I was just reading Kenia's thread and went to my on-demand and her story is on Aphrodite Jones True Crime series on ID...kind of weird. I am off to watch it.

If y'all would, please pray for Kenia's stepdad, Tony, and her mom, Maria. They are facing some hard times with the passing of another family member. Thank you.

Tony and Maria: You and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May you feel the strength and courage to get through yet another loss. May God bless you both!!

Memorial Held For Kenia Monge Also Has Message About Being Safe
September 7, 2014 5:20 PM

"The memorial was held in Denver’s City Park. Monge’s family is hoping others never have to experience pain like theirs. The gathering was about Monge but also about other girls who end up missing.
Monge’s father, Tony Lee, addressed the crowd of about 50 who came to remember Monge and also shine a spotlight on why there are too many missing girls. Lee emphasized that young people need to know the rules when they’re out on the town. That means they and their friends have to keep an eye on each other and their drinks.
“We think that she was slipped the date rape drug. We could see that just through the surveillance that they had on her. Those things happen every night downtown. This is not a secret, it’s a big thing that happens downtown,” Lee said. “The first month that Kenia was missing I got calls from 10 different women … who were actually raped after being slipped the date rape drug.”

Interesting update from Tony. This is the third year that he and Maria have gone to Denver University to visit the forensic psychology class of Kim A. Gorgens, Ph.D., ABPP (RP), Clinical Associate Professor, Director of Continuing Education, Graduate School of Professional Psychology. During their visit, they welcome each student and the professor to ask them anything about their experience before, during and after having their child killed by a serial killer. I am always in awe of Kenia's family. They are simply amazing. :)

Hey guys, if you could, please keep Tony and Maria in your prayers and good thoughts. The arrest of Hannah's abductor is hitting them pretty hard right now. Honestly, I can't imagine. It's like re-living this nightmare all over again. :( It's heartbreaking.

"The similarities keep happening. He was found in Texas." I have no words. :(

Does anyone have a theory on why Travis Forbes texted Kenia to ask if she got home OK?
I just watched this episode for the first time, and I thought if not for that text, he would have gotten away with the murder!

Followed this case when it happened, either using the victims phone or texting it for an alibi is common. I remember his interview with a reporter and she asked if he had anything to do with it. His head was shaking yes while he said no.. I never forget that..

Thank you! Yes, I noticed the head shaking thing, too. He thought he was smarter that everyone else.
