"A rock shattered a driver-side window near Vine and Waterglen drives in Fort Collins on Monday afternoon, but police are still trying to determine from where the rock came."

Rock blamed for shattered window in northeast Fort Collins

Thank you! This one should probably stay on the map. Here's a screen shot. The new marker, labeled "Shat. 6/15/15", is the third from the top and in purple, for now.

"Police still don't know how the rock flew up to hit the window. Police say the driver is "insistent" that no other cars were around. The intersection has gravel, but police aren't ruling out that someone may have used a sling shot or threw the rock."

(I still can not help wonder if our perp(s) goes to CSU, or at least lives nearby there. jmo. CSU is visible in one of the map screenshots I posted upstream.)

Interesting how yesterday's incident location has more houses nearby...

We've got another Monday for the table...

I wonder if there is the possibility that the perp commutes to attend CSU?

IF the shootings and shatterings are the work of the same perp(s), I'm afraid I would classify the recent shatterings are clearly taunting. jmo

Quick poll: anyone here think its possible at this time that the shatterings vs shootings are the work of different perp(s)?

Quick poll:?

QP Answer

If it is a taunt, on the part of a perp/s who murdered two people, injured one and has taken various shots at others, either while moving or from a still positions, up to now, targeting a pedestrian, a bicycler, cars and trucks, then he's/they are a total wimp/s and telling themselves/himself something else.

(I still can not help wonder if our perp(s) goes to CSU, or at least lives nearby there. jmo. CSU is visible in one of the map screenshots I posted upstream.)

As Foxfire mentioned, while you were away, it may be somebody highly organized, obsessed, and it could be an older student or person, but there's this childishness to the acts beside the malevolence, it it seems to me.

Thank you for taking the time to check in and for this update and more, margarita25. Clearly, we'd miss most of the news if it weren't for your updates, information and perspective. Will wait till you get back, be well and better.

<BBM for Focus>

You may be on to something, Hatfield. The NO CO Sniper/Serial Killer may no longer be the hunter, but may have now become the hunted, imo. If this is the case, this is likely due to the awareness being created by the MSM coverage and social media, combined with the raising of the reward, and the loosening up of info<vehicle/s of interest, etc.> being released to the citizens by the task force, imo.
It is also possible that the task force already has the shooter on their radar, or even in their cross hairs, but is crossing their T's and dotting their I's to insure a successful prosecution..

The two things that we can be reasonably sure of is that there has been no more shootings or murders of innocent victims since the June 3/2015 killing of 65 year old William Roger Connole Jr.. and the Co Sniper/Serial Killer is no longer escalating..

<snipped from link & BBM for Focus>

On June 3/2015, William Connole, Jr. was shot and killed at East First Street and Saint Louis Avenue in Loveland.

The task force, comprised the FBI and multiple northern Colorado law enforcement agencies, has linked the shootings of Romero and Jacoby. The task force has said the shooting death of Connole is likely linked to the other two shootings.
______________________________

Imo, many, if not most of the shattered windows incidents will not be linked to the CO Serial Sniper/Killer by the Task Force due to a lack of thorough initial investigations by first responding officers, combined with the length of time that has passed since the incidents..
Ironically, imo, this was the intent of this well versed investigative and forensically aware organized serial shooter/killer.
This is indicated due to the many police jurisdictions where the shattered window incidents occurred. Due to the lack of communication between the various LE agencies, and the common occurrance of shattered car windows by road debris, the proverbial dots were simply not connected.

This calculating and creative serial predator has used jurisdictional linkage blindness very effectively to delay the dark and bleak portrait, that he has been masterfully, yet patiently painting, from being revealed until the time he so chooses for the unveiling..

Respectfully briefed

I would suppose a vested interest in LE investigations would be companies that claim to provide all the data and analytics at LE's finger tips.

Put me down for a single perp., or two working together. The links between the window and the people shootings are only circumstantial, but there's an awful lot of circumstance involved.

But I'm surprised that he (gotta be a he, no?) continues to break windows. Having graduated to murder, and with the 'heat' turned up, I'd have thought he would limit his risk taking to life threatening shots.

I think at least some of the shatterings are the work of our shooter. The CR incident seems to be the link. But I suspect that not all of the window shatterings are related. There may be a couple that are from road debris or some defect. And unfortunately, it isn't uncommon for vandals, especially at the time of year when schools are getting out, to shoot out windows with bb/pellet guns. But the fact that there have been so many shatterings in such a small area, in a similar fashion, and taking the CR shooting into account, I would guess many are the work of our shooter, either as he was just getting started and before he escalated his violence, or perhaps he was trying to actually shoot drivers, but was just missing. Its just hard to pin down right now because there is, as far as I know, no way to definitively link the window shatterings because there isn't any evidence.

I am a bit perplexed by the "deescalation" as well. Makes me think the later window breakings are copy-cats or just totally unrelated. Of course, don't rule out the possibility that someone might break there own window, then report it, just to get attention.

Or, depending on their insurance, a replacement window for one that may have already had some damage -- especially after all of the reports about shattered windows and the hysteria surrounding them.

Wasn't the Task Force spokesperson supposed to get back with 7NEWS' Marshall Zelinder, yesterday concerning April and May incident reports of the auto window shatterings in the counties of concern?

<snipped from linked article below>

Dozens of shattered car window cases in Northern Colorado now being reviewed by shooting task force

Dozens of drivers have reported their windows shattered, mainly on Interstate 25 between Erie and Fort Collins.

Last month, 7NEWS received 22 April incident reports from Weld County, detailing car windows shattering. 7NEWS also requested shattered window data for May along with similar April and May incident reports from Larimer County.

But authorities denied those requests, saying those shattered window incidents are now being investigated by the task force looking into three shootings.

I would be very surprised if our shooter has just stopped. It just doesn't make sense.

SugarQueen, I honor and respect your opinion, but respectfully disagree.. It makes perfect sense that the shooter would attempt to go dark due to the amount of awareness created in this case and the recent doubling of the reward amount to $20,000.00 and a vehicle of interest. Hopefully the release of a sketch or description of a person of interest will soon follow by the CO sniper/serial killer task force.

Thanks for the input. That makes sense. He has to be itching to do something, or maybe he's in panic mode?

here is another article covering the window shattering yesterday...
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_28326097/window-shattered-along-interstate-25-tuesday-afternoon
the latest advice to us..."If you see something that may be out of place or something that just doesn't feel right, please contact police immediately"

I drove by this exact spot yesterday about an hour before this happened... and I wish more people would be willing to talk about all this...I was in Loveland over the weekend and met 2 young adult men from Berthoud that hadn't heard anything about the shootings or shatterings...I think many don't watch TV, don't read the news and basically don't want to talk about it...just keeping their heads in the sand....
