Wow. This is so unbelievably heavy. Again, as someone who is very interested in both acquired and inherited forms of mental illness, I absolutely cannot get my head around him blatantly passing this list to a killer (as he hoped - he had to have really believed he was persuasively).

He was too stupid to make that many connections. He had started to obsess, non-stop, about all the ways he could be (easily) connected to this crime and all of the people that he believes are going to pressure for prosecution (he doesn't understand that merely eliminating more people is not going to work). I do believe that in his mind, this was a kind of "planning"

This is it in a nutshell. A rare look into the mind of this kind of killer. I mean, lots of killers will eliminate 1-2 witnesses. This guy was going to try and eliminate a whole swatch of people (including his own friend).

For someone willing to kill, he's tremendously afraid of the consequences.
