Where is it stated that Kelsey was kicked out of the Franch while she was pregnant? That’s horrible!! I’m trying to catch up but I’m missing so much.

Yet PF claimed to friends and chics that he only found out KB was pregnant while in labor on the way to the ER for her to deliver...

Cheryl Berreth struggled to contain her emotions on the stand as she described her daughter's upbringing in Washington state and a lifelong desire to become a pilot. Kelsey Berreth moved to Colorado within a year after starting a relationship with Patrick Frazee. Kelsey worked in Grand Junction, Falcon and Pueblo as a flight instructor. Cheryl describes her daughter's relationship with the Frazee family as never being good, with the family viewing Kelsey as a "hooker" because she would arrive at the family property late at night due to her work hours.

According to the mother, the relationship worsened after Kelsey told the family about her pregnancy in the summer of 2017. She explained how her daughter was thrown out of the house and forced to move in with a coworker. Fast forward a year later when Frazee and Berreth's daughter had just turned one year old, and Cheryl Berreth describes her daughter visiting a clinic in California to help address mineral deficiency. Soon after, Kelsey started working less to spend more time with her child. She and Frazee continued to live separately.

I PF had an anger issue with meds. Did not know it was cause he was Angry with her for taking too long.
Jerk!
Was it CB who testified that he was angry? Maybe she told her mother about it on the phone.
Hopefully the jury will believe CB instead of looking for evidence of it in the text messages.
They probably already know that PF was not exactly sincere in his messages to her in the days surrounding the murder.

ETA just read it was KK who said PF was angry.

FRAZEE TRIAL DAY 9 LUNCHTIME NOTES:
• CBI DNA analyst Caitlin Rogers retook the stand for cross-examination. Defense attorney Adam Stiegerwald had her run through several evidence items taken from Berreth’s townhome. He points out that Krystal Kenney’s DNA is never found on any of the evidence. Also, when Frazee’s DNA is found on two separate parts of the torn up living room floorboards, the level of certainty is significantly lower compared to Berreth’s DNA.
• On redirect, lead prosecutor Jennifer Viehman asked Rogers if she was surprised at the absence of Kenney’s DNA. Knowing Kenney wore protective clothing and used bleach, Rogers testified she wasn’t surprised. She notes they use bleach at the CBI lab to sterilize their stations.
• A Teller County DHS worker testified on her Dec. 26 interview of Frazee. This was done to gather information for a custody decision on the couple’s daughter. She didn’t offer much new information — saying Frazee said they were working on co-parenting and that Berreth wanted to go their separate ways.
• CBI Agent Gregg Slater, one of the lead law agents on the case, also retook the stand. He says he doesn’t know where this investigation would be without Kenney coming forward to cooperate. Stiegerwald was quick to point out (again) Kenney didn’t offer her full interview until the plea deal was signed. On redirect, Viehman clarifies that Kenney offered a brief initial statement before the plea deal was signed.
• We’re waiting on a witness that flew in this morning. Court will resume at 1 p.m. MT.

Early break for lunch today. We're back in court at 1pm. Based on what judge said yesterday, we're moving through witnesses quicker than expected and might hear closing arguments as early as tomorrow

11:19 AM - 14 Nov 2019

Prosecution reminds jurors that Krystal let agents into her home w/out a warrant when they went to Idaho, said she wanted to cooperate & was critical to the investigation. Prosecution asks Slater where investigation would be without Krystal, he responds: “I honestly don’t know.”

With Agent Slater on the stand, there was more discussion about Krystal’s cooperation and plea deal. Defense wants to remind jurors that Krystal lied to investigators in beginning, only cooperated after the plea deal where she could serve little to no time behind bars

CBI Agent Gregg Slater testified later this morning that Patrick’s phone showed no communication with Kelsey’s phone – text or calls – after 11/25/18. Krystal Lee testified that she destroyed Kelseys phone that day and Patrick knew about it.

11:19 AM - 14 Nov 2019

DHS also testified that Patrick told her he continued to be in contact Kelsey in the days after 11/22/18, regarding who had the baby. He said Kelsey stopped responding after 11/25/18 and he kept trying to reach her until 11/28/18.

DHS testified Patrick told her he was aware of Kelsey’s pregnancy in advance, that she was involved in the baby’s life, and that they worked together to co-parent around work schedules (which is different that previous testimony we’ve heard from people relaying info from Patrick)

However, DHS testimony wasn’t super revealing at this point in the trial. She testified that Patrick told her same story he’s told others about he and Kelsey splitting up around Thanksgiving 2018, and the same info he’s told others of his locations on Thanksgiving Day

Longmire said she met with Patrick 2x, including a convo on 12/26/18 about the baby, her development, & his relationship with Kelsey. This interview happened at the jail. Before trial, defense asked to suppress Patrick’s statements from that intv but judge denied the motion.

We heard from Mary Longmire, with Teller County Dept. of Human Services. She testified that, after Patrick’s arrest, she met with Patrick, members of Berreth family and Frazee family regarding custody of the baby

When asked by prosecution if she was surprised to not find Krystal’s DNA in Kelseys home, DNA expert said no – because Krystal indicated that she wore protective clothing and used bleach, both would likely prevent her from depositing DNA

Defense points out there wasn’t much of Patrick’s DNA profile found within the samples taken from Kelsey’s house. And none of Krystal’s DNA, at least that we heard about in court.

Like everyone I’m anxiously waiting for the test results of the items they collected at the franch.

I’m curious if they DNA tested the shooting glasses and ear protection, were they KB’s??? Why did PF keep those and give her just her gun? Just a curious question, seems odd.

I’m still puzzled about the DNA kit they took from the franch, I think I just gotta let it go as non important.

Another question...maybe I missed this but....
The bags that LE collected from the dump site after PF’s dump run contained nothing important??

ETA: would the jury get to see the complete list of items collected from the franch??

He said they do not know where they would be. Yep cause PF set it up that she left and shot herself.

YES!!!!!
And I suspect the reason there is blood on box spring and mattress is because he was searching for said gun and found it.
Has the broom on top of the bed been discussed yet?

"Frazee has appeared solemn and has sat with his eyes downcast for much of the proceedings. His once shaggy hair is now cropped close and the man who once worked outdoors, running cattle and shodding horses, has gained weight since his arrest almost one year ago. He has listened to testimony without any reaction."

Patrick Frazee claimed his fiancée told him to keep their daughter after 'heated' conversation | Daily Mail Online
This sounds incredibly similar to the text messages between Chris Watts and his wife Shanann.

Both women were trying to make it work, but their killers had no such interest.

Slater went onto talk about how text messages recovered from Frazee's cell phone and Berreth's iPad told a sorry story of the state of their relationship and Berreth's hurt and frustration at his broken 'promise' that they would make a home and a life together.

Slater said that they began to put together a picture of their relationship from the content and pattern of the messages.

He said: 'Based on what I read it was mostly Kelsey initiating conversations. There were very infrequent responses. There were messages sent from Kelsey with regard to Kaylee- picking her up, thanking Patrick for a nice day together, logistics as far as exchanging Kaylee back and forth.

'There were also text messages where Kelsey was expressing frustration and anger with the status of the relationship, the direction of the relationship, where it was going, from time to time and her concerns with that.'

I'm missing something here, is the defense going to say that PF didn't know that KK had KB's phone, and he was honestly texting KB and getting responses (via kk) for a few days after the 22nd?

But they were actually together (KK/PF) for part of that time with the phones (KB's) together?

Has the broom on top of the bed been discussed yet?
I think KK testified she used it to clean up blood on the ceiling that she could not reach.

  • #258
I know we've heard and discussed these texts before....but oh barf! It's abundantly clear how phony this communication was in comparison to what we've learned.

Absolutely. They sound like sample lines he found in a basic relationships advice column or like words dimly overheard but never understood, because such emotions were and are completely foreign to him.

Reminds me of CW's plaintive-but-deeply disturbing searches for what to say and mimic to his mistress: “What do you feel when someone tells you they love you?” and “How does it feel when someone says I love you?”

These guys are proof that cunning and insight are not necessarily aligned.

It was in Sam's video. PF was angry she took so long and he told KK that KB wanted him to be in pain. Obviously that couldn't be further from the truth. Project much PF?

JMO
Thank you for reminding us it was KK. I was thinking PF made this comment to Bob Slagle. (He told Slagle about vomiting/diarrhea on Weds night).
