I sure hope she didn't tell some tall tale to her daddy that she was being cornered in this case and he just said that to cover for her believing his daughter. Hopefully, not, my goodness all the peoples lives that have been messed with by these 2 wicked people, what a sick bunch!

Good thought because I think she told her ex she was "set up".

KKL may have told LE where she was. To verify electronically after so long time had passed, the FBI experts would have to have KKL's phone in hand. She destroyed it Dec. 4th. Inspector Slater testified that he attempted to verify the location of the phone for the 22nd through 24th via search warrant on the location match feature of her Google account assigned to that phone, but discovered she had disabled that app just prior to that time. To execute that search warrant, Slater needed KKL's G-mail address. He said Her ex had it saved in the Contacts feature of his phone, and provided it. IMO

That search warrant would be for what - her G Mail content or her phone records from her phone that she destroyed?

I don't think it was stated. They only said an Idaho number, but not where it pinged.

The Pros left out many little tidbits. They made a point of showing exhibits of PF's truck at the ENT Credit Union ATM drive-through and gave the date of 11/22, and mentioned the baby carrier is in the passenger seat with a tote in the bed - but they never mentioned the time stamp. A bank will have the most accurate time stamp IMO, and there may be a conflict in the Pros story there.

They mentioned KB on the furniture store surveillance driving by at 12:37. They mention PF on the same camera, but gave no time stamp.

KK was driving all over WP on 11/24, yet they only mention her at Sonic. No other cameras saw her? Everything I checked in WP is a 5 minute drive from KB's townhome - Walmart, Safeway, credit union - very small town.

The Pros was only trying to show probable cause and tell a brief story. They won't help the Def build their case but the Pros does have to provide everything they find out to the Def. Going into the Prelim, the Def only had the AA and nothing else. JMO

Don't mean to be picky, but It's "Ent Federal Credit Union". It's named after Major General Uzal Girard Ent, US Air Force. During the Cold War, Ent Air Force Base in Colorado Springs was the center of the nation's atomic defense. Many people grew up listening them track Santa Claus every Christmas Eve on the "Big Board Map of the World". The decomissioned grounds are now the headquarters of the United States Olympic Committee and the State Games organization.

Right. KK is SO skerred..and SO helpful to LE without their even knowing it all at the same time.
<reaching for barf bag>

Yeah, according to her, she was just an innocent accessory after the fact actually trying help LE. Left blood around? She meant to do that. Kept both phones pinging all the way back to Idaho? She meant to do that.

I'm hoping KB spoke with a counselor and gave every detail of her relationship with PF to them. It will be in a file and used as more evidence.
Be careful what you wish for! That opens the door to all of KB's medical and counseling history since she turned 18?

I have been wondering if medical privilege survives a person who is presumed deceased in CO. This is a state-by-state issue.

You are hoping the Pros uses it against PF - but what if there is something that creates reasonable doubt that she took off and may be alive, or committed suicide? We only have the brief statement about the Nedley Clinic in August 2018 from CBI Agent Slater. Come to think of it, the Pros has already opened that door?

In "early 2017" KKL and lovesickness because of her could have been the reason for KB pointing her gun to her head. She didn't know KKL, but maybe felt, there was another woman in the play. That would make a sense to me, for KB being very unhappy and desperate at this time.
Since PF wouldn't have admitted to being a cheater on KB, he told a story with "disput about finances" as a reason. If KB herself told her mum about the incident, then she also might have mentioned another than the true reason (cheating by her lover). IMO MOO
ETA:
Slater says, per Cheryl, Kelsey didn’t talk about relationship problems.

Perhaps KB never spoke about intimate problems, although her mum was her best friend, IMO.

I thought the gun incident happened on Christmas Eve, 2017. This was also the time that PF told the Donkey Guy at Cripple Creek that they broke up. I'm am thinking that Kelsey might have expected a marriage to happen by now and PF was using financial problems as an excuse not to tie the knot. Purely speculation and I could be wrong on the date. She may have might safer with Patrick to mean emotionally safer. Perhaps she was already emotionally detaching from him where he could not longer cause her as much anxiety.

I fear we will never know the whole story of their relationship because PF is a liar, and I doubt KB told her parents the bad parts. I never talked bad about my ex to my parents, because I knew that they would hate him. That is not unusual, I don't think.

He's too stupid to understand how to upload the video.

He actually has a YT channel, under his own name. I watched a couple of minutes of one and had to turn it off. He sounded like a stupid hick. I cannot imagine what Kelsey saw in this guy just based upon listening to him. He made me cringe.

So if you have location tracking turned on in your Google Apps, you are able to be tracked.

Turning this feature off, or erasing your location data, doesn’t make your phone invisible.

It just means that those apps won’t keep track of you.

That was the relevance of the Gmail account mentioned in the affidavit.

Because she was communicating with PF, her phone was generating pings, which transmitted her location.

So she tried to cover her tracks, but didn’t.

This data exists.
Location uses satellites. Calls and texts use cell towers. The drooling idiot did not know that.

That search warrant would be for what - her G Mail content or her phone records from her phone that she destroyed?

Her G-mail account was based from her phone that she destroyed. If you have Verizon cell phone service and want to log on to FB social media from your phone, you must have an e-mail address, too. Many people use G-Mail simply because it's a free service. The FB registration process will automatically enroll you in Google Locator, which tracks the phone constantly and produces matches whenever you meet up with one of your FB friends. In the background, it turns Google into Big Brother. They are watching you. It is also very annoying, changing your search settings to places you've searched, suggesting products to buy based on where you've been, and sending you customer satisfaction surveys for places like Sonic and Walmart just after you visit. Full time Google Locator can be disabled simply by changing one's FB settings to a real I.P. address based e-mail address and eliminating the phone number by simply backspacing it out of the FB registration. IMO

if she loses/destroys her phone and gets a new one (would the time line support her shooting her own phone with MG's gun?) aren't her calls and texts still "in the cloud" and/or still in other people's phones? e.g., if she is communicating with MG about swapping vehicles, does MG's phone record and retain that her calls/messages came from ID not CO?

I'm a tech tard but I don't think texts are stored in the cloud. Once deleted, they're gone. As for calls, those would be on her phone records. He phone is gone but one thing I have wondered about is how they say nothing is ever really deleted. If a phone still exists, wouldn't deleted texts still exist somewhere in the phone's hard drive or whatever a cell phone computer is called?

Thanks for this info, it helps explain the situation better!

What a coincidence though that she had destroyed the phone and therefore no information regarding the location of her phone could be gotten for the period of November 22nd through the 24th. Am I understanding that correctly? And if so, doesn't that mean then that there really is no phone information OR pings that verify/prove where KK and/or her phone was during the 22nd through the 24th? (other than alibis of people who claim she was here or she was there, yada yada) I guess the reason I am confused by this is because if I am understanding it correctly, how can some be so sure that she was nowhere near KB's or PF's on Thanksgiving then??
ITA. According to MG, she exchanged cars with KK on 11/23 at Walmart in Jerome, Idaho. I don't remember a time mentioned for this meetup. KK claims to have left the Twin Falls, Idaho area at about 6:30PM on 11/23 arriving in the WP, CO area at about 7:30AM on 11/24.

ITA we don't know where KK herself physically was located prior to that vehicle exchange. KK thinks nothing of long distance driving, and who can know if someone else drove her to CO between 11/21 - 11/23.

The only witness to KK's whereabouts on 11/22 mentioned in the Prelim is her father:

Defense asking if Slater was involved in discussion with Chad Lee, Krystal’s estranged husband. Defense says Lee didn’t know much about Frazee. Same goes for Krystal’s dad, who didn’t notice anything different on Thanksgiving Day when he was with Krystal. @KOAA #KrystalKenney

Oh, and, you wouldn't destroy a cell phone by shooting it, lol! You'd smash it to pieces with a hammer.

It depends.

I posted a link on the Watts thread that discussed what law enforcement can and can’t do when recovering deleted texts.

Many times they can recover them, but sometimes that is impossible. It depends on the device, and some factors I don’t recall.

They need to have the phone in their possession though.

Both Watts and his mistress deleted text messages, and search histories from their phones.

Law enforcement was able to recover some data, but in regards to Watts’ deleted text messages, they simply used his deceased wife’s phone to fill in the gaps.

In this case, without KK’s phone, I don’t think there is anything they can do.

They have PF’s phone, which will likely prove huge here.

There’s a good chance they can recover valuable evidence from it.

However, a ceiling is also mentioned on page 9, #69:

"Blood was also on the floor in the kitchen, on the walls, on the ceiling, on the television, pictures, couch and books."

Is that the kitchen or living room ceiling?

MOO
But this was according to KK, right?

It's illegal to direct texts to anyone or anything but the addressees, except in NSA monitoring of terrorist activities. So no, they aren't stored on the cloud. I'm sure phones have a temporary cache of deleted items, like a PC but they can't store much for very long. The calls and texts LE are tracing are just the transmission data, not the actual text or the actual conversation. IMO

Just like criminals (both of them), exchanging the vehicles at a crowded supermarket parking! IMO

Interesting info about Bluestar:

Extreme performance
  • The extreme sensitivity of BLUESTAR® FORENSIC allows the naked eye to detect bloodstains down to 1:10,000 dilutions, like minute traces or droplets that have been washed off, with or without detergent.
  • BLUESTAR® FORENSIC has a stronger and longer-lasting luminescence that does not require total darkness to be visible. Good quality pictures can be obtained with an ordinary camera and film.
More on performances...
  • With a little practice, BLUESTAR® FORENSIC makes it impossible to get confused between blood and false positives since the luminescence differs in color, intensity and duration.

  • BLUESTAR® FORENSIC does not alter DNA and allows for both subsequent DNA typing and ABO typing.

  • BLUESTAR® FORENSIC works as well on fresh blood as on very old or altered bloodstains, pure or diluted.

Wow, very impressive product.
