Nothing can undo the damage CW did, but knowing that, I am so glad to see that he is going down in the records as guilty guilty guilty, including the pregnancy termination charge for little Nico. I have some satisfaction from that, and for the fact that now the families don't have to go through a trial.

I'm way behind because I have only been able to pop in every so often today due to work. I apologize if I get anything wrong....

If I am reading correctly, not only is he pleading guilty to murder after deliberation, he is pleading to all 9 counts against him. This makes me think that, although his defense team went the distance, LE had strong evidence that they didn't think they could conquer. I think CW didn't want his dirty secrets coming out in court, but I don't see the defense team rolling over if that was the only fear about trial. Conversely, I could see the prosecution standing firm on all 9 counts if they knew they had the stronger position.

After the sentencing, and the case is officially closed, will info be released? Can part of the plea be a requirement to seal certain information? Does the DA have authority to do that? Or would it be a battle like the autopsies?

I'm still curious about several other things because my mind doesn't let things go. But I'm happy her family doesn't have to endure a trial. I'm glad he's going to prison. And I hope the Shanann bashing all over the internet will die out now. She, her babies, and her family don't deserve it.

The autopsies will indeed be released and the DA seemed keen on releasing more info as well. I really feel most will come out.

I am also wondering about the possible hippa document they had- wasnt that supposed to be addressed today? Will we ever know what it was?

It was HIPAA info inside a motion and I don't think that will be released.

Since it was done at the police station- cw and his dad’s convo will be videoed correct? Will they be able to release that? I dont know what kind of rights cw would have now that he plead guilty i would think none and every thing could be public record

I think that will be released.

In case you are referring to my post (not at all sure if you are...)

I was asked earlier today what I thought the plea would be - I said I had no idea - but solely due to the fact that it was happening so early in the process, I would assume it would be for less than the full list of charges. It was a total guess, based only on the timing, that some of the “duplicate” charges (secondary counts for the girls) or the disposal charges may be dropped.

Not an exoneration of any type, or an implication that SW had anything to do with it. Just a guess . But dropping the DP for LWOP works too...

Dropping the death penalty is not less than the full charges. It's also not close to an exoneration.

That is EXACTLY my point. Thank you!!!

The affidavit would have told us had he initially confessed to killing them all, and then recanted.

I think there was miscommunication in the beginning, coupled with the knowledge that regardless of his story, he absolutely killed them all.
The report states that although he initially denied it, police documents show that he admitted to killing them all . This is what FR was told, and posted.

So glad CW did something right. Glad the families will be spared a trial.

RIP Shanann, Bella, CeCe and Nico. Your murderer will have a living life of hell.

I think he recanted his initial confession as well.

why? i was a bit on the fence as i had not had all the information yet and try to be impartial. he pled guilty now i know the truth! the world really sucks sometimes. <modsnip - reference to removed post>.

That's great. I hope in the future people may think more critically when giving the same weight to the lies of an accused triple murderer as they do to the public servants in law enforcement and the district attorney's office.

All people accused of a crime are entitled to a fair and impartial trial before their life or liberty is restrained by the state. The public is not required to abandon its critical thinking skills to support the accused and rip apart the victim.

We have never seen anything to that effect, though.

That would be a hell of a thing to leave out of the affidavit.

I wonder if the partial motive relates to his affair. What if the AP really did break up with him that weekend? Or does a partial motive have to be more concrete.

Of course this relates to his affair. Wonder if it was worth it you 🤬🤬🤬.

I’m so curious about the HIPAA information. I mean what is it that CW did not want the public to know?

My law partner felt it had to do with statements to physicians or psychs that could go toward competency or insanity (diminished responsibility).

The state mentioned the DA initially came at them with a different plea. That was rejected. Perhaps they offered guilty but with a mitigator based on diminished responsibility? So less than LWOP?

I’m still very ticked off that this all happened. I want to know what exactly happened and why. I don’t know why that is important to me. Maybe just to try and make sense of all this, and why people do what they do, and how do we keep this from continuing to happen. That last part feels hopeless, but oh well. I have changed my position on the death penalty over the decades, back and forth. I’m quite fine now with where this has landed for CW. I feel life in prison is much worse than the death penalty. Maybe he feels differently. He might not make it weeks, months, years. Who knows what will happen. What an emotional mess. Love and peace to SW’s family. I hope they can start to try and relax, have a quiet, loving holidays, and begin to heal, although I know life will never be the same.

@Amandaaa I’ve been looking for you! Thank you for predicting this. And all your posts.
Thanks for your kind words...

All we can do is make educated guesses - sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t :)

She is an absolute HERO.

As are the couple that he stayed with, and the babysitter in my opinion. All of them went to the media and said a short interview that let the world know where they stood. And then they shut their mouths. And they still have because as the DA said today, things could change until November 19th. So they have to be on best behavior and not say anything until then. And they are doing such. And I'm sure it's very hard for them to do. Because I'm sure they want to celebrate but in my opinion they are not doing so because they realize that they might be jeopardizing something before the 19th. And I'm sure that is so hard to do. In my opinion.

I guess I got confused by the qualifier that dropping the death penalty for life "works too". Not sure what you meant there!
