This was one of my first posts, made right after the initial press conference. There was never any mystery here, as it was all about proving that Patrick Frazee did it. This is the last post I will ever make on this case.

This was 15 months ago, and justice never occurs in that amount of time. It did here, and it’s done. Both perpetrators got what they got what they got, and one of them got what they deserved. This was simple though, atleast for us.

Here’s what I said:

Here’s my problem here.

Fiancé didn’t report her missing.

The text message to her employer is something that only someone close to the victim does (assuming this is foul play).

A random abductor doesn’t do this, as he would be unaware of her work schedule, and this simply wouldn’t matter to him.

Someone was buying time, and the only person who would have an incentive to do that, is someone very close to home.

So two possibilities: She is missing on her own volition.

Foul play.

I’m leaning foul play, and I’m focused on one person.

@MassGuy.

Don't get used to this.

Which is to say, I ain't ever doing this again.

But it really needs to be publicly acknowledged here in this forum:

Thank you for your invaluable contributions to Kelsey's case.

You followed this case from its ugly inception to its bittersweet ending.

You devoted a lot of time and energy to this case discussion, offering countless seminal posts.

You brought much-needed moments of levity and humor to threads often weighted down with emotion.

Your analysis of this case was proven to be spot-on in almost all respects.

You were only wrong on the points where we disagreed. It's okay. Nobody's perfect.

Most memorably, you crafted the MassGuy Theorem:

"The MassGuy Theorem"

If we took KK out of the equation, KB would still be dead.
If we took PF out of the equation, KB would still be alive.

That really is sheer genius.
Simple, but genius.
Like the author himself.

I doff my cap to you, Sir…the fact that I don't own a cap, notwithstanding.

Well a male donkey is also known as a “jackass.” It really does fit perfectly.
I was gonna say that but thought it would get me deleted. Thank you for stepping in!!!

I hope they release the interrogation videos of KK like they did for the Watts case.

To be honest, I don't think there's much left for release because most of the investigator's communication with KK was by telephone, and after they were suspicious about PF's phone calls to ID, investigators traveled to Idaho to interview her. When investigators actually had cause to interrogate KK, she lawyered up.

I think the only thing the state could release was the KK walk-through videos at the condo and the franch --and that's already done.

Like it or not, getting a lawyer before talking to investigators was the best thing KK ever did. She showed how it truly saved her life.

As for interrogation of PF, I don't think he ever talked to investigators until he was arrested.

That ***!
stubborn as an old donkey
well thanks Clint for being true to form and showing the world the donkey you are
(apologies to all actual donkeys roaming the planet. oh and deepest sympathies to all actual donkeys associated with this human donkey)
I'm really unhappy with Dateline for allowing Clint to repeat that Kelsey had gone to rehab, which has been refuted. That should've been edited out. :(

GordianKnot,
I will jump in here with kudos to MassGuy for his contribution to the discussion of Kelsey's case, throwing in that his sarcasm was also sunshine on a cloudy day.

May I say the same for you, GK. The two of you never disappointed.....
your overuse of the word, "notwithstanding" notwithstanding.

I miss the daily (and middle of the night) talk with so many regulars here but, most of all, you.
Maybe we'll meet here again should Patrick and Mama go on trial for the Paper Towel Conspiracy to Commit Murder!

I'd agree, except that they immediately afterward discussed with her family the healing facility she actually attended ~ which had nothing to do with alcohol or drug addiction. In my mind, that served to expose that giant pile of steaming donkey crap that's been spewing out of his mouth and properly bury it once and for all.

FOX6's Sam Kraemer
"Do you think she's (Kelsey's) always with Kaylee?"

"I don't think we'll let her not be. Kaylee's gonna know about her mom."

I'm glad to see #Dateline wrapped up this gruesome case now that Frazee and Kenney are behind bars. As a reporter, the big piece that was always on my mind was how this little girl could grow up in a world after essentially losing both her parents on the same day. It's unfathomable for me.

But having met several members of the Berreth family, hearing their story and really getting to understand who they are as people, it sure seems like she's going to be just fine.

I have to admit that while aware of this case I did not follow it really closely and until last night (watching Dateline) was not aware of the horrific details of this case. OMG- OMG-- the murderer is as evil and diabolical a killer as there is on this earth-- and his little assistant Krystal-- is pretty close--- the fact that she tried three times to kill Kelsey, but failed, is beyond horrendous. The only thing I can say in her defense (and it isn't really a defense) is that she apparently believed PF when he told her that Kelsey abused her child- she believed all the lies because she "loved" the SOB---- All of those lies told by PF --diabolical- evil----Krystal got off way too easy but without her (hence the deal with devil), they may not have put this monster away for life. One thing I am not clear about is, was there ever a motive given for the murder of Kelsey- ( I missed the last half hour)--I believe he did not want that child and when she became pregnant and had the child he wanted her gone. If I recall Krystal had an abortion because PF told her he did not want a child.

I think the motive was a combination of a couple of things. I think with this child, he became very attached. He spent a lot of time with the sweet baby, and he became very possessive.

He was animal trainer and had very specific and precise beliefs about the 'proper' techniques for training. Which in fact were horrid and abusive according to some reports.

I don't think he wanted to allow Kelsey to 'parent' their child and to ruin his 'brilliant' training methods. It was going to get harder and harder to agree about co-parenting, and he was a very stubborn person.

I believe that Kelsey had already planned to change the childcare situation. PF's mother had been caring for the baby while Kelsey made her long commute to work and back. But Kelsey decided to cut back on work hours to spend more time with the baby. She was losing the healthcare benefits for Kelsey by doing so. Who was going to be asked to pay for that?

Also, if she spent more time with the child, he could be stuck with child support.

And the child was nearing the age she would be ready for preschool and a day care instead of sitting home with grandma every day. Grandma would not want that to happen.

I don't think PF wanted any of those^^^ changes...

He felt he was losing control of the child and he couldn't allow that to happen.

I don't think it made the distinction clear enough. For people learning about this case for the first time, the implication is that she'd been to rehab (which has a drug or alcohol connotation), and then later when to a healing facility for exhaustion. For someone who was slandered as much as she was early in the case by Patrick's family and assorted flying monkeys, Kelsey didn't deserve even a whiff of that slander making it to a national news show.

I wish you all would jump over to the Vallow thread and help find these poor kids!!! Their mother rivals PF and MA rolled together in the psycho/narc department.
