Realistically, those 5 charges would never get her 30 years. Rapists and killers don't always get 30 years.

JMO IMO MOO

Okay but you get my drift. Maybe, consecutively, they could add up to 15 or 20 so you drop some and she gets 5-10 or whatever. Anything but probation and a public shaming which doesn't cut it.

If what we think we know is correct - she was in possession of a murder victim's phone, transported it to another state and made fraudulent texts in order to delay and obstruct and investigation and protect a killer, that's a LOT. Sure drop some charges/plea down but not to next to nothing! This is murder, not something like drug trafficking. It deserves prison time.

Imo they have PFs case locked up. I personally think they have info directly from another accomplice under seal. I honestly believe this will all come out before long. Until then my foot is tapping, my chair has been dusted, and I’m pretending patience until K shows up this morning!

Will there be live feed - I think I read there was going to be....

And tweets?

I haven't had time to watch all of the news footage about the latest PF custody hearing but a headline said PF had to wear a flack jacket. But in the footage, he was just wearing the striped prison clothes.
Maybe they were replaying the original custody hearing.

Can someone tell me, is the very, very tall woman in red, PF's sister?
Idk, if very tall, but tall, dark hair, red jacket - yes, has to be her.

Honest question. What’s the harm in waiting a a couple of days to find out the truth instead of throwing darts at the board with accusations?

I speculate on cold cases but some people just attack and wish ill will on people. Don’t understand the reason as it makes me not want to follow this case.
I’m with you, though it seems to be a minority view. You do have an Ignore feature here that can be used.

I'm not a regular and nobody has ever attacked me when I've posted about presumption of innocence. I understand revulsion at lynch mob mentality but I don't think that's going on here.

Whatever the degree of KK's involvement, you need to take ito account that we KNOW that she knew PF was plotting the murder of Kelsey Berreth and she chose not to go to police and save Kelsey's life. That alone is enough to say she is not fit to work with ANY vulnerable people or have access to medical facilities, products or patient information. A bank wouldn't give her a job as a teller knowing this stuff and she sure as hell should never be able to practice nursing again.
Even if we accept that she knew PF was plotting KB’s murder and actually believed he was serious, we still don’t know all the dynamics around that. We don’t know what he said to her exactly, what lies he told, what leverage he used, if abuse was involved. Maybe some of the above elements were present; maybe none of them were. I’m content to wait to pass judgment until more comes out. It’s difficult to read really strong opinions about someone when there isn’t evidence yet, only rumors. But that’s why we take breaks when we need to.

Good morning :) TGIF! It's 5:10 am and KK should be freezing her fanny off today at 9 degrees +windchill. Can't wait for this (train-wreck) show to get on the road today so we can learn some (possible) truths and steer away from some of the misleading reporting. I'd like to see some wheels of justice turning in KB & family's favor for a change. moo

Yes, I believe the Denver channel has the live feed for the pool that they will be sharing with everyone else. It starts at 10:30 am Eastern, 8:30 am their time. If they are on time that is.

Another person to follow on Twitter regarding today's hearing is @AshleyKKTV. Here is her last post:

Krystal Lee will be in court tomorrow for the first time. She's connected to the #KelseyBerreth case. She's facing charges of tampering with evidence. I'll be at the Teller County courthouse from sun up to sun down. I'll be tweeting all updates as soon as we get them! @KKTV11News

Oh I thought I read she had an afternoon time slot! Either they got it wrong or they changed it, I did think afternoon sounded strange.
Thanks NS.

I don’t know the exact extent of KK’s involvement.

But what is still bothering me, and has always bothered me since we first found out about the 3 solicitations...

What is it about KRYSTAL that made PF solicit HER to murder KB? We don’t know of anyone else he solicited. That’s a big ask.

In my mind, this alone makes me question her character and what she is actually capable of.

MOO

That answer will come in time, if in fact she was even the one he solicited. Unless my memory is faulty, the only connection of KKL to the solicitation comes on the word of the R couple. And that is far from a direct line of information when you consider that they allegedly got it from their employee who allegedly got it from KKL who allegedly got it from PF.

I really don’t know why he would have asked her to do it over someone else. Sure she was someone from out of the area. But there was still a connection to him that people knew about, as we have seen after-the-fact. But maybe there was no one else that he felt comfortable asking, and to go ask a complete stranger would be too risky. So maybe she was the only one who he thought might say yes, or might keep quiet if she didn’t.

I know it’s frustrating, but don’t give up on this case yet.

KK is not a co-conspirator. Legally, that requires her to have accepted his solicitation and for them to have planned the crime together, and at least one of them to have taken a solid step towards the plan. We know this didn’t happen because PF is charged with solicitation and not conspiracy. And I’m of the opinion he’s charged with exactly what he did.

If the court charged and convicted on moral grounds, she would most certainly be getting life in prison. But it doesn’t. I believe the DAs case has so far shaped up so show that KK was solicited more than once, declined each time (but didn’t report it), PF then carried out the murder himself, and then involved her in the aftermath. I think she took the phone home with her on 11/24, sent the messages and tossed or destroyed it on 11/25.

This whole situation angers us so much because she KNEW before and helped AFTER. This means she’s a horrible human being in every possible sense. But if there’s no evidence to show she accepted his solicitation or agreed to a plan to murder or helped him murder or helped him get rid of the body...they can’t charge her with it. No evidence = no conviction.

She’s getting a pretty good deal, it sounds like, from what we know. This seems to us so incredibly backwards. This person knew before AND helped after, and she gets a deal?? But the truth is, if she would only be legally liable to an accessory after charge otherwise, and they give her tampering in exchange for whatever evidence she has that the DA deems worthy of this exchange, then they’re making the right decision.

Thanks for helping us with this case.

One thing I found very interesting is it appears that by definition what she did (if she helped dispose of the phone) was nothing short of
"Accessory after the Fact" and so I hope LE has that charge ready if she does not follow through with her committments to testify fully against PF.

The really interesting thing is I found this example for what a penalty would be for "Accessory after the Fact" if the crime was committed against the US and it shows that she could/should get up to 1/2 of the same penalty the original criminal gets. That sounds much more appealing right now. :)

ETA Colorado's laws and actual penalties would hopefully be similar as far as severity.

"Except as otherwise expressly provided by any Act of Congress, an accessory after the fact shall be imprisoned not more than one-half the maximum term of imprisonment or (notwithstanding section 3571) fined not more than one-half the maximum fine prescribed for the punishment of the principal, or both"

18 U.S. Code § 3 - Accessory after the fact
