I know :) I was just wondering what happened b/c up until then, he had held it together for X number of hours and made it thru other question sessions with media without blowing it.

LOL, he was given a direct question and answered it.

RH would have been much better off answering for him. At least for awhile.

Cnn Now they have a lawyer. They want to turn themselves in. The attorney said, if they get arrested at their house it would be just to embarrassing for the couple.

LOL, they might have wanted to think about that long before now, though.

Thanks Norway but this article called him Michael also. Is it Richard or Michael?

http://blog.seattlepi.com/thebigblog/archives/182223.asp

Well ... I've seen him as Richard everywhere (and have been cursing him as such since yesterday). I think this blog has it wrong. But maybe his name is M. Richard Henne or Richard Michael Henne.

LOL ... so much for his 15 minutes of fame if people are getting his name wrong -- might serve him right!

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon_henne"]Wikipedia has him as Richard.[/ame]
Wiki has him as Richard and his MySpace does too (Hmm is this him; he says he is single).

A lawyer representing the parents accused of concocting a story that their son was in an escaped balloon says his clients are willing to turn themselves in to face any charges.
Denver attorney David Lane says he's representing Richard and Mayumi Heene. He says he wants to avoid "the public spectacle and humiliation" of police arresting them in the presence of their children.
Lane says he's advised the family not to make any statements on the matter.

I just went back and started reading from when the story first broke, our great investigators here at websleuths had this whole thing figured out within 2 hours after Falcon was found. Almost 3 days before LE figured out they were really bad actors.:woohoo:

LOL I don't think the LE is at liberty to be as free as WS is with what they can say. We cant be sued for gathering links and having opinions. BUT the police has to be very accurate (not that they don't fib, or make some legitimate errors) But they have to be accurate before they make an official report so I think they go through it again and again hens 3 extra days...
This is definitly the place to come if you want to know the latest update :)

Wikipedia has him as Richard.

Why don't we just call him "that guy"?

Yeah, or he could have acted like a concerned father and said the children were too traumatized to do interviews and he didn't want to subject them to them. But nooooo. This guy is a moron.

I just found Richard Heene's email address

So are you saying that the parents hadn't planned on anyone asking the child a direct question?

Oh, can I answer?!!!! I think the parents are idiots!!! lol. Sorry, carry on.

LOL, no.

But in that case, he could have bypassed his son risking it all and answering right then. (that's what I meant by: RH would have been much better off answering for him. At least for awhile.)

They could have said that little Falcon was traumatized and they wanted him out of the public eye for a while, but the urge to get in the spotlight was too great for Richard.

His plan sucked from the beginning IMO.

Maybe the Sheriff shouldn't have said he didn't believe it was a hoax if it is they must be really good actors. (Not exact words.) 2 days ago.

Does anyone know if Geraldo has a live show tonight, or is it a repeat from last night? Ta

I'd be looking at replacing the Sheriff; he's far too gullible, and should've been suspecting fraud from the get-go; at least I did

  • #1,557
Me too, nnglas. :(

Thing is, the little boy didn't give it away half as much as the dad did with his reaction. I mean, if he were as smart as he thinks he is, he could have responded with a laugh and something like, "No, not this show... he asked why you hid - you hid because you were afraid of getting in trouble, didn't you?"

Instead, he gave it all away with his visibly panicked response, dissolving into a half-conscious word salad about how he loves to hide 'n stuff.

I think even if he started laughing ... "not this show" it would have come out as phony too.
I think he was screwed after the kid said what he said-he'd need to be an Oscar winning caliber actor to pull it off.

Their atty is on CNN saying that he doesnt want a media circus regarding their arrest and doesn't want a "perp walk" for the media's "benefit."

*snort*

(Technically is that called irony?)

.

Im totally OK with LE lying to me, media, or anyone else to get the job done or gain evidence needed to charge people. That is part of strategy imo and not a cred issue for me. It is frustrating tho. I get that. But Im guessing Richard would not have voluntarily showed up at the police station if the sheriff had been on every channel saying, "We dont believe these jokers.. This was definitely a hoax" etc.

MOO
.

The thought did cross my mind that maybe that is what the sheriff was doing, but since the sheriff was saying since the beginning how the family acted all "natural" I decided, nah, he really buys this whole dog and pony show.
The thing is, it's legal for police officers to lie even to suspects, to get them to confess.
So media should just get over it. They were misled a little, so what? I rather them be misled a little than seeing balloon boy's father on TV going on and on how glad he was that his little balloon boy was safe, and being all outraged if someone suggested this was a hoax, and reporters kissing his butt.
