Where else is the forensic evidence (blood/hair/tissue/etc) located? And if KB wasn't killed inside her own condo, then how did the blood etc end up in there - something the defense will need to address.
They might turn it around on KK, and accuse her of framing PF. She has already said that she purposely left some blood behind. That might come back too bite her in the trial.

I was there today.

I'll update later.

Think most of the important stuff the media got out already.

On a funny note.
Was there someone live tweeting or something? Towards the end a cop got up and was walking around with a note that said "are you blogging?" Asking a bunch of people.

....and I was asked.

I wanted to respond: yes telepathicly. Seeing as I maybe had my phone out 5 mins out of the 3 hours.

Sells is worried about people being disruptive.... When that was the most disruptive part of the day.

This makes sense. Everyone’s favorite blogger was doing YouTube updates from what was being fed to him from the courtroom.

He was pretty accurate with it, so someone had to have been texting him that info.

Grrrrr is right Warwick, but it doesn't surprise me. I swear the man in void of any human emotions.

MOO
Agreed!
Same with his mother. The tweet earlier said other family were there and no emotions.

Nowhere as far as we know. And “somewhere other than Kelsey’s condo,” seems to indicate that the defense doesn’t have any evidence to support this claim.

Talk about vague.

Something just occurred to me. Either the defense is being vague because there is no other location, or they are about to be forced to explain away evidence at another location.

That discolored hay bail at Nash Ranch maybe?!
They may do what Chase Merritt's defense did---and say 'we can't prove how or where the other guy did it---that's not our burden. But it does raise a reasonable doubt that our client was the guilty party.'

Annoying AF, imo.

It makes sense to me that she would say, "At the end of the year the baby and I are out of here. I'll be seeing my attorney to work out child support and visitation."

Maybe we'll hear testimony from an attorney with whom she discussed this.
Well if we all recall, PF was filing for custody of Baby K. So I do believe that something transpired between him and Kelsey before then, and I believe that she may have been thinking of leaving the area and moving on.

This would explain his reason for not only filing custody, but also trying to engage KK into helping him for several months to murder her. I think PF knew he probably wouldn't have won that custody case, Kelsey wanted out of their relationship, and he wasn't going to allow her to take the baby further away- whether she moved closer to her job, or perhaps moved back home with her family and friends.

She might have been trying to keep the peace between her and the F family - thinking she was going for Thanksgiving dinner, she bought flowers, was going to make the bread dip and also a sweet potato casserole, to which she told Patrick to pick up the pecans for it because she forgot to buy them. She may have been a little nervous rocking the boat with him and his family, and for Baby K's sake, she might have just gone with the flow until she could get out of there.

We have to remember, she was basically all alone out there with the baby amongst a sea of haters, so to speak, with his family and his friends. I am not sure if she had any friends of her own out there- I know several friends of hers spoke up after she was murdered, but I thought they were still living where they grew up. Other than a few co-workers, she probably didn't have many people in her corner there.

After KB could not be contacted, there was a text or phone call between CB and PF (or KB and PF, cannot remember) — one where the content was not released. This may be it — they are calling it a phone call but I wonder if it was a text.

Soon afterwards Patrick Frazee called Cheryl to inform her Kelsey had moved out, according to the testimony. The mother explained that was odd as she had heard nothing beforehand and maintained a close relationship with her daughter.

The article places this contact in the timeframe after Thanksgiving. Was it, or is the author confused and it actually took place when she moved away from the F house?

If after Thanksgiving, saying that to CB would have been incredibly stupid.

The same article others have mentioned.
Prosecutors call Berreth's mother as opening witness in murder trial

I don't think anyone here has ever claimed PF was smart, IIRC.

Cheryl Berreth struggled to contain her emotions on the stand as she described her daughter's upbringing in Washington state and a lifelong desire to become a pilot. Kelsey Berreth moved to Colorado within a year after starting a relationship with Patrick Frazee. Kelsey worked in Grand Junction, Falcon and Pueblo as a flight instructor. Cheryl describes her daughter's relationship with the Frazee family as never being good, with the family viewing Kelsey as a "hooker" because she would arrive at the family property late at night due to her work hours.

According to the mother, the relationship worsened after Kelsey told the family about her pregnancy in the summer of 2017. She explained how her daughter was thrown out of the house and forced to move in with a coworker. Fast forward a year later when Frazee and Berreth's daughter had just turned one year old, and Cheryl Berreth describes her daughter visiting a clinic in California to help address mineral deficiency. Soon after, Kelsey started working less to spend more time with her child. She and Frazee continued to live separately.

Mother testifies about strained relationship and concern for her missing daughter

And another case that we followed here, someone who was missing and murdered had seen an attorney. The attorney was not allowed to go on the stand at all. But fortunately, she had seen another attorney at a dinner about six months before and had not hired him nor giving him money, so he was able to say that she was asking about divorce. So, if she had seen an attorney, we may not be able to hear about it legally within the court?

Boom! I hope this question isn’t left hanging for long.

There’s got to be a reason that they have to shift the murder scene. There’s no other reason that I can come up with other than there is evidence at another location.

Because think about it. There’s blood in that house, Kelsey’s blood. The defense can still say KK is the killer, and the House is where it happened.

UNLESS THEY CAN’T.
What if they are going to say that KK left all that blood evidence behind, to frame him as the killer? She already admitted to leaving some there, purposely.

Well, no, but if he actually tried that line it was beyond stupid, even PF stupid.

I tend to think that the author mixed up the timelines but will be anxious to see if he really said that when he was trying to cover everything up.

Well we know how well that tactic worked for Chase Merritt!

God bless CB, as a mother myself I can’t imagine. My whole heart aches for her. And she has to tell more on Monday....

Gut. Wrenching.

#justiceforkelsey
And CB has to be cross-examined by the defense whom one would expect to be respectful of her as the victim's mother, but they have to make Kelsey look like she needed killing.

We're all going to need heartburn meds on Monday.

Defense didn’t say who they believe killed #KelseyBerreth. But they heavily emphasized role of Kenney in misleading investigators, in their characterization. #PatrickFrazee

Today’s first witness was Cheryl Berreth, #KelseyBerreth’s mother. She said victim’s daughter Kaylee was “everything” to her and that #KelseyBerreth would never agree to give up custody, as #PatrickFrazee claimed when she went missing.

Soft-spoken and matter of fact, Cheryl Berreth choked up just once – describing text message she sent to #PatrickFrazee on day authorities say daughter was killed.

“I said something along the lines of ‘Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you’re feeling better.' “He said, 'Happy thanksgiving to you, too,'” Cheryl Berreth said, swallowing hard and dabbing at eyes with a tissue. #PatrickFrazee

Cheryl Berreth told jury how she went to investigate #KelseyBerreth's Woodland Park condo after days went by w/o answer from her.

Cinnamon rolls were uncovered on table, "hard as rocks," Cheryl Berreth said. Also left out was bread #KelseyBerreth bought for Thanksgiving dessert dip. Her luggage was still there. “When the sun was shining it looked like everything had been wiped.” #PatrickFrazee

(post 2 of 2)
This is the first I've heard of the bread for the Thanksgiving desert dip. Between that and the sweet potato casserole it does sound like she expected to go to the ranch for dinner.

Imo

Ha! I hope so.

Where’d she get the blood from?

Why did she want to go to prison?

Why frame someone when the whole point is to make it look like there wasn’t a murder in the first place?

  • #1,075
I disagree. I don't think she was planning to move. She bought a condo there and she loved her job. To me, that indicates that she was committed to staying. MOO
We're going to find out Monday, I imagine.

WHOAH is RIGHT!

You didn't miss anything.

This is the first time that news has been made public re: a possible tooth fragment having been pulled from the burn pile at the franch.

This. is. HUGE.

And the only reason, the ONLY reason, this would have been mentioned by the prosecution in the opening arguments is because that fragment has been tested.

It was a teaser.

And guess what, folks?

*Spoiler Alert: It's going to be a tooth fragment.

It's going to be KB's tooth fragment.

He's. Toast.

JMO.
Burnt toast, anyone?

I could never understand that if "Mrs. Bates'" believed her son, "Norman" was innocent, why on earth would she need to plead the 5th, unless SHE did it :p
Now that would be a twist and a half. Lord Almighty. Perhaps that is her DNA in KBs condo.

Jury seated, opening statements heard in Patrick Frazee trial
[...]

She said the move caused conflict, however, because Frazee continued to live with his mother in Florissant, and Berreth, with no job, had to get her own apartment.

Frazee and Berreth continued to live apart. They had a daughter together in 2017, but prosecutors described a stressful, deteriorating relationship, saying Frazee manipulated people to believe his fiance was a negligent and abusive parent and partner.

They say Kenney, in particular, fell victim to that manipulation, detailing how Frazee lied about Berreth’s abuse to convince Kenney to help him kill her. Prosecutors say he even went so far as to threaten Kenney’s daughter if she didn’t comply.

But, Viehman said, Kenney couldn’t do it.

[...]

In the days after Berreth was reported missing, prosecutors say Frazee made 46 phone calls to Kenney, and none to his fiance.

The fact

[...]

...Berreth moved to Colorado in 2016, after Frazee said he wanted to marry her.

[...]

Cheryl Berreth also told the court the Frazee family wasn’t accepting of Berreth when she arrived. In fact, Frazee’s mother, Sheila, kicked her out after finding out she was pregnant, thinking Berreth hid her pregnancy on purpose.

Cheryl Berreth said her daughter moved to several different places in Colorado, but continued trying to make the relationship with Frazee work.

[...]

Cheryl Berreth broke into tears recalling the last time she spoke to her daughter...

Members of the Berreth family, including Kelsey’s brother, Clint, held back tears. There was no reaction from Frazee during that testimony.

[...]

The fact that Patrick called KK 46 times in the days after Kelsey "went missing" is so telling.

Tweet:

"Cheryl Berreth breaks down on the stand as she describes the last time she spoke with Kelsey, patrick met her eyes with no emotion when she pointed him out in court. Jury listens intently, takes notes."

Her eyes locked with his and he showed no emotion....

One thing I think we have learned today, is that this defense agrees that KK was in Idaho at the time of the killing and that is why they are trying to redo the timeline.
