I definitely think it is a regional malapropism, his North Carolina coming out. I spent a fair amount of time in the South, and I didn't even notice it and I knew exactly what he meant.

See the following link, page 342-- Redirect Notice

By the way, I'm not that familiar with the North Carolina accent, but I know that when those of us from the South are trying to charm someone, we will often slip into a drawl. I'd have to go back and listen to CW's interview to see if I can hear it.

Yes another NC local has said that so I'll go with that.

Because he killed her on top of the bed IMO. It was easier to just wrap her in the fitted sheet & move her that way. Why put the flat sheet & pillowcases in the trash? Was there evidence on them? Perhaps.

I agree that CW wrapped SW in the fitted sheet and transported her in it to his truck. Likely that CW stuffed the top sheet and pillow cases into the kitchen trash intending to dispose of them later. That way, when LE searched the house, they would not discover a set of bed sheets missing its fitted bottom. Hinky, LE would think, and rightfully so.

But - oh dear - CW didn't get the chance to ditch the partial set of sheets because loyal friend NA zoomed in and saved the day.

Not really.

The code section he's charged with says that a person commits the crime if they terminate a pregnancy unlawfully with the intent to do so.

It becomes a class 2 felony if the person dies while terminating the pregnancy.

In this case, CW terminated the pregnancy using murder of the mother as the method. The state is alleging that he killed her in order to end the pregnancy. I think that's true. He didn't want that third child.

Of course we mostly all believe he also killed her because he didn't want her anymore. But as long as at least part of the reason he killed her was to end the pregnancy, the charge fits.

So the DA is alleging: He terminated the pregnancy by killing the mother. He intended to terminate the pregnancy when he strangled her. Because she died during his attempt to terminate the pregnancy via strangulation of the pregnant mother, he can be charged with the crime.

It's a bit awkward but it works.
Good explanation. He wanted none of them and I think that that was great of them to interpret it that way so as to throw the book at him.

I reviewed the video of the tank pad where CW placed his girls in the oil tanks. The steps going up and over the berm have 5 steps up and 5 steps down. There are 27 steps from the ground to the top of the tank platform. Considering that each girl weighed 30+ pounds (think 3 bags of potatoes! sorry), that would have been strenuous and sweaty. And, digging a grave would also be strenuous and sweaty.

Wondering if an oil field operator would carry a shovel in his truck as standard equipment.

Now I wonder if he took a change of clothes?

ETA: I'm telling on myself. He's combining "indication" with "inkling" to get "inclination." I actually thought he was using "inclination" correctly, and I had to look it us to determine the correct meaning.

Eastern N.C. accent has elements of Old English due to original settlers. Area around Fayetteville and Southern Pines had many Scottish settlers.

I haven’t listened to the interviews yet. But I will tomorrow.

BBM. I think that he would. Even if for digging his truck out if it were bogged after rain in remote locations.

Wouldn't surprise me. In the Scott Peterson case, Nancy Grace was reading the tabloids. She insisted to Larry King that a truck driver had spotted Peterson's boat on the highway and recalled its name was Game Fisher. In reality, that was the model name of that particular boat, not Peterson's name for it.

ROFL!

Think, emphasis think, that it had gone, not switched to private. (So deactivated or deleted the FB)
IDK when his Instagram was deleted but his twitter was deleted much later, after the killings.

Got his instagram cache link somewhere if you haven't seen it already.
Yes, I would like to see his Instagram. Thank you.

I think he's guilty, too. However, I am not convinced it was planned ahead of time. I'm open to various scenarios at this point. With that said, if he did, for example, get into an argument with his wife and kill her, he then made a conscious choice to kill his children. That's premeditation.

One thing I read in my new issue of People magazine this evening struck me: "Text messages and search histories were not deleted."

Now, this guy might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but c'mon. If he deleted SM a week prior, he wouldn't have the sense to delete his search history or texts ahead of time if he was planning on murdering his family? This points strongly to unplanned IMO.

It's pretty dumb either way, ISTM. LE can get the texts from the cellular carrier, so if he deletes them and then the carrier discloses them, that's pretty damning. If he doesn't delete them, it depends on what the messages say. He can explain that they had emotional text message conversations, etc.

Computer search history as well?

I think so. I hope none of us are suspected of a murder. Imagine what is in the history of our Google searches. 'How long does it take to strangle someone?' Yikes!

If CW asked SW for a separation while she was pregnant it wouldn't look good on him. The separation had to be that she left him and took the kids in other peoples eyes. I'm heading more towards planned out for many reasons but this adds to it.

Yes. This. I wonder what more is going to come out about this man. It seems like it was urgent that she and the children are not around anymore.

And decided to have another baby.

Some posters have suggested that CW wanted the baby but SW was reluctant due to her health problems. I beg to differ. I think SW wanted another child, perhaps to try to salvage the marriage. I don't know why he would want a third child when he was so unhappy. And one source has suggested marital problems going back to February, IIRC.

MOO
Except in the presentation he did that was on you tube, he talks about having a baby to help the relationship. He also talked about a moral obligation to work it out for the children.

I read this as carrying my children to bed after rocking/Reading them to sleep. They were never too heavy to put to bed never. But we are talking about a child melded into you, embracing you in their sleep. I never have held a dead child. Oh God

I think that he copied that presentation from someone else. It was supposed to be his work but then he disagrees with one of his own points. On the baby point, he says 'I am not sure that I agree with that'. Why would he put it in the presentation if he authored it?

For me it's the fact they hugged immediately. It would have been different if they had just taken the fight inside, that's a more "normal" reaction IMO.
Unless they really were done with the argument. Once my husband says his peace, it's over for him.
