Yes. I believe this was SW’s debt she brought into the marriage.
$740 to a chiropractor, $2,612 to Good Sam Medical Center, $1,301 to Kaiser Permanante.
Other debts claimed by the couple in July 2015 included $1,547 to Macy’s, $3,038 to Nordstrom, and $18,968 to Sharonview Federal Credit Union.
I’m also going to kind of jump off this post here while I’m looking at the filing & clarify something unrelated to medical bills: the $140,000 salary in 2013 was their COMBINED salary. CW did not earn that alone as a mechanic. So Anadarko might have been more of a lateral move for him with better benefits.

It's almost surprising to me that they would need to file for BK with combined income of $140,000. That's a lot of income, even with a $3,000/mo mortgage. I would have thought they could have restructured some of the debt without having to file BK and it would have been better for their credit.

Sounds bogus to me, that he took her out on dates. Both of these people who have come forward, I am keeping an open mind, but so far don't believe either of them.

Yes, many threads ago, we posited that any tabloid/rag journalist or TV researcher would have trawled all the national & local dating sites for a CWalike. It's routine. ( We had an expectation he might be registered at various ones, but here we are 5 Sept ...)

Unless of course someone who is reading the source can contradict and say that there are shots/visuals offering some form of authentication to this new story.

Shanann Watts lookalike claims she had ‘animalistic’ affair with accused family-killer Chris Watts — who allegedly choked her during sex: REPORT
It had occurred to me that the choking of SW by CW may have been during sex, but I hadn't mentioned it. Wouldn't that be sick if he was aroused by that sort of thing!
If the allegations from latest unconfirmed AP are true, it wouldn't be the first time killer had this fantasy. Jo Yeates was killed by her neighbor who strangled her (no SA), and later proven at trial that he frequented prostitutes to simulate strangulation. (This fetish/fantasy was unknown to his significant other). Given the circumstances known to us, I seriously doubt SW murder the result of sex act.

Found it hard to believe Bill. Hence asking about typical US salaries for their jobs.

Atty on AB says there will be no problem getting an unbiased jury because the jury pool isn't just from Fredricksburg--it's from Weld County which is a huge county.

  • #786
Per atty on AB, they have 63 days from the arraignment to decide on the DP, so it will be after that before we find out.

I thought it was 63 days from the hearing he had
Thanks for clarifying!

And what if his father found out?
The fear could have been from any number of people finding out, including his family, friends, and of course, his wife. For a guy who appears to be very concerned about his image, this might be viewed as potentially devastating in his eyes.

The affairs are bad. Potentially murdering his family because of them, is unforgivable.

Even if there were no homophobes in his circle it would be shocking to all because he played the role of the doting daddy so well.

They zoomed in on them and showed what they said are cameras, but I wasn't paying close attention so I'll need to go back and watch later.

Thank you G.

I think the theater massacre guy was televised, so hopefully this one will be
Yes, James Holmes trial was streamed, although only one camera was allowed at a distance IIRC (no close-ups), but you could definitely follow it.

Chris Watts' Alleged Lover 'Is Cooperating' with Triple Murder Investigation: Source

A source close to the case confirmed to HLN’s Crime & Justice with Ashleigh Banfield on Tuesday that the co-worker — a woman — has met with investigators at least once and “answered all their questions.”

PEOPLE confirmed that report with separate source.

“She is cooperating,” the second source says, adding that the co-worker is not suspected of any criminal wrongdoing.

"Automotive mechanics are the most common type of mechanic. They find employment in garages, auto parts shops and car dealerships. As of 2013, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that automotive mechanics earned an average of $18.97 per hour and $39,450 per year."

How Much Does a Mechanic Make?

The mechanics I've known have made in the $20/hr range. Didn't matter if private garage or car dealership.
Thanks

£42k pa average UK. /$54K US.- I'd looked it up before but wasn't sure if your dealerships may be different.
so $50-60k being generous

I have watched many of the videos & have my own observations, but had wondered what our resident forensic psychologist @MindHunter13 had to say. I don’t think he’s replied. If I missed it, please let me know.

I know SW claimed on SM that CW pushed for baby #3, but I disagree. Aside from the obvious reason—he killed them all—they were having financial issues and he was involved in at least 1 confirmed ongoing affair (as well as perhaps more Tinder-type sexual exploits).

I also disagree that SW had trouble getting pregnant. Pregnancy #1 was 4 months after their marriage, baby #2 came a year later. She posted on FB that they were going to try for a baby on May 8th & was pregnant with #3 that day or close to it.

According to WebMD, Lupus doesn’t always make getting pregnant difficult, but maintaining the pregnancy is the issue. There is extra stress on the kidneys during pregnancy, elevated risks of hypertension and preterm birth. 1/5 of Lupus pregnancies end in miscarriage. Perhaps our new OB/GYN can provide some input here as well.

As for the pregnancy “reveal” video, I agree that what we see there is a man who feels railroaded & angry. But, he has performed for the camera enough to know how he’s supposed to react for SW’s video.
He plays along until he slips in his final comment through clenched teeth. He basically implies that she finds away to get her way, no matter what. I’d venture to guess he didn’t even know they were “trying.” JMO

Why put him on video when surprising him with this news? Why then tell everyone it was “all him?” Think about it.

I’ll bet AP freaked when she found out.
JMO

I don't know exactly how to express this...but I feel like this whole summer for the family, trouble was roiling and swirling and building, and this was just the terrible climax.

Edited because my auto correct is lame .

BBM - I agree. I do not believe she had difficulty conceiving based on the timing of the 3 pregnancies. I guess I will need to get on here as a confirmed professional if I wish to comment further on that.

If there are cameras on the oil tanks its going to help the prosecution.

This is something I've wondered from the beginning. LE was flying a drone over the oil tank area prior to CW confession. How did they know? Because he had mentioned that he went work that day and stopped to check on a site (in affidavit)? Or did Andarko employees see CW on camera doing his horrible deeds the day of the televised interview?

Was SW filming the pregnancy announcement live?

C.W. seemed so shocked and as it hit him what the shirt meant, he seemed furious to me! The only reason I could see that he didn’t tell her to turn the camera off, was that it was live. He was not a happy man just learning he was going to be a father - again. IMO.

No, it wasn't a livestream.

So almost $70,000 unsecured debt , student loans , credit cards and medical bills

Still, if their income really was $140,000/yr. combined, that sounds like it ought to be doable to me. (This is not a legal opinion.) I guess it depends on the type of debt and the nature of the demands by creditors. As Dave Ramsey says, you eat 'beans and rice' and 'rice and beans' until you get it paid down.

Maybe @MerryB can interpret the bankruptcy tea leaves for us.

I agree. I think that a combination of factors may have led to this horrific crime. We know there were financial difficulties, another baby on the way, and that he was possibly having multiple affairs.

All of these things taken together, may have played in to his decision to end the lives of his wife and children.

I think there was a slow build up to this.

They were earning $140,000 in 2013. They filed in 2015. At the time of filing I think it was around $90,000.

Okay, well it makes more sense if their incomes went down.

Also, $140,000 per year doesn't sound right to me. They were both working at the stealership.....er.....dealership: he as a mechanic and she selling cars on the weekends while she was a nanny during the week?? Those jobs don't seem like they would pay $140,000 combined. What am I missing?
