Please don't jump down my throat y'all. Just asking- does anyone know the specifics of this- do we know for sure CW didn't try to revive them? I know he put his girls in oil, killed SW, Nico, etc. And it's utterly inconceivable. I'm only asking about the facts of whether we know he didn't try to revive them.

Remember Michael Moore (from my earlier post). If we are able to/interested in discussing the accused's claims, what will his defense be? What might have happened in his scenario? I remember wondering way way back in the threads how the defense would possibly spin his confession/denial/and actions in the immediate days after.
This is how I view the case:
I can point out dozens of examples where a husband has massacred his family and attempted to cover it up, but I can’t find a single one where that husband has done anything remotely as incriminating as C.W. did here, assuming his scenario is true.

Saying that something has never occurred, of course doesn’t mean that it can’t/didn’t. But it gives some perspective.

Many speculate that the children were deceased upon Shanann's arrival. Considering the fact that CW was not privy to her flight delay until much closer to the time she was to leave, wouldn't he have had more time to carry out an efficient plan of disposal? By this logic, he would have killed the girls, waited for her, and then did a rush job of getting ready for work, putting their bodies in the truck, disposing of their bodies, and then reporting to work. If he had so much extra time since her flight was delayed, why wouldn't he have already prepared the bodies and set the scene to play to his advantage? Perhaps, she arrived home, something started a conversation that quickly escalated, and then he killed her and then the kids.. Or it happened as he said and she killed them, then he killed her. Either way, it just seems off that they would have been dead for so long before her and he still couldn't set the scene right? The way he left everything goes more with the timeframe of 1:48 AM - 5:27 AM, not much time for three murders, clean up, and to report to work timely. Also, based on where her belongings were, it seems that she walked in, took off her shoes, set her suitcase by the stairs, walked to the kitchen and set her purse on the kitchen island, and walked upstairs with her phone (hence it being found in couch upstairs).. At that point.. Whatever happened, happened. Sometimes, things go terribly wrong. Doesn't mean a person was that way always. From the videos, one is not able to say either of them would be capable of this.

But would it not be sexist to assume CW was the one abused. I believe that . She shows no sign of any one abused . She calls herself the dominate one , she insults him , no one being abused would do that. (I have been physically abused and there would be hell to pay if I said snide comments about him. And if he was the victim then she would murder kids

Mom who killed kids hours after husband filed for divorce is sentenced to 120 years

This isn't a study of data of other cases, it is one case. This case doesn't follow the Watt's case at all.

What CW told LE is in the Warrantless Arrest Affidavit, and that is that he told SW he wanted a separation. He didn't include a statement that he also told SW he wanted to take the kids. And why would he want to? He was actively involved in an affair at the time of the murders.

In the Indiana case, this woman said she was told by her husband he wanted a divorce AND that he wanted to take the kids. He told her this hours before she killed her kids. She also stabbed herself.

With no other details provided on this case, we don't know if the husband was actively involved in an active affair and the husband didn't kill the wife, either.

I suspect the husband had reason to be worried about the kids if left alone with her and she may have had reason to believe the court would grant him custody. I don't think SW would have any concerns that CW could possibly end up with custody of the kids.

Here is where I am at, at this point.
CW could have been the most perfect loving husband and father up until the day he killed SW, Nico and disposed of his daughters.
I don't care, I don't care if SW treated him badly, I don't care if she belittled him, and I don't care if she was controlling and bossy. He could have left her. Leave her high and dry. ZERO excuses for what he did and zero justification for his actions. Including the actions during his TV interview. He was relieved IMO.

Good natured would be a mutual laughing not making someone feel the need to buy new clothes. It seems very much she felt superior IMO and goes on line with “ he has no game “ comment SW made.
There was nothing in the post to indicate if anyone was laughing, if it was good natured, etc. Just that Shan'nan told the story to everyone. If he was reacting in a bad way, she probably wouldn't have continued telling the story. We don't know what the first date was, if he was coming from work, etc. There is only half a story in that post. IMO

Totally agree with you here.

Also was asking b/c it's been speculated/wondered if CW had perhaps accidentally killed one of the girls at first and things then spiraled downward. In which case that could be another scenario where maybe he did try to revive one of them, etc.

God! I am sorry, Davia18.
Affairs come from many reasons, insecurities, or maybe people just don't love each other. However, beating someonme up is meanness and control.
My close relative had tons of affairs because he felt he was tricked into his first marriage. But it did not drive him to kill his family - in fact, he provided for all of them, and when kids grew up, he married a woman 27 years younger than himself, and became a great provider for his new family. Everything was civilized, and mature. And never in life would he think of beating up his (now ex) wife or kids. Kids love him.
Oh so your relative was normal then LOL

There's more then one story about the MIL & nuts.
What’s the other story? Would love to hear the other side. Perhaps Trinket78 had insight.

There are two sides to every story, and then there are the facts. It’s easy to speculate, but until facts are proven, it’s wise to hear both sides. Obviously 4 people are dead, along with some very shocking details. Which leads us all to speculate on how/why that happened. Until evidence/facts are provided, I will take everything with a grain of salt.

It’s possible. I still think that Shanann was the primary target and initial victim here, but the scenario you put forth is plausible, and not incompatible with the information we have right now.

I've not heard anyone excusing her murder. There are such things as mitigating circumstances and nuances and the gray areas of life, however. They are part of a bigger picture. We're trying to see the entire picture here.

TONIGHT SEPTEMBER 12TH LIVE WEBSLEUTHS RADIO AT 9 PM EASTERN 6 PM PACIFiC

CALL IN AT (713) 955- 0606

August 13, Shannon Watts34, disappeared with her 3- and 4-year-old daughters, Bella and Celeste, from their home in Frederick, Colorado.

Her husband Chris told the news he had an "emotional" talk with Shannon before he disappeared.

Chris Watts told 9 news in Denver the situation has been traumatizing. “I’m just hoping right now that she’s somewhere safe…” he told the news station. “Like, this house is not the same. Last night was traumatic. Last night was – I can’t really stay in this house again with nobody here.”

Later Watts confessed to killing his wife but not to killing his kids. He blames his wife Shannan for killing his two daughters claiming he became so enraged that he killed his wife. Later Shanann was found buried in an oilfield where Chris worked. Bella and Celeste were found in close proximity to their mother's body.

Is Chris Watts telling the truth? Did Shanann really kill their two daughters and when Chris found out he went into a blind rage and killed Shanann? Or did Chris Watts kill his wife and kids? If so WHY?

Join us tonight at 9 PM Eastern as we welcome Sheryl McCollum from the Cold Case Investigative Research Institute, Levi Page from the podcast Crime and Scandal, and Websleuths member and verified attorney gitana1

I'm glad your here Trinket78 and we are all going to respect your insight but I do want to add WE DON'T KNOW CW, we have never meet him so I hope you understand our distaste towards him. Even if he didn't kill those precious girls he DID put them in Crude Oil. He DIDN'T try and revive them or call 911. So from our prospective we have a very hard time with CW.
I have watched almost all videos and I personally don't like how SW treats CW. JMO However none of that justifies what he did to SW and the girls and Nico after their deaths. ALL JMO
Thank You for being here with us.
And I completely respect and understand that. Thank you

Amazing how far some will stretch things to accuse 'victim shaming' to shut down any conversation that doesn't fit into the little box they have this wrapped up in.

We have a verified insider who is willing to give information and insight about the case we otherwise would not have and it seems like many posters just want to argue with the VI and dispute everything the VI says.

Sorry I assumed the reaction was he bought new clothes after that
How do we know what clothes he already had that he wasn't wearing that day? He went around telling people his clothes were "new"?

Do thrive bars have nuts ? I had wondered about that . I knew the family ate them as per SM and had them in the house
That is a very good question! I hadn't thought of that!

Watching the trend in these posts alone I’m a lot less convinced he’ll be convicted of the girl’s murders than I was in the beginning. Unless there’s compelling forensic evidence (time of death differences, proof of premeditation like google searches, etc). there’s enough reasonable doubt drummed up just by our conversations and sleuthing to sway some jurors. Imagine what a defense attorney with access to evidence and full time staff could do. What’s max sentence for murder in the second and tampering with bodies?
I agree with you, totally. The videos could work for either side - it's a bit of a crap shoot.

My mind hasn't completely changed because of the videos, but I am open to different ideas than I was before viewing them. (I still do not think SW killed the girls, fwiw.)

Well I only know CW side since SW is deceased so everything I am basing my opinion off of is CW side of things.

ETA : CW side, he killed SW and Nico in a Rage. He disposed of their bodies including his little girls in crude oil. He was having an affair.
And to add to all that his TV interviews of him grinning and giggling.
So yes there is 2 sides but we will only hear CW because Shanann is Dead :( :(

Understood but certainly he had other options if he felt bullied or mistreated than murder

Exactly. There isn't a law that states one must get the permission from their spouse before they leave. If he wanted out, he could have always left and as long as he paid his financial obligations for SW and his daughters, no crime would have been committed. JMO.

Me neither. But I imagine her desire to have the Santa picture outweighed her concern for the children's feelings. Some children are terrified of people dressed in costume. They are strangers who look weird.

Also, we teach our children not to approach strangers. Then we plop them on a stranger's lap and tell them to smile.

Or make them give great aunt Hellen a hug, even though she's a stranger to them. It can be very confusing for children to not be allowed to have control over who touches them.
