Some things that stood out to me:

The alleged lover told The Daily Beast on Thursday that he believes he was the first man Chris ever slept with—and that their affair was Chris’ first during his marriage to Shanann. The men would see each other before or after work, or sometimes after 10 p.m., he claimed. He added that they’d usually meet at the man’s place and never at Chris’ home. The man believes Shanann was unaware of their rendezvous, which he claimed ended in spring of this year.

When reached by The Daily Beast, the man’s brother said the story was true. “I know my brother saw a different side of ‘loving’ Chris Watts,” the sibling said, adding that Chris “gave my brother his first lip botox injection.”

Linda Biggers, a realtor who listed Shanann’s home, told The Daily Beast she believes the couple moved because Chris got a job out West. “I think she wanted to get married and move to Colorado with him,” Biggers recalled. “The house was hers; it wasn’t his…. She just had a really beautiful home, it was beautifully furnished.”

Also new, the article mentions CW’s FB page that I haven’t seen anywhere before. For those who claim he hated that every aspect of his life was exploited by SW on FB, his FB page was just like SW’s. “While Chris’ profile is deactivated, Alfonso says it was similar to Shanann’s page, which is filled with glowing updates of her husband and children, as well as promotions with Thrive, a multi-level marketing venture. “Everything he usually posted on Facebook or social media was always about his family,” Alfonso said.”

I will admit that I've found it somewhat disturbing that people keep saying there's no history of DV in CW's background when we should be saying there's been no reports to LE. We still lack societal awareness of the many types of DV victims experience that aren't physical. I've known women whose psyches have been as harmed by emotional, verbal, and financial abuse as those that have incurred battering.

While SW was obviously a capable woman striving to create a good life for her children we have no idea what went on behind closed doors. Women tend to be reluctant to report the more subtle types of abuse for a variety of reasons. Just because it wasn't reported to LE doesn't mean it wasn't happening and I'm guessing as the case unfolds we'll hear more about his control. JMO

What I find more disturbing is people claiming that there must be domestic violence even though there is absolutely no history of domestic violence. Not one single person has come forward to say that there was dv in their relationship.

I doubt at this point in time we will discover that this was a dv situation or that CW was controlling. I think that would have come out by now. IMO

I am so glad that WS is a non-victim blaming site. Thank you mods for keeping it that way.
There is no reason that I have found to point even one finger of blame at SW for her own death.
And certainly not at Celeste "Cece", Bella nor unborn "Niko".
I want justice to the fullest for them.
Even tho I couldn't vote for death ever, if it's ever on the table in this case (?) then I support what the victims' loved-ones want.

Good morning everyone!
I woke up with a new thought in my noggin today, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts. If it's already been discussed, my apologies.

I am currently wondering if the 'separation' may never have been real. It was his alibi from jump.

He tells Shanann that he wants to separate, perhaps on that last week in NC. He knows she has close relationships, and that she will likely tell people close to her about it. He plans... but in a very superficial way. He just plants that one seed. We are splitting.

His intention is to keep it simple. The seed is planted, he murders and disposes of them, he gets rid of her phone, purse, etc. after he gets home on Monday. He works up some tears and makes a frantic call to 9-1-1. My family is gone! OR - he does nothing. And waits for her people to contact him looking for her, at which time he can produce the note from Shanann saying she has left with this girls. Nothing to see here! We planned on splitting and split, she did.

Unfortunately for him, the fact that she has those close relationships is his undoing, as he never has the opportunity to get rid of the things a woman leaving her husband would of course take along, and police were alerted immediately.

Wasn't it mentioned on the thread days ago that the Colorado house was in his name? If true, how could it happen that she invested the equity from her first house to another house to be in his name?

Alore said the Wattses moved to Colorado after Chris accepted a job as a mechanic at the dealership in 2012. Shanann was hired by the company’s internet sales department and, according to online reviews, was a talented salesperson...

It’s really hard to get previous life information about CW and SW in this case because family and close friends are being so tight lipped, but I do think if there were any recorded instances of DV, and if Shanann ever told anyone, they would take what they know to the police. We just won’t hear about it until the trial.

I know someone in the “oil tank industry”, I’m curious to ask him if he thinks it’s likely they would have ever been found, and if so, when, why and how? (if not via LE’s efforts).

It is to be noted we do not know what digital record LE has on CW’s movement after the murders (my guess is that they do have something possibly). But if they didn’t...Pehaps there is image or sonar type analysis that would have eventually been implemented/utilized in searching the tanks, should LE have suspected tanks based o. Awareness space, etc. Special cameras in the oil maybe? Talk about zero visibility...Idk...how many tanks are there around there anyway??

I’d be curious to ask Tim Miller what on earth type of specific technology, potential detection methods, etc would be used to search oil tanks.

Yes, this is one case... but the body was never found, and the NCIS forensic investigators said that the body would have been corrosively degraded.

Investigators say that to cover up the murder, Lebrun explained how he dumped the body in one of the ship's huge oil tanks. Muns' body was never found.

I don't remember that being mentioned, but both their names appear on the property assessor's website.

That tidbit of information about the phone has 'unplanned' written all over it.

In cases of multiple murder, though, the "unplanned" argument can only work once. The task completed, you turn to the second victim -- and you now have a plan.
