Thank you @steeltowngirl for your list. It's so helpful and will be even more so in the days ahead. It's awesome!

I try to be compassionate, even for suspects' family members during a time like this. I know it's a horrifying and shocking experience for these families, and their pain is enormous when it's their loved one that is the murderer- they get practically no understanding at all in the public or community. They get those looks and comments in public for the rest of their days. With social media, it's hard for them to even move away, someone always finds them.

That said, going by what Cheryl said on the witness stand, I have absolutely not one shred of sympathy for her or that family- the granddaughter of a "hooker", in granny's eyes, she and her son wanted so called custody of? That same mother she tossed that "hooker" on her tail when she found out she was pregnant with this child they allegedly wanted custody of? The same woman who was shunned and made to go out on the deck outside when the sister came over to visit?

If I am on the jury listening to all of this- my usual sympathy for some suspects' families would be shot to hell. If anything, who would have blamed Kelsey if she didn't take the baby and run as far away as she could from those classless, cold hearted monsters. That's a family I wouldn't go near with a ten foot pole.
I wonder why it was specified that she was forced to wait outside when only the sister came over. What about the brother and his wife, or SF herself?
What was it about the sister being there that they didn't want KB in the house?
Did she have a particular dislike for her? Did she refuse to be in the same house with her? Why just the sister?

Yes that, and the crocodile tears will help.
omg please please not the crocodile tears with the "Sniff, sniff". Someone on tv played a clip of that again...I wanted to throw up.
sniff, sniff.....sniff, sniff...sniff, sniff....
ugh!

That's what narcs do. They isolate their victims. I prefer the word "serpent", like in the Garden of Eden. Look where that landed us. Evil does not embrace the light, because the light exposes the works of darkness. KB was that light and they could NOT bear it. Sadly, it took her brutal death to expose the darkness that is PF and his mother. JMHO
So, so very true!

If so and if SF does invoke her right it would be interesting to hear which ones she answers and which ones she doesn’t.
Yes, they can.
And I agree.

It's going to be extremely telling to see which questions Ma decides not to answer on the grounds that to do so may incriminate her, which is to say, it would definitely incriminate her.

Strategically, if I'm the prosecution team, my leadoff question to SF is going to be one that I know she'll plead the 5th on.

She's going to be antagonistic toward the prosecution team, that goes without saying.
I think her hostility will be palpable to those jurors.

The jury's already heard about what a sweet lady she is.
She's so sweet that she booted out her son's pregnant gf when she found out KB was pregnant, leaving her effectively homeless.
She's so sweet that she and her daughter booted KB outside whenever twisted sister came to the franch.

Talk about a sweetie beauty.
That's one sweetie beauty of a human being right there!

The jury has already likely formed a negative impression of SF based on
CB's testimony, which is all to the good for Team Kelsey.

It's important that the jury's first impression of SF on the stand further cement in their minds that she's a person who's trying to hide, not reveal, the truth.

If the prosecution can get Ma to plead the 5th right off the bat, the jury will not trust her, nor will they sympathize with her.

She's not a sympathetic maternal figure in this tragedy, whatsoever.
The defense won't be able to play their violin concerto when she's on the stand.
Ain't nobody in the jury box gonna' want to listen to that racket.

JMO.

Yes, a witness may be selective when invoking 5th Amendment during testimony whereas the defendant may not.

I guess we can all thank Judge Sells for not putting us through that again  He just didn't want us all getting sick at once :)

I missed the part about KB having to wait outside when his sister EF was visiting the Frazee ranch. Was it in an article? TIA

It was one of the things that CB said Kelsey told her during her testimony, along with a description of how SF viewed her as a hooker because she went to the ranch after working late hours. Imo

Not in published report. CB made the statement during her courtroom testimony on Friday (reported by member that was present).

thanks for all the responses to my thoughts on CB testimony. i want all to know i find CB very credible, my concern with the credibility was my thinking that the defense might point the differences out during cross and how that might affect the jury. but the comments about LE guiding/suggesting what early comments were best made me think that it will work out ok if defense does raise the issue. another thing about the tooth talk is i remember early on that reportedly KK told LE that PF had told her to look for a tooth that might have gone near a vent.
it was reported again in this recent article,
"After the attack, Frazee allegedly asked Kenney to come and clean up the blood in Berreth’s home. She brought a box of latex gloves, a white suit, booties, bleach, two trash bags and a hair net to help clean the scene, Slater said. Frazee even asked her to look for Berreth’s tooth near a vent, the agent said."

Trial For Patrick Frazee Will Hinge On Testimony From Alleged Accomplice Krystal Lee

haven't read anything about KK finding a tooth in the condo, though. but i think it's entirely possible she did find a tooth and is not being honest about that. if they gave her a polygraph i hope the tooth issue was discussed during it.

This is one of the things that is incredibly distressing to think about.

All of us here hate to envision the violence and brutality of the murder itself.

But it bears thinking about, because it speaks to PF's utter viciousness, and what KB suffered at his hands.

My hope is that she was knocked out after the first blow, and felt nothing after that.

Hope is a feeling, though.
Feelings aren't Facts.

I don't think that's what happened.
I absolutely do not think that KB was killed with a single blow.
In fact, I'm almost certain that there were repeated blows.

There's too much blood splatter, and what KK described she walked into in no way fits with a single strike.

"Blood everywhere."

It's horrific to think about, but I think it's important to acknowledge the brutality of PF's actions and the pain he inflicted upon KB.

He's Evil Incarnate.

JMO.

*ETA: @MassGuy offered the best explanation r/t the blood splatter and likely murder scenario w/ the bat that I've heard so far. Tagging him to see if he can post that again for the group.

Even if one hit could have killed Kelsey I believe PF's rage would have kept the blows coming.

Once he got started I'm betting he couldn't stop.

Blood from the bat would have gone flying and LE will know exactly how many blows were struck.

I expect DA May to do a demonstration showing the jurors just that.

Oh yeah, I’m sure May will use a dummy in order to demonstrate that. Unfortunately, I’m not talking about PF.

Join the club.

We have bigger things to worry about right now, though:

What is most important is that PF be held accountable.

He swung the bat.

He must, must, MUST pay for that.

There'll be plenty of time and opportunity to Monday morning quarterback about the state's decision to offer KK that sweetie beauty of a deal.

But it ain't Monday yet, folks.

Stating the obvious: It's Sunday. Gameday.

The home team, led by DA May is locked in battle against PF.

That's the only thing I'm focused on right now.

Well, that and the Pats vs Ravens game. Kickoff at 8:20 pm tonight.

JMO.

Football is played on Sunday?

Who knew?! Roll Tide!
