I wasn't able to watch the press conference yesterday. Am I correct in understanding that they are still not clear on who was killed first?

Yes. And the DA said he didn't care to hear CW's self serving narrative of what happened because it wouldn't be truthful. The plea speaks for itself but the details of who died when will never be known.

That must have been so stressful for you, but in a relatively satisfying way.

Very satisfying. So stressful. But worth it, I am so happy her family does not have to go through years of a trial, or waiting for a trial.

He conceded because he is guilty and knew how awful the process of going through trial to get a verdict, would be, for HIM.
That makes sense. If he was worried about looking bad in those interviews, he had to know he'd look awful at trial, no matter how much he tried to deflect blame.

Yes. And let's be clear. Innocent fathers don't ever, ever, ever plead guilty to the first degree, premeditated murders of their children for ANY reason.

And the death penalty was likely little motivation for CW here. It's meaningless in CO for the most part.

He knew he was guilty. He knew the evidence was clear. He knew he would have to sit there and watch his family, friends, the entire nation and beyond, listen to the lurid details of what he did as why. But by bit by bit. In dramatic testimony. In texts he wrote and internet searches he made. Etc.

He conceded because he is guilty and knew how awful the process of going through trial to get a verdict, would be, for HIM.

Do you think evidence like texts/emails/internet searches will be released after sentencing? That is what I've always been interested in. I don't think he's very smart so I think there's a good bit of electronic evidence. IMO

I truly do. I think we are going to see a lot.

I could definitely still see him trying to spin things, so that makes sense. I suppose it also indicates the autopsy could not determine a definitive gap in time between the deaths. I had always leaned toward him killing the girls first, hours before she got home, but now I am wondering if he did in fact kill them after killing Shanann or shortly before her.

Can CW change his mind? Can he decided to change his plea and go for a trial ?

I expect she might agree some time down the line to partake in one of those true crime documentaries where they place the person in darkness in front of faintly outlined blinds and change their voice into Dalek speak.
I am quite surprised media haven't focused in on her before now. Look at the celebrity frenzy Amber Frey got caught up in. I suppose we'll find her in the National Enquirer sooner or later, or on a chat show with Gloria Allred representing her...

Will that be via media requests or FOIA requests, something like that? I know he addressed the autopsy at the conference, that he had to consult with 2 or 3 entities including the family. Seems like it would be routine for media to push.

Well I doubt that, unless she really really needs $$.

Based on the blog post that I think Nuttmeg posted, no I don't think so. He would have to say something like he was coerced and the judge would say, I was there and asked you questions about your representation and if you knew what you were doing and you did.

ETA - Sorry it was Nikynoo who posted the vlog

Agreed. I think she would be vilified severely and is probably afraid for her safety and the safety of her family. I doubt she would out herself.

Are Facebook comments still against TOS when they're made by a family member, such as Shanann's mom? Want to err on the side of caution before posting a quote.

Yes, we still can't link to family members' social media. Are the comments on Shan'ann's mom's personal FB page?

No, her brother's. I'll send a PM with the contents.

He can withdraw his plea before the judge approves it and he's sentenced, if he is withdrawing it for "fair and just reasons" per CO law.

That's why the DA won't release "investigative" info prior to sentencing.

But that's things like ineffective assistance of counsel, he didn't understand the plea, etc. And I think he'd have to have real proof of that.

IMO this is a done deal.

Unfortunately I don't think it will completely stop, but it should wind down to a dull roar. My strong hope is these people will reflect on why they enjoyed being cruel to an innocent family in mourning and think twice before engaging next time. No doubt some won't, and they are going to miss the frenzied, gleeful group bashing they so enjoyed. All we can hope for is someday the tables are turned and they get to feel firsthand the pain they've been causing.

As vile as some people have been, there have been far more who've gone out of their way to show empathy and support. IMO hang with those and ignore the rest!

Agree, but what I meant from my OP was that I bet his lawyers are relieved now.

Not unless she agrees to it. She has managed to stay anonymous this long. I'm sure she wants to put the whole nightmare behind her and go on with her life.

Agree. She's probably also concerned for her safety. I would be. I can only imagine how awkward and uncomfortable it was to keep working at Anadarko throughout, if she did or still is.

Oh, to be a fly on those office walls.

I don't know. I think they could just release it.

That's what I originally thought and now am thinking he may have killed them all when she got home too. Maybe it was he who, after the "emotional conversation", was enraged after realizing she was actually initiating the separation. After all, he had transferred all his actions onto her. Almost everything he said she did was actually what he himself did. I believe his worst fear was abandonment, and his plan was to be rid of them and start over with someone else who adored him. Jmo
