• Judge Scott Sells ordered a pre-sentencing investigation (PSI), and Krystal Kenney will report to that today. He says it usually takes them about eight weeks to complete their reports.
• Sentencing is set for Jan. 28 at 9 a.m.
• Kenney’s attorney Dru Nielsen says she’ll need two hours to allow witnesses to speak on Kenney’s behalf. She requested the use of a video, saying it doesn’t need to be played in court. District Attorney Dan May didn’t object, but said he’d need to see the video first. Judge agreed — saying prosecutors must see it before it’s submitted. He also says it would be considered a public record.
• Nielsen also says she plans a legal challenge to the “aggravated” component to the evidence tampering charge. She’s trying to keep Kenney from receiving the maximum sentence of three years in prison. Sells gave Nielsen two weeks to file that motion, and then two weeks after that to prosecutors for a response.

I always thought the mom was the star witness, too.
(They might have gotten a conviction without kk imo, but I guess it was very ify and they couldn't take a chance on it. But she's no star to me, either).

KK conspired both before and after the brutal murder of KB. KK not only cleaned up a murder scene, she discarded key evidence AND she did her level best to make sure that no part of KK would be found. KK threw away a bible... she threw away a baby's TOYS... she threw away a baby MOTHER, and she did all of it with equal and chilling indifference.

We tell ourselves PF is a psychopath who, if he hadn't already killed before, would for certain kill again, and we tell ourselves KK wouldn't. We kid ourselves. She's a people-pleaser. Correction: she's a people-pleaser either benefit of REASON. IMO her judgment center is woefully undeveloped. The next smooth-talking, or dim-witted, cowboy comes along, whispering of soulmates and loyalty, who's to say the Rodeo Queen won't go giddy in the saddle all over again? We don't even know that PF's hold on her has been released.

IMO KK commit a whole separate courthouse of crimes against Baby K. Theft of toys, loss of her mother.... forever. Not even a lock of her mommy's hair....

SHE'S NO STAR WITNESS. She'd have been a star witness if she'd called the cops instead of cleaning up a crime scene. Single-handedly she could've brought PF down AND made sure KB's body was recovered, in whole, from Nash Ranch. She KNOWINGLY left KB's baby IN THE HANDS OF A MURDERER. She's a nurse and a mother, but she was all okay with that. She knew beyond all doubt what he was capable of.... yet she left him with three baseball bats and a baby. I can't get my head around that.

KK being free to move about now and again after whatever two-week sentence she gets turns my stomach. She should be put AWAY AT LEAST until Baby K grows up safely.

KK has already been solicited for murder three times, plans which she took steps toward committing. Maybe she's some kind of vulnerable adult, so impressionable she can't separate right from wrong because the goody giddies cloud her judgment.... to me that says SHE needs a babysitter for life. To make sure she doesn't succumb to the whims of violent men. If she can't be sentenced to more than 3 years, I hope the judge tacks on 100 MILLION HOURS of community service. Keep her busy, keep her tired and KEEP HER THE HELL AWAY FROM MEN AND CHILDREN.

She was a mistress.
Unfaithful in her own marriage.
Pregnant by another man.
Aborted that baby.
Did more than consider murder, three times.
Cleaned up a crime scene.
Removed blood and tissue (tooth) and DNA evidence.
Stole and discarded a bible, baby toys, AND A PERSON.
Knew a baby was in the hands of a known murderer. Didn't report this to CPS or LE.
Manipulated and destroyed cell phones, misdirecting LE.
Cleaned up a crime scene super fast so she could bring her man a Sonic burger. Oh, wait. He wasn't HER man. He was a violent sociopath who killed his fiancee....in and around texting his newest interest....
She, more than any other person, including PF, effectively interfered with KB's family's ability to know the KB was even missing...KK bought PF time to cover his tracks, dispose of KB's body and carry on....

How about 3 years in prison and 30 to life in a halfway house, far away from decent people? PF commit the crime, but SHE had the capacity to STOP IT. Barring that, she was in a position to report it, rescuing Baby K and burying PF. She did none of it. Instead she shared a pizza.

She is revolting.

Allegedly she was so worried about HER children's safety, that instead of calling LE at any time before or after the murder, she kept her mouth shut, for their safety. Yup.

She was so upset about Kelsey's murder, she went out and had a hell of a good time in Vegas, after her clean up stint.

So I assume they’ll play some sort of syrupy video at her sentencing that shows her playing with/loving her children, working at a hospital, maybe volunteering or at church, or spending time helping her parents or grandparents. And this has nothing to do whatsoever with the crimes she committed against Kelsey. All criminals have examples of normalcy before they run off and do all of their stupid stuff. Tired of the excuses.

She isn’t trying to change the plea. Nielsen is arguing the evidence tampering charge was not aggravated, meaning Kenney should only be subject to a max of 18 months in prison over double that amount

I believe it's as simple as the crime (tampering with the cell phone) happening inside the victim's home. Her throwing wood on the fire, cleaning up the crime scene, not telling police, etc., are all irrelevant for this. It's all about tampering with Berreth's cell phone
