I keep going back and forth as to when the girls were murdered but I do strongly think it was prior to SW coming home. BUT, I just had a thought while I try to sort more things out......What if he strangled the girls after as a way of explaining or justifying the strangulation of SW. I mean he's pointing to her as the one who did it so what if in his way of thinking, he strangles the girls to pin it all on SW. I hope that makes sense because I've been awake since 4 am with only 1 cup of coffee and my eyes are not focusing.

My personal opinion is that CW planned to get rid of his entire family no matter what.

I think his original story was going to be SW left him because they had an argument and he had no idea where she went. But then his affair was discovered and the friend came over beforeche could stage the house and he couldn't come up with the name of the friend SW supposedly went to visit. He had to come up with a new story to try and fit the lies he already told.

I don't think there ever was any "emotional conversation".

Hi Everyone! New member. My theory:
I think SW got home and CW was quietly fuming about the life he thought he could have with the new AP, probably younger, fitter, better educated, into him versus the life he was living. I bet he let her go to sleep as he quietly fumed and then between 3 and 4 in the morning, he straddled her back and strangled her from behind. I don't even think she was sleeping with him if she suspected him of an affair. She was probably sleeping on the loft couch. And knowing how it is with my toddlers, I bet those little girls were in the parents' bed. He probably straddled her and strangled her from behind on the couch and she couldn't really fight back from that position, maybe a couple of scratches on his hands and arms and that is how her phone got stuck in the cushions. I don't think it was preplanned much further beforehand. He probably strangled the kids while they were sleeping in the master bed (why the sheets were stripped because they wet themselves). He knew that no one would ever believe that SW would disappear without the girls.
I think after he killed SW, he thought it was best to say she had left with the kids, so the 2 little girls became his victims to save himself. I think he then had to come up with where to dispose of them and this is why he did not have time to set up the crime scene before he left. He probably thought he would have time to get rid of her purse, vehicle, cell phone later in the day, never thinking that one of her friends would call the police so soon.
I think he decided on the oil tank because he thought they would all fit. I bet at his chosen site, it took time to get the bolts for the hatch undone. I also think this is when he lost the sheet wrapped around SW or the kids. He couldn't fit her body in there with the sheet on so he unwrapped her to try to get her in, or he took one last look at his kids (if it was wrapped around them) and it blew off while he was on top of the tank.
Because SW did not fit in the tank, he now had to try and attempt to dig a grave, which gave him zero time to look for the sheet. Of course, he probably thought he could come back later to really get her in the tank.
to me, everything seems like it was done in haste, with little forethought and he has been reacting, but all his reactions are done halfway and look bizarre. The whole story is crazy to us because it is so haphazard. I think he killed SW and went in CYA mode and made horrific choices.

They haven’t realeased any info regarding evidence yet.
I believe that it stated something like there was no “visible evidence” of foul play in the arrest affidavit. I could be wrong!

I think CW ambushed SW when she arrived home. She probably entered the home thinking CW was sleeping and not too many lights on so he could sneak up on her. I don't think she saw her little girls either before she was killed. He probably told her what he did to the little girls as he was murdering her but I don't think he would have risked her reaction (screaming) if she saw the girls deceased before he killed SW.

This is why I'm leaning towards him waiting until SW went to sleep as well. I think he likely killed his children before she arrived home, she comes home and goes to bed and then he strangles her.

I'm honestly not too sure any sort of confrontation even occurred at this point. I think that fits nicely with his story because he needed to have some reason to blame SW for strangling their children.

I think he had planned to kill her, he waited for her to go to sleep which probably didn't take very long, and he strangled her.

Hmmm: I could see this.

It would be so nice to know if she was buried in the same clothes she was wearing when she was dropped off by NA. (He did go on record as saying she got into bed...)

Of course it would be a billion times nicer if SW and her little ones were all alive.

That could simply mean no visible blood/blood splatter, no signs of struggle, etc. Urine and other fluids on sheets wouldn't be considered a sign of fowl play necessarily. I've lost count of how many times my bed sheets have been peed on by kids over the years lol.

I'm a long-time reader of this website and finally bit the bullet and joined to add to the discussion about this case. Thank you, Admins, for my approval to post.
Early when this case broke, I remember seeing things about CW having a prior record/arrests. Was there any truth to this? I see another Christopher Watts in NC with a bunch of charges on an online website, but it is a different person clearly.

The one thing that disturbed me right away (and this is because of my career field) is he gave options of where she could be, wasn't worried, and his inability to hide the duper's delight smile. He kept wrapping his lips around his teeth to try and hold the smile back. I knew he killed them then.

If SW was sleeping on the couch that could explain why her phone was behind the cushion.
If your theory is correct, SW would have likely looked in on the girls whether in their rooms or the master bedroom so they would have been alive at that point. I can't imagine SW returning home from trip and not peeking in on the girls.

I just checked the affidavit, and it’s in there. It does state they found no signs of foul play on the sheets, but I’m not sure what that means.

The lights are a good observation does anyone remember if her friend mentioned House was dark or not ?

You’re right, that’s what it said, they checked the bedding for signs of foul play.

IDK if anyone has pointed this out yet, but thrive doesn't even actually give you a car allowance or pay for ANYTHING. they give you the amount of money that those things WOULD cost... in THRIVE CREDIT. thus, the $800 "car allowance" was really $800 worth of thrive... they were certainly in far more dire financial straights than they led on. absolutely no excuse for CW.

edit: trying to find the auto agreement. but according to ex-rep any "bonus" through thrive is just more thrive :/

CW may have just smothered SW when she was asleep, same with the kids, which was why he didn't have any wounds on him.

"I just love these shirts!"

WOW, was I wrong. He does have a mistress. In every video I have seen of him, he still shows duper's delight. He obviously thought he would get away with it. Takes some kind of hubris.

Just another Peterson in the end.

Wish Nancy Grace was still at HN, dont like that new person as well.
I listened to Nancy Grace for hours today on podcast “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace”... talk about this case. She hasn’t said anything we haven’t said on here ...

Hi everyone, haven’t been on WS in a minute.
I don’t think it was premeditated. Everything that follows is my opinion and pure speculation. My thoughts:
CW begins affair with coworker.
While SW is in NC with the kids, CW and gf stay the night together.
Intuition tells SW that something is wrong. Maybe she called home and he wasn’t there. Maybe when she called to say goodnight his voice was different. This is when she begins to suspect an affair.
Maybe SW did some investigating. Maybe they argued about his Facebook page. Maybe location tags didn’t match up. Maybe he was liking posts on someone’s page. Maybe in their arguing, he tells SW “You’re crazy, I’m not cheating, and to show you how little I care about Facebook, I’ll just delete my account” Because maybe he knew SW had only scratched the surface of what could be uncovered.
He deletes his account.
SW and the girls return from NC.
Now SW is paying closer attention. She tells friends her suspicions.
While she is on her work trip, something happens where she has pretty much convinced herself that he IS cheating. Because up until then she probably didn’t want to believe it. Maybe she catches him in a lie. Maybe she sees some incriminating phone records or something to that effect. This is when she starts to feel sick.
She walks into the house after her flight and immediately confronts CW. They fight.
SW says something that infuriates CW and he strangles her. The girls see. He strangles the girls.
He brings the deceased to his job because the best he could come up with is to hide them all in the oil tanks. SW doesn’t fit in the opening. Plan B: bury her.
I think he thought he’d have at least 24 hours to either stage a crime scene or make it look like she ran off. THANK GOD FOR NUA! I’m thinking by leaving her phone at home he was going to say she was home that day and he tucked everyone into bed Monday night and she didn’t go missing until Tuesday.
CW doesn’t know what LE knows so he says he knows nothing. He says when he asked for a separation they were both upset and crying because he doesn’t know if the neighbors heard. He denies the affair. LE has not given him any indication that he is a suspect. They ask him in for an interview and ask his story. Then they drop on him “why did you back your truck up to the garage” “why did you go to work so early” “we found a bedsheet of yours at your job” “the drone picked up images of some freshly moved earth that we’re about to go dig up” “we know you’re having an affair because xyz” etc. CW knows this is bad for him. He asks to speak to dad. He has come up with this story and wants to try it out on his father before he tells the cops, like a dress rehearsal. He tells his dad his story. He feels like he was convincing enough to go ahead and tell LE.

There was a scratch on his neck in the interview or it appeared to be a scratch to me...

NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) can be done as early as 10 weeks. So yes, it would've been semi-recently. Results take 1-2 weeks. If she had it done at 10 weeks, she would've been notified of results by week 12.

And if her doctor uses the same company my OBGYN does, those results can be accessed online. As soon as the doctor verifies receiving results, the company will post them online on your account.

That would have ran the in debt couple about 1k out of pocket as she doesn't fit the qualifications IMO. Usually that's only covered by insurance for people over the age of 35, or where some chromosomal abnormalities are indicated by the birth of a previous child....or the last one may be possible, her first ultra sound was abnormal. I cannot see why a family struggling so hard would opt to drop money on this test when you can wait a few more weeks. What was the rush?

People on here are dropping heavy hints about information they're obtaining from non-MSM.

It's against TOS, but they do it anyway.

Please report them, or the Mods will close this down

Wow. If true, this is dastardly marketing. You can't make a car payment with patches and multivitamins. And why go out and get a luxury vehicle knowing the reimbursement isn't in cash? I mean, I know the answer to that but what a sham...
