I do not disagree with what you are saying at all. And after sleeping on it and re-reading/rewatching the video I can see that I misinterpreted a portion of the interview.I wholeheartedly agree with this post.
There is absolutely no way of knowing whether it would have made one single whit of difference had the R's or KK's friend contacted LE. We'll never know.
I'm sure the unanswerable, "What if I had called LE?" question will haunt both the R's and KK's friend for a long, long time. I actually feel quite badly for them. JMO.
The blame lies elsewhere and needs to be laid solely/wholly/entirely at the feet of the individual(s) who actively planned and executed the murder.
I do think that had KK reported the solicitation attempt(s) to LE and/or contacted KB to alert her to the danger that PF posed to her, KB would still be alive.
IMO, the only individuals who could have prevented KB's murder are PF and KK.
I think what people are expressing is the frustration that, yet another window of opportunity to make a difference for KB was wasted. Was it their responsibility...no...but most people on this site are not bystanders in life. We take notice of the little odd details...the details that indeed can make a difference. And when we see these small details, but they are missed elsewhere, we get very frustrated. It seems this couple even feels this now, although after the fact. I sensed regret. That's a shame. I'm sure now they wish they had maybe asked a few more questions, or taken more interest at the start, or wonder if there was anything else they could do to have LE take a look. Sometimes that extra question or extra moment can make all the difference, but it didn't happen this time. But that did not happen and now we will ever know for sure....only that there was a tiny window of opportunity and while we may have noticed the importance at the time, they did not for whatever reason.
