WHEAT RIDGE – The family of a Wheat Ridge woman, last seen eight weeks ago, is offering a $2,000 reward for information about her whereabouts.

Shaida Ghaemi, 44, was last seen September 9 at the American Motel, located at 10101 W. I-70 Service Road North in Wheat Ridge. She had been staying there for about a month with her boyfriend, Jon Peters. Although he has denied knowing anything about Ghaemi's whereabouts, police say Peters is considered a person of interest in her disappearance. (more at link w/pic)

The boyfriend of a missing 44-year-old woman says he does not believe she is in danger.

Shaida Ghaemi disappeared from a Wheat Ridge motel nearly two months ago. Her boyfriend, Jude Peters, is one of the last people to see and speak with her.

"She's done this before, she's left me and a couple months later she comes back," said Peters.

Peters is considered a person of interest in the case. Investigators found blood in the couple's motel room. They had stayed there for about a month.

DNA tests determined that the blood was Ghaemi's, but Wheat Ridge Police couldn't determine if the amount found was consistent with "serious injury." Peters says the blood was menstrual.

Certainly looks like a 'person of interest' to me. This was a lady who looked after her relative's children, and she's had no contact with her own children either since she went missing? More than suspicious!

The family of Shaida Ghaemi notified the Wheat Ridge Police Department that they are increasing the reward they are offering from $2,000 to $10,000 for any information that leads to the confirmed location of the 44-year-old womanwho has been missing since September 2007.

Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year have come and gone for the family and friends of Shaida Ghaemi with no contact from her and no word of her possible whereabouts.

At this point in time, detectives have exhausted all available leads they have had regarding the woman's disappearance.

Details of Disappearance

Ghaemi was last seen at the American Motel in the 10100 block of west Interstate 70 Service Road north in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on September 9, 2007. She had been living at the motel with her boyfriend, Jude Peters, for about a month and a half.

She has never been heard from again. Her family reported her missing on September 11. It's uncharacteristic of Ghaemi to go longer than a few days without contacting her two children.

After Ghaemi's disappearance, drops of her blood were discovered in the motel room where she lived. The amount of blood did not indicate serious injury, however.

Foul play is possible in Ghaemi's case, and Peters is considered a person of interest. He maintains his innocence and says he doesn't know Ghaemi's whereabouts. She left her cellular phone behind. Her case remains unsolved.

"Haunted by his mother’s disappearance in Wheat Ridge nearly two decades ago, Ash Ghaemi has turned to artificial intelligence to try to help other families find the answers he never got.

He was 22 years old when his mother, Shaida, disappeared from a room at American Motel, just off Interstate 70, without saying goodbye to her two children. After watching the investigation go cold, he developed a software that uses AI to scan thousands of pages of police reports, evidence logs and other files in minutes, a process that could take human detectives weeks or months.

By revealing patterns and revisiting overlooked details, the tool is meant to give investigators a jump-start on long-dormant cases, Ghaemi, now 40, said.''

“AI isn’t a tool to replace anybody. There needs to be humans involved,” Ghaemi said. “AI is not creative, it’s not intuitive. You need human intuition.”
