Hi, JRS! Great to see another local here! lol
It's hard to keep things like this in the news when there isn't much new news. But, it has been in the Chieftain, and the Colorado Springs and Pueblo TV news. People did put up more fliers today-there's even pictures on the Find Kelsie fb page. https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindKelsie
I think some vigils would be great, too. Also, Kelsie's mom said there would be another search sometime soon. That's a wonderful idea. I'd say at least 200 people showed up for the last one. You can help even if it's just sharing the FB page with your friends. I hope this is solved soon, too. I can't imagine the sheer hell Kelsie's poor family is going through right now.

I rescind my former support of the Pueblo PD. I don't care what they are or aren't doing behind the scenes anymore. The fact that Kelsie's parents have been kept in the dark is unconscionable. It's adding insult to injury. They didn't share info with the public in a timely manner, and people's memories fade after time. Had they shared what they knew at the beginning, perhaps someone would have recalled something. Justice delayed is justice denied. I live in a community with a killer on the loose. I don't like this one bit. It's not fair to anyone here, and especially not to Kelsie and her family. I don't know where DL is. I don't think he's at the family home. The house appears abandoned, except for one elderly person. Could be because a Colorado HP lives next door? I don't know. But I do know that as a taxpayer, I'm very disappointed in our local cops. Do something already. Justice for Kelsie! Please. She and her family deserve nothing less.

IMO, most LE agencies are just not good at handling missing persons cases. They are so accustomed to working in secrecy and keeping info from the public that they don't seem to be able to adapt, IMO, to different methods in cases where the public CAN be used, providing they are given info early enough. By the time LE relents, it is usually months too late for accurate memories of specific events and dates.

I think that worrying about evidence and future court cases is a wrong approach to take, while the person is still missing. In most cases, there won't even be a trial unless the person is found.

Thanks, cluciano, for stating what I feel so much more eloquently than I could. I hope that they forge ahead with charges soon. I get how difficult it is to have a case built against someone when the victim is missing, but with him using her credit card, vehicle and phone after she disappeared should convince a jury that the odds of someone else being involved are miniscule. This case breaks my heart. Kelsie should be having baby showers, and readying the nursery. Someone needs to pay for altering this course in her history. So tragic.

I agree... The practice I have seen all too frequently of secreting information for a possible future court case is azz backward... :furious:

the legal system is supposed to work FOR us...

we should not be slaves TO it!

Pueblo police say her boyfriend asked her to meet him in Pueblo through text messages on February 4, not long after she got an ultra sound. Schelling drove down to meet him and has not been seen since.

Investigators say her boyfriend was arrested a short time later, after using her bank card. He is also considered a "person of interest" in Schelling's disappearance. However, police don't have enough evidence to make an arrest.

Maybe Kelsie's family should think about hiring a private investigator.

I think about her every day. I noticed that the only activity at the POI's mother's house was when two people drove up in a cab, looking very furtive, and a pick up backed up in the garage with ramps, as if they were moving. These incidents were about a week apart. This was quite some time ago, about 5 or 6 weeks ago. I really wonder where he's gone. I thought maybe he moved to Missouri or where ever mommy fled to, but someone involved with the case told me they believe he's still in Pueblo. I was hopeful that Kelsie would have been found by now. I pray her family gets closure.
