I might be losing my mind, but I thought there was already a thread on this case. Perhaps I read that articles and simply thought, "I'm sure there is already a thread on this case." It's disturbing if what the widow says is true. I can't imagine what it would be like to presume that 911 is expediting support in response to your call!

I would have thought so too but I searched twice before posting. My apologies if it turns out there's another thread on this.

“Qualin Campbell, 32, was killed in what police are investigating as a murder/suicide just one mile from the police dispatch center.”

One mile.

This whole story from start to finish is crazy. What year was the car? My car doors lock automatically when my car is in drive. Where was the car when the transient jumped in? At a stoplight? In a parking lot?

QC was driving to work. The family lived in Colorado Springs. I wonder how far he had to drive each day to work, as it took his wife 45 minutes to reach his location (I am guessing he was sharing his location with her via the "Find My Phone" or "Share Location").

And then she calls 911 but that first dispatcher transfers her to Colorado Springs dispatch. Where was the wife? Maybe she wasn't at home and that's why her phone didn't ring through to Colorado Springs dispatch in the first place?

Not doubting her story, just trying to make sense of it.

I would like to know timelines. What time he left for work. What time he texted her about someone jumping in his car. What time she called 911. What time she arrived at her husband's car.

I wonder if she could see that the gunman was dead. Because I would be so scared to approach that vehicle, wondering if the gunman was going to kill me.

According to the last article in the OP, they didn’t live right in the Springs, they lived in Peyton which is 25 miles away. Could be why it took that long for her to reach his location.

Did we know the name of the alleged shooter who killed himself after killing Qualin? David Karels.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle has been identified as El Paso County resident 31-year-old Qualin Campbell. Mr. Campbell's death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police say the passenger has been identified as Colorado Springs resident, 44-year-old David Karels. After an autopsy, police are investigating Karels' death as a suicide.
