Go back and listen to the CBS video of CB, and think about what the Aunt reported. Can’t you hear that they all think she has it the road but isn’t like her to do? CB doesn’t want to go down that road, that something else has happened (her murder in CO) , her Aunt days they broke up and she left to see family- They ate all believing the story given by PF in the beginning that KB left!
Because they don't want to consider the alternative.

I live in EST and really should go to bed. But this one I have to answer.
She knew he was going to kill Kelsey because he asked her to do it. Maybe she didn’t know when so....WHY did she go to see him ever??!!!
Seems Like she would be driving to California, not Colorado!
I don’t know. Maybe she told him he was crazy after each attempt and he said something as simple as, “Yeah, it is crazy.” In her mind she changed his mind and in his, he knew he had to surprise her with the info. If she was head over heals, maybe that would be enough to convince herself he was still a good guy.

As I said, to someone else, she’s guilty either way of making terrible decisions, but I just wondered if there was a way she could still have a smaller role than what we all have been speculating lately. It would explain lack of charges thus far and explain the fearing for a witness’ safety. I also think it might be a reason why the phone ping was so close to her house. Maybe she wanted to be caught, but was too scared of PF to go directly to LE. All speculation obviously.

I think so too, but why not send those in Utah? It is still along KB's route, but also another 400 (guessing) miles from Twin Falls. It makes the drive to Washington still feasible, but doesn't put LE looking for a phone in your backyard.

ETA: I don't actually expect a response to the question. Just thinking out loud.

That is exactly what I would've done had it been me. And I freely admit that because there is no chance whatsoever I will ever be in that situation.

She's then an Accessory After the Fact and facing prison.

Do they still have prison rodeos or did I see that in some movie?

She could still be Prison Rodeo Queen.
Not to go off topic, but this made me think of a segment of CBS Sunday morning about Angelo Prison Rodeo. They do still have them. IMO murderers, rapists, etc. shouldn't have the privilege to partake. Sadly when I was looking for an article one of the first ones that came up about this famous prison rodeo was about a girl being raped at the event by an inmate. :-(

Don't you think he was planning to kill her anyway? Hence the solicitation for 2 months prior?
well i do remember that PF told somebody that they broke up ~1/2018 but i considered that bull. then it was i think in oct 2018. but if that was the case i would have thought KB would have told her mom. maybe KB did not tell her mom and KB did break up in oct which started the ball rolling with PF. question i have is if CB[mom] was aware of the break up? PF did not think CB was aware so he said they just broke up on Thanksgiving. i understand your point on the times. it seems to me that PF stating that CB broke up gives a motive for PF actions.

On a side note, as I think about the crimes, and I watch these people make mistake after mistake.... I wonder, are these people THAT stupid because I would never and I would've done it this way or that way... or am I (and fellow sleuthers) just exceptionally smart and savvy? lol...
I bet PF thought the same when he heard about the Watt’s case! :D

This is pretty typical at the beginning. Everyone is in shock and they don't want to believe anything else. They also don't believe in the evilness in people around them. (unless it is a hx of DV, thats different)

If PF presented to everyone as a relatively nice guy, you don't even believe it could be a possibility that he was involved and she is missing. That happens as the shock wears off and logic kicks in.

Been there, done that..

Haha me too, to both parts of your statement!

I think every criminal scenario has nuances that you couldn't predict. It's a moving target, so to speak. So now you are flustered, anxious, and stressed because of what you've just done AND you're trying to cover up these things you didn't account for. I think we all can plan a "perfect crime," but it's unlikely all the variables line up as they did in our plan.

Sure, for actual nuances. What we are discussing here aren't nuances though, these mistakes are HUGE blunders. Same with Chris Watts, HUGE blunders.

People have gotten away with crimes, some of them obviously so. Most likely due to sharp critical thinking skills and anticipating the thoughts of others (investigators). Things which I have, and most likely everyone here has, but not with culprits in the cases I have followed, it seems.

I would assume she kept it because she needed to wait and send the texts yes?

Yes. I thought I read the texts were sent in the morning and the phone pinged in Gooding around 5:30 pm. I didn't catch were the texts were sent from tho.

So, good question.

I agree with this whole heartedly. So for as much as we are all (most all) pretty frustrated with Mr. and Mrs. R, they appear to be the people who got this case moving forward. I hate that they didn't speak up in October, but they could have continued to not speak up, and there might not have been progress. I'm appreciative, for KB's sake, that they decided they needed to say something eventually.
It seems it would have been worse if they hadn't eventually spoken up. imo

Yes, now, after his truck was spotted in her driveway that day, but supposedly his initial response was she dropped the baby off with him and took off.
I think it was a misunderstanding with the media in the beginning and what her aunt had said about KB dropping the baby off. The initial WPPD timeline posted on 12/12 has him picking her up on the afternoon of 11/22.

Imagine KK’s drive home. Her heart had to be pounding.
Think of the paranoia each time LE vehicles passed her, lol. I’m sure she was running on adrenaline and caffeine.
I would have to confess. I’d be a nervous wreck.

Chris Watts' mistakes were so enormous my toddler wouldn't have made them. Seriously? Her phone, turned off, in the couch. SHANANN'S phone, turned off in the couch. No, dude. No.

Perhaps. It will be a point I will be listening for once everything comes out.

Hopefully, for her sake, not after eating that God-forsaken garbage at Sonic (assuming that bit is true). I

I agree. Am wondering if actual evidence of a crime on her part is hard to nail down.

clu, I think LE has her dead to rights on accessory after the fact r/t the disposal of the cell phone/sending the texts to KB's employer, etc.

ITA w/ you that LE faces a greater challenge trying to both determine the scope of her involvement and to gather all the evidence against her than they do with nailing PF's hide.

It would be a horrible miscarriage of justice if the DA cut a deal prematurely only to discover too late that she had any type of active role in KB's murder. IMO, LE is being rightfully cautious and methodical...letting her talk and then seeing if she's being truthful and whether what she's giving them has real evidentiary value in the case against PF.

With regard to anything issuing forth out of KK's pie-hole, LE should be adopting a
strict "(Mis)trust and (Triple) Verify" policy. JMO.
