He’s angry he got caught.
He’s angry he had to give in to his attorneys (and reality) and plead guilty.
You know he has to be angry at those people who called the police.
He’s angry and crying because HIS life is over.
No mention whatsoever of him being angry or remorseful that his entire family is dead by his own hands.
Beyond ridiculous.
He is human, so believe me, as much as he will try not to think about what he did, it will be impossible for him to not dwell on it as long as he’s breathing.

I knew he would plea out. I am glad for her family so that they don't have the trauma of a trial; but I wish he was sitting on death row where he belongs.

I also wish he had to publicly state that he killed his girls for all the world to hear. I feel sure there will still be some people saying he just took the plea because he "had" to. Such a coward.

I hope now that all of those people that denigrated her now see how wrong they were. But unfortunately it will probably continue.

I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone would ever say one bad word about her friend that called the police. She is a true friend in every sense of the word. She knew something was wrong and went with her gut feeling. Thank God for her acting so quickly. This could have had a very different outcome if she had not acted so quickly.

It is so sad that one of the leading causes of death of pregnant women in the US is homicide.

Thing is, normal people don't think like a sociopath-- so we as normal people could never understand how murder v. divorce enters into one's head in the first place-- i mean think of killers like Susan Smith- she killed her kids because her boyfriend didn't want kids, so her solution, was okay, I'll get rid of the kids: who thinks like that? sociopaths do--- we of course cannot understand that thought process-- I think someone like Chris Watts sees people as obstacles getting in the way of what they want so what do they do? get rid of the obstacle in their way without blinking an eyelash. they just do it. It's like spouses who kill their spouse to get insurance money: so they think: i need money, i have an insurance policy on my husband but he is still here and alive (an obstacle)- so what does the spouse do? they kill the spouse- because that spouse is in the way of their getting money, which is what they want. It is mind boggling

Yes, and they justify their actions to themselves because they actually think they are superior and smarter than others. They lack empathy and are not capable of feeling remorse or shame, although they care very much how others see them. I don't think his actions had anything to do with money. Shanann and the kids served a purpose for him, I believe, and when they were no longer useful to him he needed to get rid of them. But I think he still had to distance himself from them in order to do it, and at that point he saw them as objects. The AP was just a back up, a replacement, imo. He apparently held out until the end, if his lawyers had to convince him. To me this means he was thinking he truly believed he could get away with it. When the "source" stated he was finally seeing reality, I don't think he had acknowledged what he has done or how wrong it was, just that he realized he may not get away with it. Jmo

Is he still on suicide watch? It is a real concern that I will log in here one day soon to find out he has hung himself. I just can’t see him lasting the distance in prison. I don’t know how effective the corrections officers can be in preventing him killing himself or someone killing him. Other inmates don’t tend to like child killers in prison.

I was stunned yesterday to read this news but am so grateful and relieved. I will never forget Travis Alexander’s poor family and the looks on their faces and their body language as they had to sit through the atrocity that was Jodi’s testimony. I believe I read that his brother in particular never really recovered from the horror of that experience.

I'll never forget the expression on the brothers face throughout that entire trial. Maybe SW and Jodi will become pen pals. They would be perfect for each other.

With his particular type of crime, even if he internalizes all his justifications......others will still see him as a baby killer and he'll develop a well-muscled neck from constantly looking over his shoulder at who might be approaching. IMO

IMO I believe CW murdered his family because he was bisexual and/or gay, hated himself for finally giving into his urges, and couldn’t fathom the thought of losing his family or anyone finding out. He may have been struggling with this his entire life but never acted on it until recently. Coming out as gay, while married with two kids and a baby on the way, IMO is looked upon by society very differently than having an affair.

This was one of my first posts. I've snipped parts that were irrelevant personal details and to make it more concise.

We will probably never get the truth from him and I suppose it doesn't really matter but gosh darn it, I want to know WHY he did this. I still stand by my earlier posted theory and maybe it's just one of many reasons why. I hope there are other reasons/motives, because to think he killed his entire family, including two innocent children and an unborn baby, over keeping a secret that he was attracted to men, makes me so angry! I mean who cares if he was. In fact, while writing this, I have to believe there was something else. Sorry for rambling on, I'm just so sad and angry about these senseless murders and I want to know why.

I was following along yesterday but work kept me from being able to weigh in.

I am so thankful that Shanann’s family will not have to go through a lengthy trial. CW murdered Bella, CeCe and Nico. He murdered Shanann. Her family will now be spared the additional nightmare of sitting quietly in courtroom watching him do it a second time by murdering her character.

I appreciate all of our attorneys for their input on this case. Thank you.

And for our VI and non VI friends of Shanann, thanks for sharing her with us and toughing it out through the unpleasantness created by CWs lying accusations.

Looking forward to seeing him accept his sentence.

That couple of hours on this thread yesterday was mesmerizing, my heart was in my mouth so to speak.. So glad that he confessed that Shan'nan did not kill them. .

A source close to CW said he didn’t want to plead guilty to murdering his wife and daughters but his lawyers helped him realize that given the extensive evidence against him and his own damning behavior during the investigation, he had little choice. He said, “Their evidence against him was overwhelming. There was physical evidence and his own words that would convict him. His story didn’t work. He got angry. He didn’t want to plead guilty. But he really had no choice, considering the evidence. It took a little bit of time for him to come around, but he did.”

The defence team approached the DA several weeks ago about a possible plea — not the other way around. Four days ago the decision was made to remove the death penalty from the table if he agreed to plead guilty. The source said, “There was some yelling, and some crying but eventually he acknowledged that his life was over after he killed Shan’ann”. It wasn’t even clear until this week if he would change his mind.

Remorse? Absolutely not. He was yelling and crying for himself. He knew the evidence was overwhelming and he probably was in a rage when he knew he had no choice unless he wanted to gamble on the death penalty. His lawyers must have been very persuasive.

Was he thinking of his family? Absolutely not. If he didn't think of his immediate family as he squeezed the last remaining breath from their bodies, why would he think of his parents etc. Nope, this was all about him.

Yep, agreed! The remorse is for himself. A person who could intentionally strangle his adoring daughters does not have much of a conscience. I know a lot of people (mostly fan girls on other forums) WANTED to see him as Hero Daddy...alas. He was just a selfish, selfish, little man.

what's the point? He has no assets and has pleaded guilty to all charges. I thought wrongful death suits are only if the defendant is found not guilty?

He would have to be capable of 'feeling' sympathy in the first place in order to plead guilty for the sake of others. I think he did it because he finally realized there was no other way out. Jmo

I am pleased the family have been spared the trauma of a trial and that Shanann has been vindicated. I never once had a doubt she had anything to do with harming her girls. I know they will rest in peace as the happy little family she so clearly worked tirelessly to have.

On another level I must say I was hugely annoyed reading reports and watching the press conference. When I heard the defence had made the approach for a plea I just felt it was yet again Watts trying to control the situation. He was willing to admit what he had done and clear Shanann's name on condition of him being granted his requests. What a truly selfish person he is. It reminded me of early news reports where it was said he agreed to tell police what happened if he could speak to his father first - that shows the true person he is, clearly selfish and self absorbed.

His reported tears when speaking yesterday made me cross also. He didn't appear to cry on his neighbours cctv footage of him loading up his truck, I bet he didn't cry when digging his wife's grave, he didn't cry when opening those oil tanks or when he gave his press interviews in the following days. Why bother crying now.

I have to keep his parents in my thoughts. What a horrible position he has put them in. Not only has he taken their beloved grandchildren, they must live forever with what he has done.

I hope in time Shanann's family find peace and some degree of happiness.
