Yes, Ontario mom the river is wide, deep and long. As days went by I hope he had floated way down river but managed to get back on shore exhausted but alive. I hope they find him so the parents can have closure especially the mom after all that's her baby boy. God bless them all, Sebastion, his mom and his dad.

I probably missed discussion of the phone. Did they find a phone? Did it belong to the 3-year-old? Why would a 3-year-old have a phone of any kind? Was it a toy phone?

I read in one of the MSM linked here, that he had the phone with him because he used that to listen to music.

I also do believe the same article said they did find the phone.

He had a cell phone with him; which he took everywhere. It had songs on it he liked. It is my understanding that he is a non-verbal child with autism.

They found the phone on the path that leads to the river.

Just checking in to see if there’s any news on Sebastian. I appreciate clarity on how he got out of the apartment. This is so tragic and while I want to keep hope alive, seeing that river it’s really difficult. Praying without ceasing.

The Greater Eagle Fire. Protection District is putting up more signs looking for information on little Sebastion's whereabouts so they haven't given up yet. I hope the signs produce results. I haven't seen any notice that says they stopped searching the river. Does anyone else know if they stopped searching the river ?

UPDATE 4:45pm 6/14/20 - Sebastian Rodriguez Castro Search

River levels have been rising due to warm temperatures and increased runoff, hindering search efforts.

Greater Eagle Fire Protection District has continued to conduct land and water searches as call volume allows, while other resources (both humans and dogs) were given a much needed rest after pushing hard for 8 days.

Water operations have focused on a few specific areas, some of which are still very dangerous to search due to water levels. A few of these spots will require better water conditions before they can be searched safely.

Numerous counties reported water-related incidents over the weekend, so search and rescue groups are being stretched thin. Please follow safety rules around the water, as unexpected weather can change conditions without warning.

Helicopters will search the area early tomorrow morning. Please do not fly drones in the area, as it will prevent aerial operations from taking place.

It's disheartening to read there are still areas that are too dangerous to search. At this point it sounds like it will be a recovery mission. So sad.

If I was there searching, I'd be singing the theme song to Sesame Street. You know Sunny days etc. Almost every toddler or young child knows that song.
If I was there searching, I’d be singing Baby Shark (doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo). I think BS is more popular nowadays than Sesame Street. JMOO. And it has a catchier tune, IMO. Plus it’s easier to remember, lyrics wise with “doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo” repeated over and over. What autistic doesn’t like repetition!? Whether it’s in the form of a song or otherwise. A lot of autistics use music, or rather one song, played on repeat, as a way of stimming. My thoughts are IMHAspieO.

I fear the worst for little Sebastian but I am really hoping for the best! *fingers crossed*

@SAMS I think I'm having a hard time thinking a 3yr autistic/non verbal boy walks out of his apt with a cell phone and carries it to the water where it was later found. If nothing else I would think he would have dropped it on the walk or if he was the one playing at the playground he would have left it there. Why would he take the phone, he doesn't talk, maybe to play a game or something, IDK. IMO
About 3 years ago I went to the Dr. while in the waiting room a little boy (2 years old), non verbal cane right up to me fascinated by my cell. His mom and I got to talking. Came to find out that he was non-verbal but was a genius if you will and could do anything/everything with a cell phone. Not just playing games and taking photos but anything. I had never seen anything like that. I was flabbergasted! So long story short, it is entirely possible that SC was using the cell phone. I use my cell phone as a way of stimming and I would almost bet any amount of money that that is what he does too. JMHAO.
All things are possible, even with non-verbals ASDers. MOO.

I'm still checking in several times a day, hoping for news. It's such a sad and scary situation and it has to be so hard for his parents. Hoping and praying he's found soon, although I don't have much hope he's alive. Just heartbreaking.

UPDATE 6:00pm 6/15/20 - Sebastian Rodriguez Castro Search

Water levels were up again today in the Eagle River, as a result of much warmer temperatures over the past few days. Helicopters took to the air first thing this morning to aid in the search, and reported excellent visibility, but were still unsuccessful in finding the 3-year-old boy.

Thank you to the Eagle City Market, who donated water and Gatorade for the volunteer search efforts the first weekend. Our apologies for the late recognition; there was such an outpouring of support that we missed this particular contribution. We are honored to serve in such a generous and caring community!

This reporter, Axel Contreras, is at the apartment complex to give everyone an idea of what the outside of Sebastian's apartment and the general area looks like, down to the river.

He shows a fence blocking off the front of their patio, it was referred to as a balcony in the news article (Fox) below.

Axel Contreras said Sebastian's father believes he stepped up on the items in the corner of the patio jumping, climbing over the fence. I can't read Spanish, but I believe this is what he said, correct me if I am wrong.

From Fox News article

"Rodriguez thinks he may have walked out onto the balcony and jumped off. It was unclear as of Thursday night what floor of their apartment building Rivas and Rodriguez live on."

(From the YT video, I am calling it a patio on the first floor. a balcony would be on the second floor)

Axel Contreras then follows a walking path down to the river. He shows where the phone was found too.

The YT video is in Spanish. I used the settings and put the CC on English, but I did not catch everything said.

Here is a video of Sebastian's father, Manuel Rodriguez talking to a reporter

Search continues for 3-year-old Eagle boy missing for a week

June 10th
Correction: Axel Contreras Newscaster professional with 25 years of experience in Radio, who has served as programmer of stations of Radio in the last 12 years

The interviewer is relating the information the father tells him. It’s dubbed over so we don’t know if those are really the father’s words. He says that the child must have gone out the back door because his mom was by the front door. He usually likes to climb out by the corner with the aid of the satellite dish. The father says though there are two ways to get to the river, the shortest way is further away. They go down the long way and they think he was able to walk down the trail and not roll down. Once they get to the bottom of the trail, they point out the big rocks where the phone was found Sunday around 3-4pm. They say the water was covering the rocks then due to the river being higher.

I am working on a translation for work today due tomorrow so I cannot translate the second video as it is too long. But started listening to it and the father clearly says that SEBASTIAN IS NOT AUTISTIC. He does have a speech delay because he was born with a hearing impairment. He did have surgery and can now hear and his learning and speech were improving. He had his phone because his mom had downloaded a speech app that helps him speak. Father called into the program because he wants LE to create an Amber Alert for Sebastian. He thinks he might have been taken.

I thought the gate to the patio was to prevent Sebastion from getting out. Now you are saying Sebastion was allowed to climb on the satellite dish to get out ? They might have allowed that not realizing he would get out on his own. The father thinks Sebastion was abducted ? That makes no sense because they found his cell phone down by the river near the big rocks. What ? He was taken by someone with a boat ? No, I doubt it. I think the father wanted to cover all bases with an amber alert, just in case.
