Yeah, that’ll come at trial.

The prosecution will want to shut the door on the “KK did it” defense.

Yes, they'll want to. Will they be able to is another matter.

It could be that because PF is such an obvious lying angry dirtbag that so many are certain about the efficacy of LE and the prosecution but I really don't get that. They're humans and most humans are average and make errors. From my perspective (whatever that's worth), decisions on charges and plea deals were made too quickly, before all of the ducks were in a row. That could have been to get baby K the hell out of there, which I could understand, to a degree. She had to be gotten out of their control but this plea deal was rushed. MOO.

Did they ever clarify anything about the security camera that captured the images of KB and PF at the condo on 11/22? I’m very curious when they obtained that footage and why there seem to be only two images on 11/22, no more? Were they not able to obtain later dates? This puzzles me. I’m hoping they have more images just are not releasing them until trial. Would that make sense?
My guess is that they have plenty of more evidence that will come out in trial. Not everything was needed this week. So we don't know all of the info yet, imo.

I took dictation in an office setting...Gregg. However, difference between mundane business meetings, letters, and really trying to catch every nuance in testimony and to watch all of the players in a court room. Difference between documenting and reporting.

When I do Dibels tests with my students, I have to click a button for every word they recall. I have to replay what they say in my head to do it. I wonder if that is how dictation works---court reporting must be all the more difficult.

Ha! No.

In case it isn’t already apparent, I love to argue.

It ain’t personal.

Are you a lawyer or in law school or in LE?

What other than rage could make a person bash in the head of another in the middle of the day knowing it was going to make a big mess that would demand a clean-up?

No way to fake a suicide with a bat involved and anyone who has watched a Dateline or two knows the most recent partner will be Suspect #1.

With all the obsessive planning the brilliant cowboy put into KB's murder, he eventually just lost it and started swinging. So simple.

The weird thing is that we think normal people like us can wrap our minds around this. We never will, thank God.

I had wondered what happened that made him explode into violence at that moment, I don't supposed we'll ever know, nor would any reason make any sense to normal folks...but something did cross my mind.

What night did KB say they'd been out late, all night, with the cattle? They both must have been exhausted.

Sadly, I've seen more than a few people become very...ahem...unreasonable (i.e. violently angry) when experiencing extreme lack of sleep. Am wondering if that had some play in his actions? NOT absolving him of anything...he's as evil as they come, but it could help explain why that day was the day he murdered her.

(Just getting in, I have no idea what you guys are talking about but count me in! I’m having hot flashes and ready to argue about something! Haha JK—I’m more the peace and love type (eta but will throw down if I need to!)

—-

Seriously I came here to ask this question
(Gah I forgot it now)

Grrrr...ok I’ve got an hour to remember on this post. Hopefully it’ll come to me in a minute..)

ETA: Speaking of arguing, and this is not what I came here to say originally but since you like to argue hahaha can we argue about the coffee cup being dosed?

What a creepo that KLK...shudder.)

It actually makes even less sense now, knowing the lengths they went to cover their tracks, and mislead any investigation.

They had the time and the means to dump her car somewhere, but decided against it.
They were so enamored with themselves they thought everyone would buy their BS. With all the brainiac minions they each have willing to help do their bidding it's no wonder.
Too bad for them, they are no match for CB.

So I have no idea how KB was actually killed and I’m just wondering would a cleanup from a gun shot wound be less laborious than that of a blunt trauma killing? Would that take a shorter time to clean up say 3-4 hours?

Not that it makes all that much difference, but what could the two of them possibly have been arguing about with regard to finances? They didn't live together in January 2017, and if my math is right, she wasn't even pregnant yet or so early in the pregnancy she probably hadn't missed yet (right, the baby was born in October?), and had only been living in CO less than a year--so their relationship wasn't even a year old yet. ??
We learned much about this early in the investigation from CB media interviews and MSM news quotes from family. Please see the Media Thread for this case-- it's a treasure trove!

For years, KB was living under false hope that she and PF would be purchasing their own ranch, and marrying. Engagement was not a joke to KB, but it sure was to PF. PF cited cattle market price decline for dragging his feet, and KB eventually purchased her own place.

IMO, PF was very comfortable living with SF, and had no intention of budging. KB had no intention of living with her MIL, and why would she want to. Yes, finance arguments a given under these circumstances.

Her tale left me picking my jaw up off the floor multiple times.

When I first read this, I was like "Kapua used the wrong tail." Then I realized both tale (story) and tail (coll. for her person) actually work in this instance

No, I'm sorry, I'm not buying it. Any of it. He did not snap. KB's murder WAS PLANNED. It is true that many murders are the result of people whose emotions are fried, and prior to killing, may've toyed with the idea---but this case is NOT one of those cases. PF was not "toying" with the idea, he was soliciting it with the expectation of it being carried out. He is a diabolical human being who solicited KB's murder at least three times between September 23rd and October 21st with the expectation that he would get a phone call from KK that the deed was done. He was not at a breaking point and just happened to boil over--he is a cold, calculating murderer.
And I will add a manipulator extradorinaire IMO

Colorado law does NOT permit criminal trials to be live streamed.

There are only two criminal court hearings eligible for "Expanded Media Coverage" (EMC) (i.e., audio/video inside the courtroom) -- advisements and arraignments. These two hearings may be televised upon prior approval from the court.

Take note the last hearing on 2/19 was not eligible and/or not live streamed because it was a preliminary hearing, which is not permitted.

Sorry, being behind (as usual!) I asked you about this before seeing this post.

Bummer

I don't think it's been said who told CB the details of why he had her gun.
I thought PF told CB the whole story about Kelsey holding the gun to her head as an explanation as to why he had it. Isn't that what she said? Imo

Also I think lost in alot of the conversation about if kk is or isn't a credible witness is this. How does the defense explain away the Medical document for KF that was dated December 12(?) that had many contacts listed but not KB and signed by PF? who does that? I'll tell you who......A cold blooded murderer thats who....

I imagine PF will say Kelsey’s name was not on the document because she had “run away” or some such nonsense.

  • #235
I had to laugh at the "Mostly" part. LOL

One thing I am sure of is that once its proven to a jury that a witness is fibbing about anything then they tend to question and may not believe everything else they are saying.
That is what scares me. The defense will run with the fact that KK lied to LE in the beginning until phone records were put in front of her. Moo

I agree. Especially because of this (Tippy's notes at top of thread). Who had the Idaho number and was in Colorado on Nov. 22 if it wasn't KK?

At 4:37 pm Nov. 22, PF called an Idaho number, also in vicinity of KB’s home, it hit off a tower, southwest of KB’s townhome. He receive a return call from this number a few minutes later. It hit off the same tower, southwest of KB’s townhome. Shortly after, he received a call from that same number. Slater says it pinged off a tower in Divide.

Wait.. what?!!!

I think you captured this quite nicely!

Agreed- is there any reason KK would lie about actually going to CO to kill KB but not going through with it? I’m trying to understand this level of devotion to PF and I’m convinced PF is the killer and she did the cleanup and I’m awaiting the rest of the evidence JMO

She probably can't lie about her earlier trips because her data puts her there. Does her cell data match with PF's during these trips? Did he know she was there?

I'm voting for both sides here. PF or KK. I think both did it and there's answers yet to come to clarify everyone's questions. Great debates on who did it here. They did it, but who committed this murder?

Why did KK buy the "aluminum" bat in ID but didn't use it, and PF uses a wood bat and kills her? I'm not understanding their relationship. Oddest one yet for me. You talk about killing your fiance. You clean up her blood for him. Strange pair.
I noticed that too, and thought it odd. What I came up with is that maybe KK specified that she bought an "aluminum" bat for her abandoned attempt to murder KB, but that PF used a "wooden" bat, so she couldn't be seen as providing the murder weapon (?)
