I think the part of KB figuring out what she was going to do was PF's explanation for her going away for a while and him not worrying about it. It was meant to take suspicion off himself.

I think it is a lie to explain why LE would not find the gun when they searched KB's house. PF used the gun to kill KB and then he took the gun.

He didn't want custody, he wanted control of both the baby but also her mother so he took it. PF said those hateful things about her daughter to further emotionally torment CB. And he clearly has no empathy for his own child's emotional well-being by taking away her mother so abruptly. Really makes me wonder if PF's mother played a role. The Wagner clan all pitched in to take custody of the Rhoden baby.

I don't know how CB held it together, either. Especially during the time PF still had control of the baby.
