I wonder if she was able to swim? The Blue River doesn't seem very deep. Of course that wouldn't mean much if she was injured when the boat capsized.

I am aware this is an old comment, but feel compelled to respond. Early June is a very volatile time to be on any river in the mountains in Colorado. Depending on the amount of snow received any given winter and how long winter lasts, the rivers swell to very high depth and have very rapid flows from massive snow melt. If this disappearance happened during what we call runoff, she may have been carried very far down river very fast. We have many people every year travel into runoff waters and a lot of times their bodies are not recovered or recovered miles down river. Many of these rivers also have very deep pools that trap debris because the under current. This photo appears to be from autumn and rivers tend to have a lot less water. Even at this time there are still very real dangers. This snippet of the river does not represent every stretch of this water way.
