May I ask why you think they only put $2,000 down on the Saratoga Trail house if SW got $16,000 from the sale of her house? They were not paying rent, as they lived with SW’s friend that she nannied for.

$16k gross profit is not the same as $16k cash! The truth is, we really do not have enough info to evaluate the down payment on their house.

I don't believe you're accounting for the fact that these prices are gross numbers. After seller's closing and sales costs, SW very well could have owed more than your perceived $16k profit. In other words, SW very likely walked away with no cash in her pocket to take to Colorado! (Also, a three year mortgage would not of touched the principal mortgage balance but by a few dollars). MOO

If she purchased it for $334,000, she probably had to pay at least $10,000 in closing cost and escrow.

Also, very little of monthly mortgage payments go toward the principal in the first few years. Almost all goes toward interest.

Then she would have to pay no less than $20,000 in closing cost to sell the house.

In regards to "unnamed sources", it is not unusual with journalists, it's a way to get otherwise unavailable information. When I studied Journalism in college and got my first newspaper job (a small daily) it was accepted that reporters would have MORE than one source before the story was run. I believe the Washington Post demanded three (3) sources/confirmations during Watergate. Alas, journalism has changed and the standards are not that high anymore.

The Washington Post will use only one source if that person is of high enough official standing and their identity needs to be protected for their own safety. That's the basic foundation of the First Amendment and Freedom of the Press.

But there is a huge difference between using a source such as Deepthroat for important information the public need's to know and AB and People paying unnamed sources for salacious rumors about a man who has a Right to a fair trial and impartial jury. JMO

I don't think it came from the sale of her NC house, because she clearly lost money on paper. Who knows though if they had savings, or their parents gave them the money for the down payment on the CO house?

As the house was under construction, more than likely CW/they purchased directly from the builder, and that's always ripe for a paper shuffle and/or "incentives" that will meet the criteria of an affiliated lender (and usually an expensive lesson later learned by the buyer). I believe it proved to be true as Bk followed shortly thereafter. MOO

News media do not PAY their unnamed sources and they don't use an unnamed source to spread salacious gossip about a man awaiting trial. I'm not sure why that is so difficult to understand.

We’ve seen several expert analyses of CW’s initial news interviews. Has anyone seen a similar analysis of some of the FB videos? I’m particularly interested in what they might pick up in the “Oops, We Did it Again!” clip.

It’s currently my understanding that the pregnancy was (at least allegedly) the idea of CW, and that SW “agreed to” it.

Earlier, someone commented about CW’s seemingly recent hypersexuality. If there were multiple AP’s in a fairly short timeframe, could CW’s apparent desire for a third child perhaps have been a front to disguise his desire for more sex? Could “pretending” to want a third child have been a way to convince SW to “willingly participate” on a more regular & frequent basis?

Purely speculation, but supposing he was “taking steroids” to help develop his physique (apologies in advance if we’ve ruled this out), could this potentially have fueled any hyper-sexual tendencies?

Continuing on that premise (which again is speculative), if given a scenario in which CW was taking steroids, mightn’t he also have assumed his fertility would be negatively impacted?

Since it was already difficult for SW to conceive as a result of her lupus diagnosis, perhaps he assumed that the combination of him taking steroids (which I understand to reduce sperm production) + her lupus would allow him to “safely” proceed in this manner without actually having to “risk” another pregnancy.

When I see the “Oops, We Did it Again!” video, I get the sense he is perhaps more dumbfounded than pleased. He is slow to respond, and not genuinely jubilant. Although he says, “That’s awesome,” his words ring hollow to me. It seems like his mind is racing.

The last sentence, where he expresses something to the effect of “I guess that just shows if you want it, it happens” also strikes me as a strange sentiment, and his delivery is choppy. Almost like he’s stifling what he might really like to say.

Aside from the fact that the sentence itself is odd (to me, anyway), why is he saying “you” instead of “we”?

It isn’t: “WE’re expecting, hooray!!!”

It’s more like:

“I guess when YOU want it, it happens.” (Like a mistake or an accident “happens”?)

When I first heard it — reading between the lines — it struck me as if he was lamenting the belief that the universe always seems to line up in SW’s favor, rather than his.

Then, he threw in a big hug and smooch at the end for good measure. I figure maybe this was like the hug someone witnessed between them, which was in the driveway, in the midst of a fight. In other words, a big act for the audience’s benefit.

FWIW, I have no idea if this line of thinking has merit. It’s basically just a “what if” idea that occurred to me as I was trying to piece the puzzle together in my brain.

He's frozen in place for a moment (probably as he's reading her shirt and he realizes what's going on). I thought he appeared more displeased than excited; possibly almost angry? Definitely slow to respond and not overly happy about it. Then as he approaches....sees that she is recording? Tries to act shocked and happy but it's pretty unconvincing.

You are assuming that every potential juror is as vested in this case as we are. They’re not. My husband, for one, isn’t very interested, he doesn’t read anything about it, and he half listens when I try to talk about it. I live 5 States away, so I won’t be called in to be a juror. If you live in the vicinity and would like to be a juror, maybe you should stop reading.

When the story first broke pre even CW doing the news interview, I asked my husband to look at the this video and I told him nothing. After he watched it I asked do think dad is happy about the pregnancy. His response was 'No not even a little, think he's really actually upset'. Then husband asked who are they, he thought someone I knew. I explained briefly, he already thinks I'm crazy for following these things lol.

Comparing the couple CW and SW, I'd say it was unlikely SW had a life policy due to both a pre-existing medical condition and the cost. It would be more likely that CW was insured through his Employer by a payroll deduction. MOO

I’m not so sure. I think it’s possible that Shanann gave him an earful that pretty much tore the image he had of himself to shreds. Life as he knew it was about to end, and he was going to be left with a shattered reputation nd pretty much nothing else. I can not understand how he could strangle those children without being in a crazed emotional state. I can’t think of anything else that would take him there. He was fighting for his life in his mind. But I can’t fully commit to that scenario because I think if that happened there would be screaming and crying, and the neighbors heard nothing. I need more information.

I did some googling of cases in the last few years of Mothers who killed their daughters and sons. I always thought this was more of a Father thing. Wow I forgot about many of these cases. I never realized so many women killed their own children they loved and some to get back at the husband.

Poor Kids why are they always the victims of bad marriages. Just sickening. I hope CW rots in prison.

I agree with you about "salacious rumors", etc.

At the time of Watergate both the Washington Post and the NY Times demanded reporters have three sources/confirmations. In other words; you got one person to say it is so and then two other sources to confirm. Sources were also not paid! That is ludicrous, it brings into question the source's motives. That is also what they taught when I studied journalism. I'm sure it's changed a great deal. I haven't done that kind of writing in a long time. Of course a lot of things have changed in journalism, few for the good. Also, at the beginning Deep Throat refused to be a source and would only confirm!
