So thanks to NU, he wasn't able to clean up before LE showed up. But was he going to clean up after LE left?

No, he still didn't clean up. He slept well Monday night. On Tuesday, he was busy interviewing.

Then on Wednesday, LE found the pillow cases and a sheet in the kitchen trash can. He was arrested that night.
This guy clearly doesn't know how to clean up or stage the scene.

Excellent point. I assumed LE found the pillow cases and sheet in the kitchen trash on Tuesday and I assumed wrong. I went back and re-read the arrest affidavit and the pillow cases and sheet were found by LE in the kitchen trash on Wednesday.

‘Everyone Liked Him’: Did Colorado Dad Chris Watts Lead a Double Life?
Someone asked earlier about them qualifying for a house purchase and their income.

According to his former employer, CW was hired to work at a Ford dealership before they moved to Colorado in 2012.
Shannan was hired by the same dealership to work in their internet department.
At the time of their house purchase, he was supposedly making $141K IIRC which would be pretty high even if he was ASE and Ford factory certified IMHO.
As someone else pointed out, SW may have not been on the original FHA application due to income levels.
Wonder why he left a $141,000 job for a $61,000 job in the oilfield.

Do you think the reason it didn’t occur to him was that the thought ,although premeditated , occurred that night?
I don't think anyone could follow his thought processes. I am completely undecided about whether it was premeditated or not, but I think that he must have thought about it before, but not actually planned it out. Just thought that if they weren't there he would pleased.

I was going to make a post asserting my present position regarding the crime, but when I started typing I realized that I just don't know.

The good news is that, unlike the Missy Bevers case so far, we will eventually know more.

Good night.

Are these the same sheets that match the sheet found at the tank site?

I find it difficult to believe a job in a car dealership would be worth more than a job in oilfields.

(I give up. My brain hurts. My final theory is he inhaled too many toxic oil fumes (not really).)

See I wonder about this as well. As I mentioned just earlier, Shanann said in her video he was quite booksmart. I’m not so sure he was not smart enough to plan better and wondering if he had he actually planned this out he might have planned it better...idk...

Could the girls have told him something? I’m wondering if something happened with the girls now.

Did Shanann complain about something when she got home?

Sigh whatever the reason there is no justification. Just trying to make sense of the nonsensical.

I think he was having an affair & they were having financial issues.
I think he got a sitter while SW was in AZ & was seen out with AP.
I think someone saw something & told SW. She knew bad times were ahead, that’s why she told NU she was really going to need a friend as they headed home.
I think she confronted CW about what she’d been told. I think he took it as his chance to admit he wanted out.
I think she told him no. (I’m not blaming her. She was newly pregnant with 2 young children and was working hard to improve their financial situation. She probably wanted time to try to make things better).
I think he seemingly retreated, as he always did, and they went to bed as both were tired & had things to do the next day.
I think he laid there & all of his anger & resentment that had built up erupted in complete madness. He killed her to exert his power, his will.
I can’t explain the babies. :(

I too have wondered if someone informed her of his cheating (and not CW).

Totally agree, but the babies were a block to his freedom too. He had just had a taste of what it means to be a single parent having to look after them, and he didn't like it.

How long will it be before we know when the prosecution asserts whether the children or Shanann were killed first?

Yes! The affidavit says they matched.

Again, I do wonder if they argued about the pregnancy, terminating.

(Going round in circles and starting to repeat myself with obviously nothing new to add.)

 Whaaat? That’s crazy!

The arrest affidavit clearly states this. I completely missed it when I read it previously.

  • #757
And he had to have done that after the police and NUA left. Probably on Monday night.
He could hardly be seen out washing it when his wife and children were missing.
You can bet money the police were watching every move he made, and it has all been recorded.

I am not sure that they can make that distinction if it were only a short space of time.
I would imagine that they could tell from stomach contents if the girls were killed much earlier.

I did, too. Will go back and have a look. Why in the world would he not clean things up??

Agree.
