I usually follow the cases in my state. But tonight is the first time I've read the entire thread. Some things are just too horrific for even me, who googles things like "how long does it take for a body to decompose."This case hits way too close to home, too. I've tried to avoid it, but this case is all over my fb and twitter feeds, as well as the news. I lived in Longmont, and Boulder County for 20 years, and I currently live in Pueblo, where Dynel's son lost his life. I have followed Stan Garnett's career and even voted for him for Attorney General. He has successfully gone after the perps in Boulder cold cases, and there is no doubt in my mind that if he had been the DA in '96, the Ramsey's would have been indicted. He is a tough prosecutor, and I believe, a good and just man. His hands are tied by the law. Now, I am going to state my opinion and I'm sure I'll enrage a few people (I know I probably angered the IDIs with my Ramsey remark

. I voted against the Personhood bill, and I will do it again, and again-as many times as it is on the ballot, and it usually is. It was soundly defeated last year 64% to 36%. This is clearly what the people of Colorado want, and it's what I want. The Unlawful Termination of A Pregnancy law carries a sentence of 32 years, which is a pretty hefty punishment. The attempted murder charge can bring a sentence of 48 years, so she is looking at 80 years right there, not counting 7 other charges. The Unlawful Termination law is a compromise to protect other women from going to prison for 20 years for a miscarriage, like what happened in Indiana to Purvi Patel. Do I feel in my heart it was murder? Of course. One of the most heinous, horrifying and heartbreaking ones I've ever heard of. I can't even bear to talk about it, or read about it, it hurts my heart so. But I don't want a law that will victimize other women. On a positive note, I am stunned by Michelle's beauty, grace and courage. She is not just a heroine, but a warrior woman who will get through this nightmare and have an amazing life in spite of this. After all that poor woman has gone through, she positively glows. I have faith in Garnett and believe that Dynel will be in prison for the rest of her natural life. I really believe that. I do believe there will be justice for Aurora.
