses, who knows.

I think his melt down was a reaction to him blaming his horse for PF failing to rope “sharp” that night. A lot of drinking goes on at rodeos, tempers flare. The amount he might have won would not been life changing. Moo
I’m sure his income is pretty much all off the books. I recall CB mentioning low cattle prices. IMO, that is a lie PF told KB, possibly.

I’m not surprised the neighbors or other locals didn’t report KB missing. I’m KBs age and while I don’t have a child, my whole life consists of my career and when I get home, that’s my sanctuary. I don’t really know anyone around, save for a couple people at the dog park, and I think they would assume I was busy at work or on a short trip if I didn’t show up with my dog for a week. No one knows me well enough to be concerned.

Now, my phone and social media use is a different story. Within 24 hours someone would sound the alarm, likely lots of someone(s). So that part is different, unless KB has virtually no online presence either, and maybe text a couple of close friends every several days or so.

I guess as odd as it seems, it’s really not beyond the realm of possibility.
Very few people know their neighbors like they did years ago.

Also she just moved into the house and may have recently painted it and already had left over paint that was actually on the walls, which would have been quite convenient. Ceiling splatter though, I hate painting ceilings so for me that would be like the cars, whatever leave it... LOL, i would be caught.

Well, I'm a fighter. 5'3, sadly not 110lbs, lol. If cornered i bite and scratch and kick. My punch is pretty lame but I am really great at finger bending. He would get me in the end, but I would leave him looking like a cat got him. So he might do better with a weapon and the element of suprise would be extremely helpful as well.
Did you say you sat in on the Bernardo trial? That makes you a Canadian girl too.....best not to mess with in the first place sister!

True. If CB was curious, “are you ever getting married”, KB might have told her cattle prices were too low. Her mom & dad would see thru that since they had an ag’ background, imo.

I was thinking about this when they were removing things from her home. KB's family at first glance didn't notice anything. The same thing with the McStay's family, and wasn't the timing about the same, almost 2 weeks before someone went into the house?

Yes, I think very close.

55? Is it 1972? Isn’t the speed limit at least 65 or 70? (That wasn’t meant to sound snarky. It’s late.)

I think the intended point was that on the twisty little one-lane highways, even assuming you'll be able to average 55 is too much. Sharp turns, watching for deer (if not cows -- is CO open range?) not to mention the slow-moving tractor that is always there in front of you when you're in a hurry...

Normally, I'd agree, Trudie, and apologies in advance to the group, because I know I sound like a broken record, but for approximately the 48th time tonight:

This is PF we're talking about here, so yeah, I can see him doing it.

Lol. I do not know him like some of you must.

I've never seen photos of a ring, perhaps she told her mother there would be a wedding and she was "engaged" (her mom was very religious from what we read) but there were never any real plans? Just a thought.
