CO - Man seeks to identify pooping jogger

Gee, what a surprise.

Arrest this person for indecent exposure, indecent exposure to minors, biological hazard charges…

oh I remember this - it's still going on 12 years later?!

Is there a psychological profile associated with this type of habitual behavior? What the heck makes someone want to poop on someone's lawn or in public? I'm genuinely curious. I could never, unless it was a situation of being so extremely sick that I just couldn't make it home but even then, to pop a squat and poop on somebody's lawn just seems to weird to me. Does she even bring toilet paper with her?

I just came across this interesting case and I see it making international waves.

I think that Poop Squat could be a good name for the task group.

Does everyone have to contribute a mystery from own borough or "never mind, Rain City"?

My brother has the Phantom Pooper in his house, the front of the dryer specifically.

Well, there was a Phantom Pooper. He was identified when my niece caught him in front of the dryer, scolded him, and watched him walk to his litter box. Satisfied, she left the room, only to discover he had hopped out of the litter box and pooped in front of the dryer as soon as she left. 😽

Hey Everyone,

We really need your help with this one.

Right now, the police are not actively working on the case — but we’ve been contacted by a group (can’t share who just yet) that’s stepping up to help find answers.

A mother-daughter podcast team is also investigating the case. You might have seen them on our Websleuths LIVE stream last night!

If you’re in the Colorado Springs area and have any information about this case — or want to help find The Mad Pooper — please reach out to Kylie and Cami at [email protected].

Please note: getting involved is completely up to you. I’ve spoken personally with the people involved, and they’re professional, but it’s entirely your choice to check things out and decide for yourself.

It's not a profile, per se, but people with dementia/Alzheimer's or any range of severe psychological problems, or simply anybody whose mental state has been altered somehow (like acute encephalitis, I guess???) tend to poop in inappropriate places, or try to eat feces, or smear it on themselves, the walls, the furniture, be it on purpose or unknowingly.

I don't have any more info for you than that. I was a CNA and was warned of it in training. Fortunately I only had to handle a case of this behavior once, and it wasn't all that bad because the cleanup was easy. The smell lingered though. I won't get into it for the sake of the patient's dignity.

Idk, brains are weird and fallible. Even a severe fever can trigger this kind of thing.

Edit: I want to make it clear that this isn't always the reason for public defecation. Some people might have something else going on, be it a bowel issue, or such a strong dislike of a neighbor or business and the ability to detach from their shame long enough to make their hatred known, lol.

Personally, I couldn't do it, assuming I was in a normal mental state. Not even if I was guaranteed no witnesses or cameras. I wouldn't even pull over to do it on the side of the freeway. I just couldn't. I'd be far too mortified.

So is the mystery pooper case in Oregon still unsolved, or did it all come out in the end? Did LE collect evidence at the scene of the crime?

It's a fetish.

LE should collect all clearly human samples, process them for DNA and add them to a DNA database. It might help solve crimes and deter those inclined to this behaviour.

I don't know about it all coming out in the end, but it all certainly comes out of the end.

Good idea but I think Othram is backlogged at this time and the Phantom Pooper clearly is not.

What makes you think we are backlogged?

That makes sense. I understand it if a person has a medical disorder. But some of these people are lucid and appear "normal." Given the context, I think you might be right. Not to kink shame anyone, but... 🤮

Maybe she is pooping there because it's a safe, private spot. She feels comfortable pooping there.
I had a policeman come ask me for my surveillance because one of the neighbors saw a lady peeing in the road. I said all the stuff that goes on in this neighborhood and someone is complaining about someone peeing in the road. I have bladder issues so I was sympathetic to her. When you have to go you have to go. But I figured she was doing something else so I sent him the surveillance.
The policeman said people poop all over. That's why it is against the law.
I agree there can be emergencies for many reasons. Running is something that can cause people to have an emergency. Thankfully this particular problem isn't one that I have, but many people get a few miles in to a run and literally get the runs. If you've ever ran a race and used one of the course porta potties you'd see it can be quit the situation in there. lol

What I don't understand is why the person would go back to the same spot to do this. It's one thing if it's a wooded area away from homes that she was using, but to return to the same house and do this seems intentional. If I realized I had this problem while running, I would plan my run routes to include an area that would not be around homes so I could have options. I think once is an emergency and you gotta do what you gotta do. Twice or more seems like choosing to do this in that spot and that is what makes it not okay to me. I'd be so embarrassed if I had to go near someone's home and would definitely plan something better for future runs.

Nothing. It was a joke. I meant to say “backed up” but was very tired and said “backlogged”. If I had said that the Phantom Pooper clearly was not backed up (having done her thing on four occasions), the joke would have been more clear.

Oh ok. We certainly have plenty of capacity for even the largest backlogs of cases :)

Also, she didn't clean up after herself. If there is a medical condition, she would know to carry poop bags, if she wasn't being malicious.

You got that right! I only can say personally I would have went home and returned to clean up the mess. I would do the same with a pet I was walking, if I ran out of bags. I have driven back in my car after the walk to pick up what was left. It is just being a decent human. I think things happen and can happen, but we can still do the right thing even if something is less than ideal.

I can understand why you used 'log' by mistake...
