I just went back and started reading from when the story first broke, our great investigators here at websleuths had this whole thing figured out within 2 hours after Falcon was found. Almost 3 days before LE figured out they were really bad actors.:woohoo:

ITA Can you imagine what it did to those boys - emotionally and morally - to sit through those interviews with their father, knowing he was lying and requiring them to lie with him?

You could almost tell what was going on in thier minds and what types they were by watching...

The littlest one just seemed hyper and didn't really understand the implications, until the next day, at least. I worry about what an earful he got after the LKL show.

The middle one gave me the impression of a kid trying hard to think about other things...

But the eldest, quiet one seemed disturbed by it all. You could see his mind reeling as he watched his dad talk.

Yes, I figured the parents coached them on what to say, so they (and we) were surprised when Falcon let the cat out of the bag. I'm wondering what went wrong; Maybe what happened (and anyone else who has a thought I'd like to hear it too) I'm guessing maybe what happened when Falcon spilled the beans was A.) he was tired and it's harder to keep your stuff together when you're zonked. B.) On LKL it looked like they were doing a remote interview where they were at home (or wherever) and Wolf was somewhere else. I think Falcon didn't hear Wolf ask the question b/c Dad repeated it. I wonder when Dad asked Falcon the question if he thought it was just Dad asking - iow just chatting among thmselves? and not on TV? IDK. Im grabbing straws. Or maybe he just let it slip b/c he's six, for cryin out loud, and that's a lot of pressure. I'm just sort of curious what set the ball in motion for Falcon to bust them. (Sorry for all the metaphors - heh.) What do you guys think made him spill it? Gosh I hope the father didn't go nuts and chew the poor kid out. I can totally see that happening. No wonder he was throwing up. (If he was, that is; LFlorida and some others had seen his cheeks full; so that's debatable too I guess.) Sheesh.

You could tell all the boys had been told, "dont say...." -- this or that b/c before they spoke they'd look around at Mom and Dad and their heads were darting back and forth. It was hard to watch really - kind of excrucitating in the pit of your stomch. KWIM?

It makes me feel a little better to hear the sheriff say that LE were deliberately lulling them into complacency by saying that they believed them initially. Someone here mentioned that that may have been LE's strategy; so good catch on that one. (forgot who it was)

Also, there was mention of the ACLU helping them find (or paying for?) an atty for him or them. I'd think the wife would need a separate atty, especially if her defense will be some version of, "he made me do it," (which frankly, I may be leaning toward; haven't decided yet.) But about getting her own atty, well, I don't know beans about law. I haven't seen enough video of the two interacting to take a guess whether she seems like an abused woman, but that 911 call and trip to the house where the officer saw a bruise and broken blood vessels earlier this year is disturbing.

Also, I get the sense that some of his antics are intentionally over the top to create controversy and buzz about him from the, "negative attention is better than no attention" school of thought. But even so, aside from the violent outbursts on the swap show etc, he still strikes me as a person with anger issues. I'm saying that just from his demeanor on LKL.

Who says they only wanted to partially release it? That was their story, but the sheriff says he believes the whole thing was a hoax.
So their story is that they wanted to partially release it, but why would you believe that's what they actually wanted? It doesn't make any sense that they would only want to partially release it if the whole thing was a hoax.

No, I think they meant to release it all the way. I just would like to know - what the heck made them think people would buy the "we were just going to let it hover" excuse? If it still needs to be tethered in order to hover, and the dad is having a fit on the video because the mom didn't keep it tethered, why does he expect the public or LE to buy the hovering excuse?

Fox News reports.....the Sheriff has lost all credibility/crossing the line with the public and media in believing their story when all along he knew that it was a hoax. I suppose he went along with it to get more information. He admitted one media outlet was in on the truth. O'Reilly will be interviewing the Sheriff tomorrow night on Fox.

Im totally OK with LE lying to me, media, or anyone else to get the job done or gain evidence needed to charge people. That is part of strategy imo and not a cred issue for me. It is frustrating tho. I get that. But Im guessing Richard would not have voluntarily showed up at the police station if the sheriff had been on every channel saying, "We dont believe these jokers.. This was definitely a hoax" etc.

I'm honestly worried about little Falcon. His father is delusional enough to think he would have gotten away with this if not for him. I sure hope they are on high alert for any hangup 911 calls or noise reports from neighbors.

Thing is, the little boy didn't give it away half as much as the dad did with his reaction. I mean, if he were as smart as he thinks he is, he could have responded with a laugh and something like, "No, not this show... he asked why you hid - you hid because you were afraid of getting in trouble, didn't you?"

Instead, he gave it all away with his visibly panicked response, dissolving into a half-conscious word salad about how he loves to hide 'n stuff. :crazy:

I noticed on the LK show the father blamed the mother for not securing the tethers and the oldest boy Bradford for stating he saw Falcon go into the base of the balloon. Hmmmm, that father sure knows how to 'cover' his faults, eh?

Watching the press conference the other day, I couldn't believe the Sheriff's view on this. He absolutely didn't think this was a hoax. Big change of view now.

He said the child was interviewed. He said the child was too hyper to be able to hide for four hours. On one hand, this made sense to me. There is no way I could get my kids to hide for that long at that age. On the other hand, these kids have been brought up amongst actors. This little six year old boy is obviously very smart, judging by any videos I have seen of him. He's been brought up in the spotlight. His parents have been seeking more attention, wanting their own reality show. These kids know what they live.

I hope these parent feel shame. The whole world now knows what type of people they are. :furious:

My personal opinion...I think these two are idiots, but I believe they love their kids. They need to pay for what they have done. Hopefully they will get their chit together after this.

What it cost the city in Police power alone is a huge amount LE alone all the other expenses. this man is :crazy:
And it will take him a long time to clean his mess up.

I would guess this is blood out of a turnip. He has a long trail of unpaid bills and failed businesses. His plan for media fame and wealth is pretty much gone, at least for now. Like Octomom, I doubt anyone would touch him right now except to exploit his story.

I wonder why he thought he could pull this off -- I mean really?
