Oh for Heaven's SAKE.

Sigh.

I'm taking a deeeeeeeep breath. Drinking some milk. And going to bed.

Don't forget about the ignore feature. It is one of the best things around here in order to keep ones blood pressure in check.

Good night, all. I'll be dreaming about justice for Shanann, CeCe, Bella and Nico.
Agree. The Ignore feature is a blessing if we want to continue to read here without stress inducing hypertension.

Can’t link because it’s on SM. But in Shanann’s own words, regarding the nuts at her MIL’s house:

“... I arrived and on the floor shelf of her center island was a bag of pistachios (big bad one). I removed...”

Before I saw this, based on the rumors I’d read on FB, it seemed that the MIL had left an open dish of nuts on a table where the kids could get them. Shanann’s post paints a slightly different picture. Even though the MIL didn’t comply with Shanann’s request to remove all nuts from her home (she should have moved them out of reach entirely, like in a plastic bin in the garage or something!), it doesn’t sound as malicious as FB commenters made it sound.

My point is that things get distorted in the telling.

But, she goes on to tell about how her MIL let her older daughter eat an ice cream cone, with ice cream that contained tree nuts, in front of her younger daughter, who had none. The MIL then says something like "well, she needs to learn that she can't have everything she wants". Classic narcissistic parenting on the part of g'ma, trying to pit the girls against each other and ignoring mom's wishes. All nuts should have been put far away, even residue can transfer (from surfaces, hands, dish towels, door knobs, toys) and cause a reaction.

I'll tell you one thing, I PRAY we never have a VI on this case. My heart would break if I thought SW's dad or brother or other family/friends were reading this. Talk about victim blaming at it's worst.
If any do stumble across this they'll be horrified.
There needs to be a rule in place for not discussing a defense if there's no evidence or LE support of said defense. Something, anything to protect the victim.

About the only reasonable scenario I could think of is saying SW ran off with the kids, then someone else killed them and put them where they were found to frame him. Anything else is just too far-fetched to even consider IMO.
That's a very remote possibility but falls apart, imo, when you see the oil tanks (plus he admitted he put the girls there, so there's that). I can't see anyone being able to come up with the idea of the tanks, let alone carry out the task of putting two bodies into those huge tanks - or to even have access to the tanks.

Yes he definitely could have come up with something better than first ( play date) and second this jump the shark defense.

I still don't u'stand why he didn't expect Nicole U Atkinson or another Thriver to call round the house, seeing as he, along with ever other person acknowledged how constantly in touch she was w " her people."

Maybe he did think there was a risk of a door-knocking friend ( the door on latch) but as said yesterday he completely forgot about the car with it's baby seats gaffe.

Most people who kill in self defense or in defense of another call 911 as soon as possible. They don’t hide the body of the intruder and anyone else who was killed in the house.

And lie about it for days while grinning like a drunken baboon.

Which is probably the scenario he wanted to set up, but ran out of time. And then the dang friend of SW's had to go stick her nose into it. He sought publicity to lay down his favored scenario, but kept saying things like "if they are safe". Duh.

Wow - $140,000 in a month? That sounds like a lot, but I guess that would be about $300 of product to 15 different people every day, which doesn't sound outlandish - but you would still need 15 different people every day to get those sales. Are you sure that's not her whole team's sales? That would be more accurate. If she had the potential to make $15,000 a month in commission, why would CW derail the gravy train? I thought it was financial stress, but now its stranger to me.

My understanding is that was her team.

Snipped.

Thinking aloud here....I wonder if he did have plans for people checking in, but he wasn't able to finish the set-up for her absence because of the delayed flight??? IDK. It is weird to think nobody would notice she wasn't responding when she was in constant contact with people.

I have had a long battle of depression for years , been in some VERY dark places...I always hid it, it's a sign of weakness I thought...People see you look fine on the outside. I have always called it "cancer of the soul" because for me, this is what it feels like.

I have been receiving treatment now with medication and CBT with a therapist for 2 years now..Feel best I have in a long while, still have bad days now and then...my point is.....never, ever once have I thought about planning my children's death.

I definitely thought of planning my own demise in those dark times, but the thought of leaving my kids motherless always turned me back from the brink.

I really do not believe SW's beautiful angels died by her hands.

Of course it is absolutely possible for a depressed, vengeful or mentally ill mother to murder her children. It happens every month in the US it seems.

And at the onset of this case I was totally willing to entertain the notion that perhaps SW suffered a mental break, took the kids somewhere and killed them and herself. I discussed that horrid possibility.

But then came everything else. The fact that the only way they could've left the home is in CW's truck at 5 in the morning. His bizarre demeanor in interviews the next day. The press conference prior to the arrest.

But what truly proves it is actually his very allegation that she killed the kids, including his nonsensical account of how that went down, coupled with his actions afterward and a look back at his demeanor in those interviews the very next day.

His demeanor was quite odd for someone who thought his wife and kids were missing. But it is downright evil for someone who knows his babies are dead and that their corpses are floating in oil vats.

NONE of this matches cases where moms kill their kids and leave dads as survivors. ALL of it matches male family annihilators who are trying to get away with murder.

When analyzing these cases, besides good old fashioned common sense and logic, an analysis of human behavior and a look at patterns in past murder cases, allows us to easily connect the dots.

This is Scott Peterson. Not Julie Schenecker. It's Christian Longo. Not Christy Sheats.

The case doesn't remotely match any of the female family annihilator cases and CW's narrative is insanely preposterous. So ridiculous, IMO, that even a high school debate team who had to argue his side would be labeled you know what stirrers. Lol.

He just happened to forget his wife was pregnant? Not buying it.
He was getting rid of all responsibility to his family. He knew exactly what he was doing. I actually suspect her pregnancy was the biggest factor.

I have a theory about one of the triggers of CW's homicidal rage. (A contributing factor.) MOO.

SW appears to have been a very high-energy person. Go, go, go! Lists! Organization. Motivation.

CW was described as "shy Chris." I bet he was lower energy.

As a low energy person myself, I find it completely exhausting to be around high energy people. And it is frustrating, because maybe you just want to do a whole lot of nothing (like hanging out on websleuths for hours at a time, for instance). But the high-energy wants to get stuff done---like NOW! Not tomorrow, not in a few minutes, drop everything you are doing and help me with this _____. Or give the kids a bath. (And it's like, "ugh, I just sat down and I'm writing this comment, can't you just leave me alone for ... ten minutes?? (sigh) Yes, this is a message board. It's people talking about crimes.)

So CW was alone at home for five weeks. His wife would text him and give him lists to make sure he stayed on top of things, but he could ignore her texts pretty easily when she is 1500 miles away.

And he got used to it. And he liked it.

And then she came back.

And she started in, "why didn't you do this? and why didn't you do that? Why didn't you eat all the meals I made for you? I can see dust on top of the refrigerator? Did you take the dog to the vet like I asked Why is there beer in the fridge??" And she wanted him to do the stuff again. And he didn't want to do the stuff right then. And geez, can we give it a rest just for a FEW MINUTES?!?!?!???

So three days later she goes on another business trip. But she makes sure to leave him a very detailed list of the things she wanted him to do. And grrrrrr....

And pretty soon it's. . . . . "HERE'S JOHNNY!!!"
Oh man. I hear ya. I have been in this relationship. Looking back I'm amazed my husband didn't murder me. Healthiest thing both of us when we split.

I cannot shake the feeling that there was sexual abuse involved here also. A man who is that emotionally detached from his children in my opinion is capable of that. Oh God, I hope that wasn't the case.
There is no reason to assume sex abuse.

I was the one who origunally (jokingly) brought up sleepwalking a board back and said I was shocked defense wasn't trying IT on for size and now here it is. That's it for my hypothetical theories. I'm not going to be a part of offering the defense or family any ideas.

it's interesting cause we had this same conversation last year. ( Different case, dropped his partner* into home's septic tank , totally pre-planned for months.)

Anyway we asked that question of ourselves, as a lot of posters had septic tanks/private drainage - did it ever cross your mind, a Septic T having body disposal potential? Nobody had.

OK it seems like a crazy question but I believe he did not suddenly come up with that idea at 4/5am- it just doesn't work for me, it's not even on thr property.
And in a blind panic scenario ( his version) it's even less credible that it suddenly pops into ur head as a suitable place for a body & certainly not for a loved one.....unless you've pre-planned this for some time.

* PS The perp in that case ( Helen Bailey UK author) had hidden his resentment and avarice for years. Plus as we sleuthers speculated at the time, he's now under investigation for the murder of Wife 1. No DV history either. 2 kids by Wife 1.

His "running out of time" is key phrase for his whole bungled mass murder. Especially if he murdered the 2 little girls beforehand and wanted it to look like she did it. Oops, they are cold and stiff by the time she gets home, can't call the cops and blame her anymore. Just dump them all and go for blaming Shan'ann.
