But...but...but...he saw them on the monitor. He was quite adamant about that. So he fell asleep after looking at the monitor? Or did he dream about gazing at them before he dreamed SW came in and strangled them before he dreamed he went in and killed SW before he dreamed he piled all their bodies up for his dream job at the dreamy oilfields?

Oh good grief! He wasn’t sleepwalking when he drove to the tanks!

It’s really mind boggling the folks who immediately go to guilty without seeing the facts of the case.

It’s called critical thinking.

Why not? So someone could murder people in their sleepwalking state, but then can't drive? What woke him up? The sound of the dryer buzzing when it finished drying his favorite shirt?

I don’t think they teach that anymore. I’ve also found common sense is no longer common. ;)

@Cruzin The “why not” tells me you at least believe it’s possible that he was sleepwalking. Thank you.

Guys, honestly, to go a slightly different direction here....I can’t get past the whole little girls thing. I mean, those were two amazingly adorable little baby girls. And yeah, as mentioned, there are videos that show him happily playing with those babies.

What the HECK happened? I can’t even remotely wrap my brain around it. I mean, if you think back about family murders, it’s almost more often the mom that kills the babies—post partum depression or drugs or mental illness or a combination of the above. But a dad? Who doesn’t seem to have any diagnosed mental illness? Not on drugs, other than a thrive patch...? How does this even happen???? I guess he is going to argue that SW did them in, and although I have no numbers, it would seem that statistically it would be more likely for the mom to have done the girls in than the dad... but if so, and as discussed, dad wouldn’t have tossed them into an oil vat. He would have called the cops, sobbing. I can’t even figure out a motive that would fit this case. I mean, the girls were gone for six weeks and then BOOM, he had to babysit for a weekend. I’m sure it wasn’t fun for him. On the other hand, you’d have thought he would have missed them and been okay with babysitting. But still, either way.....I can’t even figure it out. Crazy, crazy stuff. It stinks that he is gonna argue the SW thing, because I wanna find out what was going through his mind when he decided it was okay to kill his babies.

If a juror believes his story he could walk.

<modsnip: rude and personalizing> Jurors are vetted, they're not going to put someone completely insane on the jury panel and you know it.

His story as it stands now equals jail time. If he changes his story yet again, it's the nail in his own coffin. He may as well throw away the key himself.

The "Why Not?" is a question to you as to why you are able to see him killing multiple people while in a sleepwalking stage but somehow he gets rendered useless at driving a vehicle. I personally find driving a vehicle easier than killing four people...but...should I say this, Your mileage may vary.

No. Its not extra info. He stated it in his interviews:
bbm
Chris Watts: I called her three times, texted about three times, just to say, you know, what’s going on, like, I did… I after… after I called her and texted her once, like, right maybe she was just busy, like, she’d just got back, you know, like, everybody probably calling her from her trip, she just got back from Arizona and… I figured that she is just busy but when her friend showed up that (inaudible) I registered, like, right, this isn’t right.

Chris Watts: Yes… uh… I’d text her a few times, called her but I didn’t get a response, that was a little odd and then her friend Nicole showed up about that afternoon, I see her on the doorbell camera and I was like: Hey, what’s going on? I can’t get ahold of Shannan and that’s when I was, just like, something’s not right. She’s not answering the door and she said the car was here, it’s like I gotta go home and got here, got inside and no… nobody was here, not… nothing.

Chris Watts: She was here at the front door and… that’s when I knew: Okay, like, if she’s not answering anybody else either, this’s… this isn’t like her. I mean, she works at direct sales business and that’s her, that’s what she does and for her not to respond to any of her people that, I mean, she hasn’t answered to me, that’s fine, I’m like she is busy, she has staff going on, but not to respond to her people, that was… that was not like her.

Well, I saw the "like" word 12 times in his little discussion -- but I didn't count the "Like" button on your original post that I did activate.
How do you like that??
 I just couldn't help it.... like really I couldn't!

I'm surprised nobody has suggested that the dog did it.

Or aliens.

Stay on topic please folks. We all know what cheating is. Period. No need to have post after post discussing cheating or monogamy in general, how good your well is or isn't, etc.

In those cases the mom usually kills her self she isn't then strangled by the dad.

I don't know that it indicates anything, but she seems nervous about whatever is going on in the direction that she keeps looking toward. IMO
In that video, I thought SW seemed nervous throughout most of the video. Soon after looking over at CW playing on the floor with the children, SW gets up from where she was sitting in the house and goes outside on the back deck to sit where she continued to talk and record herself on video. It seemed to me like she was trying to fill in 30 minutes of how calm and wonderful her life was.

Lots of men cheat on their wives. It is hardly even a blip on the ethics radar any longer. But cheating on a wife is not the same as killing children and a pregnant wife.

Not arguing with you, but it’s a said commentary that there’s a perception that cheating isn’t a biggie.

Cheating on a pregnant spouse? Yea, that is depraved. People fail to understand the risks to the fetus and mother, like deadly stds.

Just to clarify, I still don’t think SW did it. I’m just saying that for the life of me, I can’t figure out what short-circuited in his brain to have him suddenly go totally psycho like this. And I’m frustrated with the SW defense, because that means we aren’t going to find out what would have led him to kill his babies.

This is why motive is not an element of any crime. We don't have to know why CW did it, or understand what he was thinking, we just have to look at the evidence and draw the conclusion that he did do it, then find him guilty.
