If there is no confirmation from LE that the body is indeed Natalie and no confirmation she is dead - why is there a fundraiser to cover her funeral costs??

I did a quick Google search and found it.

They suspected it was her based on gender and general age, but it was not confirmed by the coroner until today. You have to click on the release to enlarge it to read.

Thanks. That had not yet been posted when I posted above (or I may have missed it). Perhaps the delay in confirmation was only because of the New Years holiday? IDK.

I think they just mean she was formally identified today during autopsy. Her family started posting two days ago that they identified her

“We're working with Adams County. Because it happened there, it is their lead. We are assisting," Brewer said. "Our investigators are working alongside theirs now."

Police were unclear when the family was notified.

"As of right now, it's still an active investigation," Brewer said.

Broomfield police confirmed on Saturday that they had spoken with a man named Shawn Schwartz, against whom Bollinger had obtained a permanent restraining order in mid-December.

"We have nobody in custody yet," Brewer said. "As far as who we are looking at, obviously we can't release that."”

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is such a weird case. It seems so typical to me.... not releasing anything formally until all family (mom flies in town) has been notified and some dental, fingwrprint, dna testing confirms it's her. Nothing seems odd about this case yet. Other than the murder of a girl who had lots of life to live, obviously!!!

Now, they get to find some solid evidence if this was work of the stalker or someone else really horrible.

Rest well, sweetie. You deserved so much more than life gave you.

I just noticed this case. Her FB states she lives not far from me in Chesapeake. In fact, she mentions Military Hwy on FB. But there is nothing in the news here. Really sad case here in any event.

She did live there but then moved back to Colorado

I think it is more that the people involved are weird or acting strangely.
