“We love him,” Michelle said. “If there’s any way he can reach out to us, to just please do so.”

“We want him to know that everything is OK and we want him to know that if life takes a different path for him, that’s okay,” Jonathan said. “But we’re still here to support him.”

Excellent question! Zero updates in over two months has me scratching my head.

Police say his vehicle, a 1999 black Toyota Rav 4, was later found abandoned in Salida on March 3, 2021.

NS had been at his family home in Eaton, CO and drove back to CS -- texting his mom on Feb 22 when he arrived on campus. His vehicle was later found abandoned in Salida. His last contact with family was Feb 24.

Hiking? Camping? Hot springs? Rafting?

It's been more than a year since Nathan last had contact with anybody and his bankcard has not been used since he purchased petrol in February 2021. Seems that the $20K reward generated no leads either.

Since he's an adult and investigators found no signs of foul play, I'm afraid his vehicle was not searched/examined for foreign DNA.

While I'm afraid this is a situation where a young man was not coping well post COVID lockdown and succumbed to outdoor misadventure, we will never know since his vehicle was likely treated as abandoned after it was found parked for excess days.

I'm reminded of 22 yr old Jason Landry, TX still missing after he left his wrecked vehicle abandoned on a rural road when he was headed home from University for Christmas break.

Salida Police look for missing man

Salida police are seeking a 22-year-old man who was reported missing in Weld County.

Nathan Schwartz, of Eaton, was headed to Colorado Springs Feb. 22, [Mon] to go back to school according to his uncle, Tom Roberts of Greeley.

He texted his mother Feb. 24, [Weds] and the last ping from his cell phone was Saturday night from Salida.

Schwartz’s car was found late Tuesday afternoon.

Police attempted to locate Schwartz in the immediate neighborhood and were told the car had not been moved for about three days.

Roberts said the family has gotten access to Schwartz’s debit card information and the card has not been active since a gasoline purchase was made last week.

Salida police chief Russ Johnson said the family was concerned about a medical issue that needs to be addressed.

I'm not aware of a sighting in Salida reported by MSM -- I suppose, technically, all we know for certain is that his phone and vehicle were in Salida but who knows about Nathan.

They learned this year at the event about the immense need for support groups of family and friends of missing people across the state and nation.

Then came the idea for the Schwartzes to form their own group: Northern Colorado Support for Loved Ones of Missing Persons. The inaugural meeting is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Community Grief Center in Greeley.

This summer, Jonathan attended a session chaired by a woman with a missing sister. She had no formal training but could relate to what everyone was going through, Jonathan said.

The Schwartzes hope to provide the same support to people across northern Colorado looking for a safe space to discuss their grief.

“Everybody’s case is completely different,” Jonathan said. “We all shared our experiences, but it was all different individually, yet we all belong to the same feelings of knowing what it’s like to have a loved one that’s missing.”

That's so kind of them to open a support group for families of missing persons.

I really do hope they can find Nathan soon. He seems like such a nice young man.
