I’m sorry this is off-topic but I have a question about finding “today’s arrests” . It’s a local murder case ( not on Websleuths) and a “person of interest” has been arrested on unrelated charges. I don’t know the person’s name, only that they were arrested yesterday or today.

Can anyone help please?

When the story first broke pre even CW doing the news interview, I asked my husband to look at the this video and I told him nothing. After he watched it I asked do think dad is happy about the pregnancy. His response was 'No not even a little, think he's really actually upset'. Then husband asked who are they, he thought someone I knew. I explained briefly, he already thinks I'm crazy for following these things lol.

Mr Mouse thought I was silly to follow the Jodi Arias trial here on WS and he thinks I'm silly to follow the CW trial because he says its unproductive! bbm -- Agree. You're absolutely correct. I do think, however, the prices may vary, according to how serious a diagnosis is desired.
We've seen it at trials before. So many of the professionals were a bit kooky -- seriously, I think when the suspect is truly sick, the professional is believable and professional. Otherwise, not so much.

I don't believe you're accounting for the fact that these prices are gross numbers. After seller's closing and sales costs, SW very well could have owed more than your perceived $16k profit. In other words, SW very likely walked away with no cash in her pocket to take to Colorado! (Also, a three year mortgage would not of touched the principal mortgage balance but by a few dollars). MOO

Agreed. And this may be why they gave away many of the furnishings in the house---they couldn't afford to move them from NC to Colorado, and if they were living with another couple, they would not have anywhere to put them.

One more observation: I'll bet that whilst CW is on suicide watch and in his cell all alone he doesn't realize that these are the 'golden' days. Once he gets out of protective custody and into mainstream prison he's in for a rather nasty reaming.

IIRC, the home (Saratoga) was purchased for $400,000 and the mortgage was $392,000.

I'm way out of touch on paying mortgages, but how can someone get a 400,000$ house for only 8k down? Is that some sort of government deal? ? One of my nephews got into a decent but less expensive house with nothing down, but he is a veteran.

Good question. When we bought our house in 2005 we put down a 25% deposit and still had to undergo rigorous bank scrutiny.

What do we know as fact?

We know CW killed SW - CW admitted it!

We know CW never called LE and instead hid the bodies - CW admitted this and led LE to the bodies.

The way the bodies were hidden is contrary to what a loving father would do! Many stories have been offered here, of loving parents in grief. None comes close, in any way, to CW's actions. I think it can be accepted as fact that CWs actions with the bodies was unconscionable and far beyond the norm.

CW was involved in at least one affair - CW has admitted it!

CW attempted to create the appearance SW and the girls were alive, after he knew they were dead - he made calls and texts to her phone.

CW attended a press conference and lied, mislwhereind tried to create a false scenario wherein his family has disappeared - proven by video and his later admissions.

CW is a liar - proven by his multiple admission of lies including killing SW, the affair, etc.

CW's explanation for killing SW is illogical, improbable, and unsupported by fact - his explanation is tantamount to killing a bank guard to draw attention to a robbery! No reasonable person would accept such an explanation.

I'm sure there is more and I'll try to add to the list.

$16k gross profit is not the same as $16k cash! The truth is, we really do not have enough info to evaluate the down payment on their house.

If and when the house goes up for sale is when we could deduce from other facts on sites like zillow how much the down-payment was. I hope to not be reading about this case anymore by that point...but I guess if one really wants to know and are patient.
