Yes. It would be a small circle. How many spouses or significant others would know the first and last names of their spouse's/SO's supervisor or HR contact. I know I wouldn't. That is why I would like to know if the contact that the message went to was a specific person or a generic destination.
Plus... who besides her or a co-worker would be concerned enough to let work know she wasn't coming in. Not worried about fiance, not worried about family... just make sure work knows. Weird

I think if someone transported her phone to Idaho, (regardless of how they got it there) in order to draw suspicion away from them, they would probably also send a text to themselves saying she was in Idaho for some reason.

Great post, and we have indeed seen all of the above numerous times. The only thing that is throwing me off is her cell phone pinging in Idaho. Something seems off!

Thanks!

To me it seems kind of obvious that someone went on a roadtrip in the couple days after Nov 22nd to get rid of a body/evidence as well as create a diversion to another location hundreds of miles away.

No one was yet aware that Kelsey was missing, other than the fiance. It's a holiday weekend. Suddenly KB's phone turns on and pings in Idaho. And lo and behold 2 texts are sent (only 2). Fiance & work. This was a manufactured alibi. Kelsey wasn't alive in Idaho. Her 2 cars were still at her house.

She might have had "Work" in her contacts. That would allow someone that she doesn't know well to contact her employer. Otherwise, IMHO, it had to be her, or someone who knew her well that sent the text to her employer. The 'someone who knew her well' would also have to know the name of her fiancé, because she probably listed him by name in her contacts (assumption).

Same with Chris Watts

And most other perps. I mean it's not like they have the word "killer" tattooed on their forehead. Or go around 24/7 acting like they will kill someone. People, in general, are very arrogant when someone they know commits murder. They couldn't possibly know a killer! Therefore, their friend, neighbor, relative is innocent! Drives me nuts.

I am also wondering if she didn't get along with his mother, which could have caused some strife between them. Going by yesterday's post by what appears to possibly be a family member of his- it seemed like they didn't approve of her having a career. If the entire family or most of the family feels this way, it could very well be that he was torn between Kelsey and his family, most especially his Mom. He also might feel guilty, leaving her alone to live with Kelsey elsewhere, where she is disabled (according to that person who posted yesterday). This can be a tricky situation in any relationship, and perhaps Kelsey ended up doing her own thing- working, buying a home, keeping her independence, and he was caught between the two. Maybe Kelsey had had enough of the mama's boy situation and kept her distance from his family. Then again, I could be way off.

I wonder if LE has plans to search their property yet? He did voluntarily give his phone over and did a DNA test, so he could very well be innocent of anything, other than the fact that he put his family first over her.

I am still trying to understand the cinnamon rolls, and why they are important to this case. It was brought up for a reason, in my opinion. I can't see how any food item on the counter is important unless it tells LE that she had no intentions of leaving on her own. As far as her purse and phone being missing- if there is a perp involved, they could have grabbed those items themselves.

I wonder did she call anyone else besides the fiance and her Mom on Nov 22nd?

I am still wondering if any credit card or debit card of hers has been used since then. That would tell LE a lot.

This is interesting about him living with his mom who is disabled. I’m anxious to get verification of whether he is indeed a caretaker for her. I have heard/read numerous times that stress levels are the HIGHEST amongst caretakers (of the ill/disabled). Add to that, a one year old baby, alleged financial difficulties, a holiday.... not a good recipe. MOO. Speculation only. I haven’t seen a link about his mother being disabled. Anyone else?

I agree with many of the posters suggesting that many details fit a typical patten and we may eventually find the answer that matches that typical pattern.

However, because this case has so many interesting nuances and things that make us scratch our heads regarding timing and information, I keep wondering if maybe there is another obvious pattern that we may be missing because the information to the public is so limited right now.

So, just thinking out loud... We know that KB moved to CO two years ago and had a job she spent a lot of time at working and commuting.

Outside of her family and co-workers, who else does she have in her circle of trust? Friends from church? Friends with a similar interest or hobby? Friends from town? Friends from other states? Friends from online circles?

Church seems like the most likely visible friends (to others), but what would be some invisible friends (to her family and PF) that she may trust that may not have an obvious physical or digital trail to their relationship / friendship?

Any other ideas on ways she may have spent her time or people she may have spent time with that would seamlessly blend in to her life but could be a possible missing link to the way she vanished?

On another note, I hope WP has good weather for the vigil tonight. Last night we had some howling winds! Brrrrrrr!

moo!

I just saw the CBS this morning interview with the mom. She says it's unlike KB to just up and leave her daughter behind, but then says she believes she will be found 100% ok. I wonder if she's in denial or knows something that we don't know yet. It just seems odd.
I don't find it odd. Mollie Tibbetts' parents remained hopeful she was alive until the very end when Rivera was arrested. CB has made it clear that she is a woman with deep, abiding faith so I don't find it odd she remains hopeful. JMO

And I want to say someone posted yesterday that the press conf. was announced 24 hours in advance, not one hour.
In the announcement for the press conference that was issued on Sunday December 9th they said they were going to hold a press conference on Monday afternoon December 10th with the exact time and place to be announced later.

Woodland Park Police Department

All press releases on the Woodland Park Police Department Facebook page are images rather than text.
I have attached a copy of the image at that link - PC-FirstAnnouncement.

On December 10th at 1:14pm (Mountain Time) they posted their next announcement of the press conference and stated it would be held at 2:00pm (Mountain Time) and where.

Woodland Park Police Department

I have attached a copy of the image at that link - PC-AnnouncementTimeLocation.

The announcement was published on the FB page 46 minutes before the Press Conference. It seems that certainly the Police Chief, CBI person, and mother knew when and where it would be held and had plenty of time to prepare what they were going to say and not say. And it certainly would be the case that the media was also given more than an hour's time to get there and set up.

So the question is, when exactly did law enforcement invite PF to the press conference and did they tell him when an where? His lawyer claims PF had only one hour notice and I believe him considering the way law enforcement was using that press conference to target PF. The smartest thing PF did was not appear at that press conference. He would have had no time to prepare and he would have not known what was going to come out of law enforcement while he would be standing there. Not to mention that the media fiasco that took place the next day would have taken place right there in front of Kelsey's mother instead - and that would be exactly what law enforcement wanted.

I would think "skeletal remains" would indicate something happened to that person more than a few weeks ago. JMO. Sad for whomever it turns out to be.
