Good bet that CPS will take the children, at least temporarily. I wonder how these kids who freely swear and appear to have little discipline will react in such a situation.

I hope that the children do have an Aunt or Grandparent they like near by. It would really make them stressful to go into a home where they have no comfort.

New reality show idea!

Cell mate swap starring Richard Heene! :behindbar
The little guy in the cage made me think of the "Cops" song.
Whatcha goin' do when they come for you, Richard?

As someone preparing to have a third boy, I'm so torn. I feel like this is a completely dysfunctional way to raise children and it makes me sad. I worry for these kids and how much of their parents' worldview (or purported worldview) they'll adopt. These people aren't right.

On the other hand, if they're clothed, fed, and sheltered, should they be removed to take up resources that might better belong to undeniably abused children? I wouldn't be against them staying with other, more rational family members for awhile, though.

That is understandable.
I love your picture. So cute.

The presser was a little wonky for me on a couple of points. The guy said that the physics professor re-calulated and it "wouldn't take flight." Did he mean "wouldn't take flight WITH the child in it?" b/c it clearly did take flight. And big whoop that they let LE search the house. What were they GOING to say? They couldn't say no without looking fishy. Also, I wish he wouldn't keep saying "the information provided by Richard" like the weight of the child. I hope they don't blindly believe anything Richard told them; They should check things themselves.

So they got a search warrant for computers, phone records, videos etc. Also, the sheriff said that they are looking at at least two class 4 felonies and the misdemeanor already mentioned of "making a false report;" The other charge they're looking at is conspiracy. I didn't hear what type of charge that is. He said that "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" is one of the class 4 felonies. (Wow I didn't know that.) The other one is, "attempting to influence a public servant" which is pretty broad. He also said that LE cant legally discuss polygraphs, but I wonder if they've "lawyered up" as they say. If so, then I don't know if the atty would have them consent to a poly.

Interesting.

That's exactly what I was thinking - what now for these children and this family? Quite a moral dilemma, imo.

Now they think that some Media is into this "Hoax"? WOW

  • #1,352
I wonder what they mean about some others, including news outlet, possibly being part of the conspiracy by knowing it was a hoax. The tv station he first called has said they thought it was BS.

I'm concerned the children remaining in the home.after seeing their dad as a hot head and both parents are delusional.

HOAX!! Publicity stunt!!!

I was floored by this post at first, because I thought it meant the Heenes had admitted it. But I now see it was the sheriff who said this at his press conference (correct me if I am wrong).

Anyone else have the Rock the Cazbah in their heads right now? "Sharif won't like it..."

May have drugged kids?

I hope their arrests puts to rest any possibility of them proffiting off this hoax - I hope it's a condition of their convictions.

I understand, but I am not 100% sure there isn't physical or emotional/mental/verbal abuse going on in here. I am glad they are investigating, and I do think relatives might be better... Though it's hard to imagine a grandmother or some other older relative dealing with all three of these three wild ones.

he threw up on both ABC and NBC

My apologies for popping into this thread mid-stream [and without reading], but the vomiting I saw on tv [GMA?], Falcon sat through the whole interview with food or something in his cheeks before puking - almost on cue, with prop bowl oh-so-handy. Well, that's what it looked like to me.

Do you usually carry an insulated bag where ever you go? I noticed last night that MOM was carrying this as they ran to the van as well. Maybe someone does needs something medical at times.
