I hope if LE definitively rules out SS, that they make a statement saying so. He’s being raked over the coals and I do worry about his well being if he didn’t do anything to Natalie.

We aren’t sure if that body is even hers though. Nothing confirmed other than the family giving bits of info to the media (which I really wonder if it was a direct quote or the MSM took it from their facebooks)

If it is her body, she should be easily identified by the metal rods in her leg and ankle. I believe they always have serial numbers on them

BBM; The body has been identified. They know who the deceased person is.
The victim has been identified, but the name will not be released until after the family members have been contacted.

They just won't officially release the ID until the autopsy is complete. This is normal procedure even if they can easily tell right off who it is.
The identity of the body will not be officially released by the coroner until an autopsy has been completed.

IIMO this is all normal, and like LE and like MSM, WS will hold off changing the classification of this thread until after it is officially announced regardless of what is said on SM. As the death is being investigated as a homicide no stone will be left unturned in the autopsy.

So for now, as LE has said, until then it remains a missing person investigation.

She has posts on her social media about being 30 days sober, NA meetings..I wonder if there were any issues stemming from there...

So sad, but I know of many recently-sober addicts who relapsed and took as much as they used to when, in fact, their bodies could not handle the old amount...Therefore, they overdosed and died. Maybe why there's not much being said in MSM?

She was found in a random field and it sounds like it was immediately clear it was likely a homicide, so my guess is that there was some obvious trauma. We don’t even know what sort of addiction issues she had but unless it was heroin or very strong opioid prescription meds, it’s likely this was not an OD. IMO of course

The Denver Post is reporting the investigation as a homicide. An Adams County deputy does use the word deliberate and also states there are people of interest but doesn't name anyone. I am sure LE has reasons for taking a silent position. A statement from the deputy says, “It appears to be isolated,” he said. “Not someone out on a killing spree or anything like that.” Imo, based on that they likely have a lot more info that nobody knows anything about, except for whoever may be involved with NB's disappearance. I agree that it's probably not an OD. Not saying drugs don't factor in somehow, but I don't think it's related to being disposed of on a dirt road. NB doesn't come off as a hard drug user, imo. Pot maybe, but honestly that's also jmo. This case has some striking similarities to another recent case I am following in Nebraska. I hope in both cases, justice is found for these young women.

I wouldn't think that she would use the word 'sober' if she were talking about drugs. It sounds like alcohol to me.

People in Narcotics Anonymous typically identify as "Clean and sober"

People who are pure alcoholic do not go to NA meetings. If she was a member of NA, she felt she had a drug problem. IME

And I know we can't refer or mention rumors on SM but I will say that meth is unfortunately 'big' in Colorado in this day and age.

I'm not an expert but I had a roommate with Aspergers many years ago and learned quite a bit. During high stress, people with Aspergers can also exhibit very childlike behavior. Other indicators of a person experiencing anxiety may include the individual feeling incredibly self-conscious and overloaded and they may ‘speak' through ‘characters' or phrases from TV shows; jingles; objects; as another person, or they may retreat to a corner, drawing up the knees to their chest; mumbling; etc. I've not looked at the video referenced as the individual is not a named POI at this time, but sharing this to help out.

I had an ex with Asperger's. He thought and said pretty outlandish things. He was very intelligent, though.
Sadly, he got into meth (which is why he's my ex) & it turned him whacko when he was using. He was seriously like a different person (Jeckyll & Hyde).
I don't think SS killed NB.
I kind of wonder if SS is on meth, though.

Yes. Meth and heroin. MOO but I also don’t think people go to NA for pot. Especially since it’s legalized there.

This case has become bizarre. My heart aches for Natalie, how can she Rest In Peace?

I am wondering what is going on with Colorado law enforcement. There is another case just a short distance away of a young man who is also missing and there has been no press releases or searches.

Don’t they usually release the name and say cause of death is pending awaiting autopsy results?

Most of the time yes. The silence is just weird, and coupled with the scuttlebutt happening makes this, an already uncomfortable situation, even more uncomfortable. I used to think nothing would surprise me at all after following so many cases here but this one has me very surprised in many ways.

We aren’t allowed to post things said by Natalie directly from her personal Facebook? The posts were public?

I think for the victim's page you can reference specific posts, summarize the content of the posts, etc. Not sure if direct quotes are allowed. Brb i will check the SM rules and update my post.

ETA- From social media rules here:
Approved SM Pages/Profiles

Individuals

Victim (missing or murdered person)

Suspect (as indicated by LE)

* Links may be used to direct members to posts made by a victim or a suspect.

* Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed.

* Paraphrasing is okay.

* Posts by friends and visitors are off limits.

* Do not link to an individual’s (victim or suspect) social media page if you are not 100% certain it belongs to the correct individual.

* If a social media page is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

I guess I will try and paraphrase what she said? She was a cutter and in 2015, posted that she has many scars on her arms and it was how she coped with things in her past. She also made two posts about parents. One about good vs bad parents, and the other about how the only man in her life that should never let her down repeatedly did so.

Thank you!! I thought the victim’s public posts were fair game

Edit: saw your Edit, thanks! Didn’t realize I couldn’t post screen caps. Will get links

I’m hoping the silence from LE is simply because of the holiday. Sitting on my hands about lots of other stuff.
