In the second video down the page, at the 1 min 50 sec. mark, Fire Chief Doug Cupp says: “...there was some video (then it gets overdubbed in Spanish) and it looks like Sebastian. He was wearing the same clothes. The video was very grainy and it shows him walking towards the river.“

If they have video, the found phone and shoe, then he must be in the river....

As always, my question has been, was he left at the playground by himself? IMO MOO

In any case I agree that he's probably in the river. The only question I have is how long was he out of sight of both parents? Early on the dad said he and Sebastian's mom thought the other had him and he was unsupervised for about three minutes. Whether that time is accurate, who knows?

The boy’s father, Manuel Rodriguez told our news partners at Univision last Friday Rivas returned home after playing at the park with his mother. He said that at one point, the mom mistakenly thought Rodriguez was watching the boy. Three minutes passed and then Rivas was gone.

Bottom line for me is that with this new information IMO it's likely Sebastian simply slipped away from his parents and went pretty much straight to the river. IOW, he may have passed the playground rather than played there as I had originally believed. MOO.

From what I saw on the first video with the dad and the reporter, the path to the river appeared long and steep. I believe Sebastion going down that path would have most likely stumbled and fallen maybe a few times because it was dark. He may even have been disoriented. Such a sad situation for the entire family.

Good morning fellow WSers. So sad Sebastian has not been found. And sadder still to wonder if he ever will be. I’m still not sure what to think but with the news of video of him headed toward the water I guess there’s little else to believe at this point. Praying he will be found

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — A child's body was found Friday afternoon in the Eagle River between Eagle and Dotsero.

A spokesperson for Eagle County said it was found by someone who was on some sort of watercraft on the river.

The body has not been identified. The spokesperson said it's not clear how long that will take.

I'm going to operate under the assumption that it's Sebastian. Either way, it's extremely sad. Just like the young man from last year, it took a month. That's an agonizingly long amount of time for Sebastian's family. If it's him, I'm glad that he's been recovered. There's another city between Eagle and Dotsero. I wonder why they used Dotsero as a reference point.

Gypsum is the town between Eagle and Dotsero. I read the body was found just east of Dotsero.

It’s hard to “like” a post like this one but we don’t have a thank you option. My prayers go out to the loved ones of whomever this is, though I believe it’s probably little Sebastian. So sad but glad the family will have closure.

I've been dreading this for weeks, but knew it was coming. Poor baby. If this is indeed him, my thoughts and prayers to his family. If by chance it's another child, the same to that family. How devastating this would be. Rest in peace, little one.

I just read an online interview with Sebastion's sister Jackie. She wanted to clear up the discrepancies in what was reported. They live on the first floor and there is a deck. Their father built a fence so Sebastian couldn't get out. She said Sebastion used the satellite dish as leverage to climb the fence to run to the park which is close to their apartment. She said they had just returned from the walk they took and the mother thought the father was watching him as the father always watches Sebastian when he is inside and the mom always watches Sebastian when he is outside. So it might have been Sebastion in the park alone that night. I don't know how to attach a link so you can read it yourself.
