The DA made KK one sweetie beauty of a deal in exchange for her testimony. IMO, terms of her deal will include requiring her to appear in person to testify at his trial. She is going to have to march her queenly behind right straight past PF at the defendant's table to go take the stand.

At which point, she will proceed to hang him out to dry with her testimony.

KK will be forced to stare at PF squarely in the face as she damns him with her own words. So, there's that, at least.

KK will not be allowed to hide behind a camera. The DA will want the jury to get the full impact of her testimony. Cameras dilute that.

If he's smart, he'll take a plea deal in exchange for KB's location.
Oh, sorry, wait, what am I saying....

JMO.

And I can't WAIT for that all to happen! She deserves every bit of the Karma she gets. :D

9 am MT tomorrow can't come soon enough to get this ball rolling. Justice for Kelsey!

Imo PF is not gonna cop a plea to anything. Period. He will deny, deny, deny to the end so it’s paramount that LE have their ducks in a row

I always think the defendant will opt for a deal once the pros/cons are on the table. But, we do have the Scott P type that would rather spend life as an “innocent man”.

The Amended Complaint is the civil suit really adds no information to the criminal case at this time. It provides two laundry lists of alleged lies told by PF, one list occuring before 11/22/2018 and one list occuring on 12-2 and 12-3-2018. While it describes the presumed opportunity for PF to have killed KB in great detail, the presumption is based on nothing more that is proven (yet) than the WPPD has already publicly stated as the basis of the still sealed Arrest Affidavit. The only statement of fact it contains that is newer than the arrest is in reference to KKL's plea.
I'm NOT saying there is anything faulty with the Amended Complaint. It just is not going to have any affect on the prosecution at this time. IMO
Although there may be many reasons for the civil lawsuit which are unknown to me at this time, a criminal conviction can be extremely useful in a civil trial based on the same incident, ending up saving Beteths time and expense. They can use the fact that the defendant was convicted in a criminal trial to help prove that the defendant committed the act that hurt them, (which is often a time-consuming component of a civil trial). Once PF is convicted and sentenced, he is not allowed to re-litigate the factual issues underlying the conviction in a subsequent legal matter.
Bereths would then typically obtain a summary judgment on the issue of the defendant’s liability, and the only issue left for the judge or jury to decide is the amount of damages PF owes them.

Both the Prosecutor's office and the Public Defender's office were closed today. My guess is that if you go out to eat tonight in Cripple Creek, you may be able to spot members of both groups, doing the same. That would leave PF as the only cast member expected to travel tomorrow morning, unless he is already a guest of the Cripple Creek Police Department for the night. I hope he remembered to bring a warm vest. IMO

ot They can always hang out at the Brass 🤬🤬🤬 (it's a casino) for a while and shoot some craps while they wait :)

do they ever cancel court if the weather is bad enough? or do you just have get a bigger wheeled vehicle with chains and tough it out?
I've heard of courts in Colorado being cancelled. But I think a max of 5" of snow is expected overnight, which is a normal storm, so the roads will be passable and life business as usual. I'd say you're going to need about 18" of snow to really start shutting things down (if not more) especially for government offices.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I live in Colorado Springs and this case has my attention! There’s not been much regarding the case by way of our local news so I like to read all of the wonderful sluthers thoughts and posts when I can. Regarding Thanksgiving, I assume he didn’t go to have a meal at Cracker Barrel with KB but I do know that Cracker Barel was one of the few restaurants open that day and the served traditional turkey dinner. I imagine the few restaurants that are in Woodland Park were closesd. Just my two cents. & JMO
Welcome to Websleuths! It's great to have another local poster on the board!

Yeah, I don't think they went to Cracker Barrel either, but he might have told KB that's where he planned to take her. I don't think he's quick enough to think of which restaurants were open Thanksgiving Day on the fly. MOO

If I read the amendment right, the Cracker Barrel was considered a lie by Barreths. Again if I understood that right Cheryl does not believe they were at Cracker Barrel

I think that CB knew that every time he opened his pie-hole, it was a bold-faced lie. She's one tough lady to stand up at that original presser with a poker face because of PF. My heart still weeps for her. Saying a prayer for KB's family tonight before bed.

Yes that’s what I read too. That is why I said I assume he didn’t go there. I was just making a point that the restaurant was only one of very few open that day. He very well could have looked online to verify it was open when planning his call to CB. Or maybe he took KK there?

bbm I was wondering that too. If maybe there wasn't *some* type of truth to that Cracker Barrel story. But I don't believe for one second it had to do with taking Kelsey to any dinner.

eta Welcome to WS, neighbor! Old Colorado City here, next to the Garden of the Gods :)

CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. – The preliminary hearing for Patrick Frazee, who is accused of killing his fiancée Kelsey Berreth, is set to begin Tuesday morning in a Teller County courtroom, where prosecutors will try to show the court they have enough probable cause to continue with the felony charges against him.

Patrick Frazee set for preliminary hearing Tuesday

BBM:

If PF did that, we're going to have to invent a whole new word for the English language, because stupid, imbecilic and/or moronic just won't even begin to describe it.

I'm thinking MassGuy's right, and we need to go ahead and add the word "Frazeed" to the lexicon.

Because if PF took KK to the Cracker Barrel on the 22nd, he really outfrazeed even himself with that move.

With all due respect, there’s been enough “crap shooting” for this rodeo. Jmo
I’ve lived in hideously snowy climates & court was never cancelled. Maybe delayed. With that said, does court ever begin on time?

Cracker Barrel should be able to determine if a cc was used.

Isn’t today, Monday, February 18, President’s Day?

All government offices and banks are closed.

I bet anyone associated with this case was working today. Lawyers do not have set hours. The day before a Preliminary Hearing lawyers and associates are tying up any loose ends and preparing for tomorrow.
