Marlena Rena Mizell, 49, was reported missing by her boyfriend on Jan. 3, according to a Colorado Bureau of Investigation news release. The CBI is assisting the South Fork Police Department in the case.

Mizell was last seen leaving the Rainbow Motel, 30359 Highway 160, South Fork, just before noon on Jan. 2, the release said. She has had no contact with family or friends since.

The motel manager told police that Mizell drove off from the motel in a blue Ford Focus hatchback, the release said. The Ford has a Texas license plate, NMK 6052. The front bumper fairing is secured by wire on the driver’s side. Paint has chipped away under a rear spoiler making it appear like a gray stripe. The rear window wiper is missing.

Something doesn't sit right with all this reporting. LE and some MSM articles say that Marlena was last seen at a motel. Some MSM articles and NamUs report that she was pumping gas at Rainbow grocery. A motel manager claims he/she watched Marlena drive away from the motel. Which is it? Does the Rainbow Motel and Rainbow Grocery gas station share a lot or building?

One sighting might have been in person and another by a surveillance camera.

Her car had Texas plates - is she from there and would she be returning there? MIZELL, MARLENA RENA Inmate 43793: Wood County Jail in Quitman, TX

Thanks for the info -- looks like she was charged with pot possession of less than 2 ounces -- no way she's selling with that kind of quantity...unless she had quantity and got rid of it. Sounds more like recreational amt to me.
No biggie in court, IMO, unless she been charged for this type thing many times. It's still a PITA for LE, the court principals, etc.

I appreciate the links, @PommyMommy! I've got a better idea of the locations in question. There are two rivers that run nearby. I wonder if they've been searched. Where'd the bf say she was supposedly heading to when she drove away? Has anyone searched the area where her phone last pinged?

BBM. If I understood correctly, the area of last ping is not specific enough for a SAR team to get involved. Marlena's daughters went there and did some searching, with the help of locals they met along the way.

Missing Woman: State Now Helping In Search For Marlena Mizell

Police say her boyfriend reported her as missing on Jan. 3, but she was last seen on Jan. 2 leaving the Rainbow Motel on Highway 160.

Please call the South Fork Police Department at 719 873-1040 with any information connected to this case. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is now helping in the investigation.

Woman missing out of South Fork for a month

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is asking the public for information about a woman who has been missing from South Fork since early January.

“Our investigators have been working this missing person case for nearly a month and are seeking any new information that might lead to the location of Ms. Mizell,” said South Fork Police Chief Hank Weber.

Marlena's car has been located, but the police are not telling where. Due to weather conditions, it has not been recovered yet. She is still missing.

“We are not releasing a lot of information at this time including the location of the vehicle for safety reasons. We are waiting for weather and snow to change in order to recover the vehicle from its location but as of today, Monday, Feb. 22 Mizell remains missing,” said Weber.

The vehicle that was located is not in the N.M. area but is near South Fork.

"Last week, Mizell's grown daughters, Sarah Ferguson and Megan Mizell, revealed in an interview with Tyson Draper, the host of the YouTube show Tyger True Crime, that their mother vanished a day after disseminating nude photos of her fiance's alleged lover.

Megan Mizell said she last spoke to her mother on the phone at 10.16am on the morning of her disappearance, and she said it was a 'semi-normal' conversation that lasted a couple of minutes.

No idea what the road conditions heading down the pass to Pagosa that night were like without a search from Jan 2nd. Google maps don’t describe the steep drop offs, hairpin curves or the possibility of another vehicle going the opposite direction uphill misjudging the curve causing her to swerve or brake.
